Baseline is $25 per person per night. Nice weekly rates. Just bring your personal items and food. The huge deck looking over the meadow is enjoyed during the fall and winter months. Watch out for the low estimates provided by Home Away. The Home Away system can’t seem to handle variable rates based upon the number of guests – their estimate is based on our rate for just 2 guests! Obviously, for the larger groups we specialize in, a quote in this range can be quite misleading. We have been working with Home Away to correct the problem.
The Chalet is halfway between Zion and Bryce on Hwy 89 (some call it a destination by itself!!) for the Chalet is a hub to a variety of activities from skiing or riding bikes down Utah's famous powdered slopes to adventuresome hiking through ancient river gorges bordered by sheer rock faces. Whether after a day of sliding down the Pink Sand Dunes, hiking to Calf Creek Falls near Bryce Canyon, or fishing in the beautiful clear rivers and lakes, you can unwind and reminisce of the day's pleasures in a hydrotherapy spa.
Others loved our place, you will too!! Just a few comments!
“Great base for a vacation exploring Zion and Bryce National Parks. This home was comfortable, clean and spacious for our family. Our children, 9 and 11, loved all the space outside, the obstacle course and many different kinds of swings and hammocks. We all enjoyed the beautiful views and peaceful location. The game area was really a bonus and so was the hot tub after a day of hiking.”
“Great location and wonderful people. You can't do better than this if you want a good place to vacation. Lots to do within driving distance too. But nothing better than sitting on the deck or around the fire pit in the evening......so peaceful.”
“Our FAMILY had a Great Vacation! The kids loved the zipline, and the Audlts loved the Deck! The view off of the deck was amazing. We had over 20 Grandkids and there was enough space and things to do we didn't feel like all the kids were right under our feet.”
“The cabin is bigger than it looks in the pictures, and has a lot of open living areas.”
“What a delightful place for a family gathering!! Our grandchildren are still raving about the wonderful time they had there. The location was ideal, the accommodations great, and the multiple activities at the cabin kept everybody enraptured, especially the zip-line. We were able to take short trips to Zion and Bryce National Parks, as well as other hiking activities up around Duck Creek and Navajo Lake. Indoor and outdoor cooking facilities and the fire pit made cooking and evening entertaining easy and enjoyable. Did I mention how much fun the zip-line was?
All of our contacts with the owners were positive and they were always helpful. We recommend this cabin and its location as a great place for any size family. We even got to use the fire put one night--great views of the stars at night. Tons of beds and room for all of the guests. Overall, I could not have asked for more--we had an amazing time!”
“We decided this year to do a family Thanksgiving surrounded by trees and snow and for my family with three young boys...this house was perfect! The location is beautiful and very convenient to Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Brian Head. When we weren't out exploring, we were relaxing back at the house in the hot tub and the boys could keep going with pool, fuzeball and ping pong available. Jim and Bonnie were very accommodating and available anytime we had questions. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice place to take a family for vacation!!!.”
Your day might start out with horseback riding, a visit to Cascade Falls, lava tube exploring at Mammoth Caves or snooping through the many rock shops in the area. For a day and evening adventure you can fancy yourself with a live play at the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, not far from Brian Ski Resort or Cedar Breaks National Park. The Tuacahn amphitheatre in St. George where evening performances are spectacular among a natural stage of red rock cliffs is another area attraction.
Who says you have to do anything! Schedule in a day off to rest and just stay at the 'Destination' and choose to relax in a tree swing or hammock with a good book, grill or cook your dinner at the fire pit. At dusk linger to watch the breathtaking sunset followed by twinkling stars showing up so you can witness the 'Milky Way ' in all it's splendor!. Later, if you're still feeling energetic you can socialize in the game room playing Pool or a faster-paced ping-pong game.

We love the outdoors and have spent a lot of time in the High Sierra's and Lake Powell over the past 25 years. After living in Beijing China, Ghana Africa and Hong Kong it feels so good to be home. Three years ago we decided to remodel and build out our property for our family of 31+ to enjoy. But you know young families with jobs don't get as much time away as they would like. Our home is so comfortable and amazing we decided to share it! We welcome you to be our special guest.
Bonnie or Jim Pollock purchased this chalet in 1996
It's really a destination place between Zion and Bryce National Parks. Some guests just love to relax and enjoy the many amenities we offer. Everyone comments on how centrally we are located to so many areas of interest between the two major national parks, Bryce Canyon and Zion. Cedar Breaks, Brian Head Ski Resort, Duck Creek Village and Mammoth Caves are just 12-20 miles up Hwy 14 towards Cedar City.
We are at the top of the list when it comes to outdoor and indoor activities for all ages!! Fire wood for the fire pit and wood burning stove is FREE!
Great location and wonderful people. You can't do better than this if you want a good place to vacation. Lots to do within driving distance too. But nothing better than sitting on the deck or around the fire pit in the evening......so peaceful.
Close to Highway 89, tons of things to do for the whole family, close to Bryce National Park and Duck Creek Village, sweet zipline, gigantic deck with tons of tables and chairs, Jim and Bonnie are very kind and friendly.
We visited for a long weekend with a group of 6 adults and 9 kids and had a wonderful time! The house was fun and there was plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained, even when it rained for 2 of the days. We visited both Bryce and Zions and the house was a great location to get to both places. The zipline and clubhouse were an especially big hit. Really fun place to stay!
Our large family group of 25, including infants to retired grandparents, stayed at the cabin in July. We had so much fun. The cabin is perfectly situated for visiting the gorgeous Southern Utah National Parks. We visited Zion one day and Bryce another. A group also went fishing one morning at Panguitch Lake. We could have gone to Grand Canyon or visited Cedar Breaks National Monument, but there was plenty to do at the cabin to keep the 15 grandchildren busy from high rope swings to the zip line. Jim and Bonnie will bend over backwards to make sure you have what you desire and accommodate your needs. They have made this a perfect family reunion destination. If you are looking for a spa like atmosphere with a gourmet kitchen, this is not the place. I actually stayed at just such a place the week after we left with a different group, and I kept wishing we were back at the Pollock's. There was so much more to do there and the views from the deck - day or night were spectacular. Go and enjoy the Pollocks warm hospitality!
We had a WONDERFUL time on our trip, visiting Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce! We loved staying at this great vacation home! It had so many things for 2 grandparents, daughter and grandgirls to do, inside and outside, and it was perfectly located between the parks. Our hosts have done a terrific job of creating a vacation place that meets the needs of many different kinds of vacationers. When we saw the full moon last week, we remembered the beautiful location where we were one month ago on our Utah trip!
Our family had a fantastic time while staying at this cabin. There were 25 of us ages 2 to 70 and everyone had a fabulous time. The cabin is located in a beautiful area surrounded by pine trees and an open meadow. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and seeing deer around the cabin in the evenings.
The kids and adults had fun with all the activities on the property and we had camp fires several nights during our stay. We enjoyed day trips to Bryce and Zion as well as an evening in nearby Cedar Breaks. The hosts, Bonnie and Jim were wonderful and helped make our stay fabulous. The kids and adults enjoyed all the activities at the cabin from basketball to ping pong, pool, darts, hot tub, swings, hammocks, tree house, sand box and lots more. I would highly recommend this property to any group looking for a fun cabin to stay at while exploring Bryce, Zion and the surrounding area.
The cabin has plenty of beds and bedding and all the kitchen essentials to cook for a large group.
We stayed for a family get away during the summer. It was relaxing, beautiful, and fun. The location accommodates a lot more than we expected. There were plenty of blankets and dishes and all neccesseties (besides food). The only recommendation I would make is traveling there during the daylight hours as it feels like a much longer drive than it is in the dark worried about missing a turn off. I've recommended to many friends to visit. I wrote about on our blog in August 2014 with pics of zipline, swing, firepit and more ... Www.doschbags.blogspot.com
We are in the heart of one of the most scenic areas of Southern Utah located at the headwaters of the Sevier River flowing north and the Virgin River flowing south. We are 35 miles from the east entrance to Zion National Park to the south west, the same distance from Bryce National Park to the north east, 30 miles from Navaho Lake, 40 miles from Panguatch Lake (and great fishing) and 40 miles from Cedar City and the world famous summer Shakespeare Festival. Also, some of our guests take day trips to the North
