This property has a lot of charms, I think the pictures really doesn't do the justice. The little Spanish style house is spacious and has a lot of character. The kitchen and bathroom is completely remodeled and very clean. The owner is also very considerate, you can find everything you would expect in a rental plus much more. We stayed over Christmas, the bus was not running, otherwise it would be very convenient to take bus to Old San Juan. The beach is just at the end of the street, super market is within walking distance, overall very nice location.
Property was very clean and matched the description. Worked great for our family of 4. Highlight was the patio-deck which was great for morning coffee, afternoon drinks and dinner - it gave the place a big plus! Nice beach was steps away, but don't forget to bring beach towels.
Area was a bit run-down, but felt safe walking to the bakery and stores and extra safe in the gated community. We would go back.
This is a fantastic property in a perfect location. The owner is very accommodating and I try and stay here everytime I am in PR.
The apartment is located in a nice neighborhood with security access. The kitchen was equipped with everything you might need. Huge TV, air condition, and the terrace is very comfortable with a super BBQ grill. The apt is waking distance from one of the best beach in the metro area. I strongly recommend this apartment two a couple or small family. Thank you Jaime.
Really nice apartment, comfortable, clean and quiet. The terrace is roomy and great for hanging out. Good location near the beach, Condado and Loiza (and Kasalta, where we went nearly every day). Also handy to grocery and drug stores. And it's one bus to Old San Juan. Jaime responds quickly and efficiently to questions. We would gladly stay there again.
San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico is the oldest city on US territory (St. Augustine, Florida the oldest city in the continental). Founded in 1521 by Juan Ponce de León, who named it City of Puerto Rico ('Rich Port').
The history of San Juan begins a logn time before its official foundation, in 1493, during his second voyage, Christopher Columbus landed in Puerto Rico. He named the island 'San Juan Bautista', in honor of John the Baptist. But was not until 1508, that the Spanish government appointed Juan Ponce de León as the first governor of the island. He founded the original settlement in Caparra, now known as Pueblo Viejo, behind the almost land-locked harbor just to the west of the present metropolitan area and the city quickly became Spain's most important military outpost in the Caribbean.
A year later, the original settlement was relocated to a nearby coastal islet (to the site of what is now called Old San Juan) and named Puerto Rico (Rich Port). Sometime during the 1520s, confusion over the names led to a switch, the island took the name of Puerto Rico and the town became San Juan.
Today, San Juan is known as 'La Ciudad Amurallada' (the walled city) and is one of the biggest and best natural harbors in the Caribbean and is the second oldest European-founded city in the Americas (after Santo Domingo, which was officially founded on August 5, 1498.)
