It is a beautiful cabin with every amenity one would want. Carol, you have done a terrific job selecting everything to meet a rustic, yet classic decor with modern accessories.

There were two things that might be helpful to future visitors and to you or the managers: 1.)

Somehow, my stay was scheduled a day later with the manager, therefore the lock was not programmed. When I arrived at 4:20, I could not use my code at all. Thankfully, Karlan was with me and took me around to get Cheryl to come program the door lock. I would not have known where to get help. Karlan said it was very unusual for you not to be able to reply to the message I had left on your phone. I arrived earlier at 2:00 something and at that time just thought the lock was timed and I was too early. Cheryl was very nice and apologetic and I can see that that kind of error could easily be done. 2.) Once I was in the cabin all was wonderful. I did wonder though, that if an emergency were to occur, say a water pipe burst or something, if I could get in touch with someone. I had no phone number except for yours. Of course, that would be unusual, I'm sure, and you would probably have been available. I'm just thinking of any possibility that might be a costly problem to your business. Thank you for the discount. I was able to get much done on my research and writing goals of the three days. I will give very high ratings and will tell many folks I know about your lovely place...not mentioning my teeny lock problem or ideas. Off to meet my last interview people in Prairie Lea and then back to the wild world of Dallas! Be blessed! joann loughlin

Great Getaway Cabin

We loved the tiny home!! It had everything you could need to make your stay comfortable. Our 4-year old grandson loved the loft. It was surprisingly roomy and very cozy. We would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful tiny home

  • 5 of 5

After watching all the HGTV shows about tiny houses, we wanted to experience tiny house living. The house is exactly as advertised here. Beautifully finished and comfortable. Our three kids (ages 12, 10, & 5) loved the loft. The kitchen had full size appliances so it made cooking easy. There is no dishwasher but the home was stocked with paper plates, napkins, cups, and plastic utensils, all of which escaped our shopping list in San Marcos. We had a wonderful time and would stay again!

Exceeded expectations.

Property was like new. Clean and comfortable. Everything you need to call this place home away from home and more. Loft is very small but we were able to sleep two adults comfortably. Very pleased.

Best little place ever!

  • 5 of 5

If I could write this review in glowing gold letters I would. We were welcomed with a chalkboard that personally welcomed us. Carol has outfitted this places with everything you could imagine to make a wonderful stay. Q Tips, cotton balls, paper plates, extra towels, razors, deodorant, tooth brushes, dog bowels, dog treats, pet clean up bags, family games, and a great front porch with a fan are just a few of the things included that make this place A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! The kids enjoyed the loft that was equipped with a tv. And when they couldn't agree on what to watch, one would go downstairs and watch one of the two tvs there or entice the others with a selection of family games. There were night lights throughout the cabin so the kids were never scared when it was dark. I also loved that this little place had several pluggable fans available - I love sleeping to the white noise they offer. We did not take advantage of the charcoal grill outside but we've good another stay already and will take advantage of the.

One of the best parts of this little cabin was its location. It's a quite place to listen to the crickets chirp on a Texas sumer night and remote enough to see the stars shining - all from the front porch. But, you're only 10 minutes from San Marcus and from the river itself. Don't pass up this little gem.
