We stayed at Island Beach Retreat in May 2013 & had an absolute blast! The accomodations were comfortable for the 4 adults and 2 children in our family group. We loved how there was something to do for everybody. We flew our kites, took walks down the roads and beaches, fished in the surf(I emailed the picures of my 42" redfish)fished from our kyaks in the canals and built sand castles. Thank You! We plan to return soon!
Our family is in agreement that any future beach getaways will find us on Sargent Island staying at the Simmons' beach house. If the idea of walking through a grassy backyard right onto the beach and into the ocean with no one in sight in any direction appeals to you, then you should check this place out. The house is neat as a pin and has everything you need to make it an enjoyable stay. The porch that wraps around the house guarantees you can find a spot that has a nice breeze.........no mosquitoes! Look south and you are looking at the ocean, look north and there's the intracoastal waterway with all the big barges silently going up and down the coast.....if you're into fancy stuff, putt putt golf and souvenir shops, skip this place.... but if you like to walk the beach and never run into anyone then I would hope you will check this place out..if you like stargazing and you're lucky to be there on a clear night, the porch gives you an incredible spot to view the stars....and lastly, the caretaker's husband said the surf fishing directly off the beach is some of the best along the coast so on our next visit we'll be eating fish for dinner...
Our friends recommended this home to us and we are so happy they did. Nothing fancy or pretentious but gorgeous views and total relaxation in an unspoiled paradise. Every morning we watched a beautiful sunrise on the open deck. The home has all you need kitchen wise and clean and comfortable beds. The owner answered all our questions and was very easy to work with. We couldn't get the tv to work and the property manager came out in less than 30 minutes to show us how it worked. A fun thing to do is catch crabs with the traps in the garage and enjoy the feast ! My kids loved this ! This is a great place to get away from it all . We didn't want to leave and have already booked a return visit in the fall !
My buddies and I spent the weekend here while on a fishing trip. The house was perfect for us. We spent the days on the beach with our lines in the water, and the sanctuary of the house was much welcomed after we had baked ourselves in the sun. We'll be booking again for our annual trips.
We have stayed three times in this house and love it. It has always been clean and inviting. It is perfect for watching the ocean, collecting shells, playing on the beach or in the ocean and fishing. The house is close to the beach and an easy walk for the young ones or older adults. We range in age from 4 to 88. We saw fireflies this time and we were thrilled. The beach was quiet and we pretty much had it to ourselves. Can't wait til our next visit. We enjoy our beach time.
Thanks, Carleen for sharing your beach home with us.
for little ones or older
Great place to stay. Very quiet and clean. I have stayed there several times and will definitely stay again.
This was our first time renting from homeaway or Colleen and Bill. I have to say we have had an awesome time and experience. Definitely made tons of memories between us and with our kids as well. We will definitely be renting again and we are already looking at the calender.
