Quaint & spacious

  • 5 of 5

For two small families, this house worked out great! We had plenty of room. The room with two twin beds worked out great for our two boys and each couple had a room! We were a short drive to the Appomattox court house and Civil War Museum, grocery store, and restaurants. It's about an hour drive to some of the other locations we visited, but it was fine. We really enjoyed our weekend.

Beautiful and Convenient

A small group of us traveled from Dallas/Ft. Worth to attend Ordinations at the new St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary. It was a beautiful house and very convenient for us to travel to and from. Debra is super nice and we will be back again next year.

Awesome Home in the Country

  • 5 of 5

We have used Home Away on many occasions while overseas but this was our first time to use in the US. The home was lovely, spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We stayed 3 three nights and had an infant with us, just the right place for our extended family. Wished we had more time to have stayed a few additional nights to explore the area and enjoy the surroundings. The owners where very nice and helpful. A GREAT PLACE TO STAY FOR A FEW DAYS OR A LONG VACATION!

Ideal Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

This property is super clean, functional space, beautiful, and comfortable. A group of us (6) stayed over to go check out Yogaville and the area in general. The kitchen was the right size and we had fun cooking and telling stories. The afternoon sky is beautiful - orange, blue, white; the air is clean, and the stars are bright (not too much light pollution here).

Words of wisdom: Come prepared with what you're going to cook, this is rural country. There's restaurants out there, but make sure you locate them before "winging a night out in the hinterlands". Make sure you fill up your car tank with gas at least 7-10 miles before arriving to the location. Bring your charcoal to grill outside. Bring food storage containers to take your leftovers with you.

There was a water pressure issue that didn't allow us to use the upstairs showers, but this was being taken care of at the time. Just ask before you book. The homeowner is very responsive, direct, warm, and will answer all your questions. We will definitely come back here.
