About the property

Great tiny home... prepare to relax

The cabin is near the Staples Historic Park, Staples Historic Cemetery, and the San Marcos River (The owner does not provide access to the SM River). Staples is a quiet town. The population is 250 people. Be prepared to relax.

Even though the cabin is located in a small town, it is centrally located between Austin and San Antonio. You will be about 5 minutes from Martindale tubing, 15 minutes from the San Marcos Factory Outlet, 20 minutes from the Formula One Racetrack, and 10 minutes from Lockhart and Luling bar-b-que.

About Carol Wester

We live in Staples and are active in our community. We hope to show you the simplicity and beauty of our town.

Carol Wester purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Carol Wester chose Staples

This property is in downtown Staples. The city doesn't have any street lights or stores. Be prepared to relax and enjoy all the benefits of Central Texas, without the crowds. The birds, stars and sunrises are amazing. You can canoe from Martindale to Staples. This place is ideal for cyclist and nature lovers.

What makes this cabin unique

This house is part of a 'tiny town' that's under development. We have three other homes (on this property) if you have a group event.

The cabin was cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed sleeping at the loft especially our son.

Quiet place to unwind and relax. Everything that we needed was there inside the cabin. We enjoyed the walks outside especially early morning and early evening. The sounds of birds chirping around us was special.

And it's so close to barbecue places around Lockhart. Black's BBQ was awesome! And we all were awed by the Natural Bridge Caverns. We also found cool hiking places like the Blanco Shoals Natural Area and Lockhart State Park.

This was a wonderful experience for our family!

We absolutely LOVED our relaxing weekend getaway at the Tiny Home Cabin! Everything was perfect and so detailed, all we needed to bring was our clothes and groceries to cook our meals. Or kids loved the loft and thought they where adventuring in some sort of "club house". I even left my hair iron and Carol was kind enough to mail it priority. I am looking forward to coming back in the summer again!

The cabin was better than anticipated. The pictures didn’t do it justice. But the cherry on top was Carol. The cabin had everything we needed to make our stay feel warm and comfortable. Thank You Carol.

It is a beautiful cabin with every amenity one would want. Carol, you have done a terrific job selecting everything to meet a rustic, yet classic decor with modern accessories.

There were two things that might be helpful to future visitors and to you or the managers: 1.)

Somehow, my stay was scheduled a day later with the manager, therefore the lock was not programmed. When I arrived at 4:20, I could not use my code at all. Thankfully, Karlan was with me and took me around to get Cheryl to come program the door lock. I would not have known where to get help. Karlan said it was very unusual for you not to be able to reply to the message I had left on your phone. I arrived earlier at 2:00 something and at that time just thought the lock was timed and I was too early. Cheryl was very nice and apologetic and I can see that that kind of error could easily be done. 2.) Once I was in the cabin all was wonderful. I did wonder though, that if an emergency were to occur, say a water pipe burst or something, if I could get in touch with someone. I had no phone number except for yours. Of course, that would be unusual, I'm sure, and you would probably have been available. I'm just thinking of any possibility that might be a costly problem to your business. Thank you for the discount. I was able to get much done on my research and writing goals of the three days. I will give very high ratings and will tell many folks I know about your lovely place...not mentioning my teeny lock problem or ideas. Off to meet my last interview people in Prairie Lea and then back to the wild world of Dallas! Be blessed! joann loughlin
