Our family has been vacationing in the White mountains since our children were small. We usually come for the Skiing but since we have owned this house we have discovered how nice the area is in the Summer. We have made a lot of memories with our children in this area that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. We are looking for like minded people who can appreciate the relaxation and fun to be experienced in this area with their families to rent from us.
Ellen and Paul Leeber purchased this chalet in 2012

The Leeber Lodge was a great location for our fall vacation. The house was exactly what we needed. Close to the lake for canoeing and fishing (and even one day of swimming despite it being October). The kids loved the two bunk rooms downstairs and the adults loved the spacious bedrooms upstairs. We used the balcony grill and fire pit on several nights. All in the perfect base for hanging by the lake or heading out to explore the North Conway region. We will be back.
Our group of 9 women really enjoyed this cabin in the woods. It wasn't too far from town and the property was very clean and in excellent condition. The camp had all the luxury of home with a getaway feeling. The beach is within walking distance as well. I would have to recommend this place if anyone is looking for a getaway but doesn't want to be too far from town.
We stayed for a family 60th birthday weekend over the 4th of July for my mom. Paul was fabulous to work with: helpful, accommodating and responsive. The place was great for us.
The 3 different levels of the house (basement, main floor, upstairs) were excellent if you have kids with you. We had a 9yr old and an almost 3 yr old. The 9yr old loved the basement, it was like he had his own little apartment, but the almost 3 yr old had the best time. He could go up & down the stairs to see his brother without our worry as the stairs were carpeted and easy for him. He loved going out on the deck to do bubbles. Again very easy for us to mind him as it's right off the main living space.
We were able to use the stove and the grill to cook. We had a fire in the fire pit one night. The seating is a little sloped and it's really dark on that side of the house so I'd suggest set chairs up in daylight and bring a lantern for that. We didn't check if they had one, so maybe ask first. The house has plenty of bathrooms for many people. The cottage accommodated our crew of 6 adults and 3 kids (including a newborn) very well with plenty of beds to spare.
One downside we found (but understood why) was we had to make all our beds on arrival, then strip them at the end. Under normal circumstances that wouldn't really be much of an issue, but we arrived when it was really hot and humid and the house doesn't have A/C, we were sweating in the first hour just making beds. I would rather the option to pay an additional optional fee for making and stripping beds for us.The house stayed pretty cool the rest of the weekend though.
The gem of this house is the lake. The beach is a walk down a hill. Down is not the problem, but coming back up is a task, especially at the end of a day at the lake. Each day we would pack 1 car full of our stuff and the little ones, someone would drive that down while the rest walked. That worked out really well. The beach is nice and on 4th of July weekend it was really only "busy" one day. Having little ones, there was a shaded area under the trees with a picnic table; we were able to get this area the whole weekend even when it was busy which was good for us. There is also a floating dock for kids and adults to swim out to and jump off. The house was stocked with tubes, noodles and chairs for the beach that we used each day.
If you are looking for a relatively easy low stress getaway, this place is for you. The pros far outweigh the cons.
My fiance and myself went up with two other couples for the weekend of Feb 12, 2016 and this house was absolutely perfect. It was about 15min away from North Conway which was perfect for us, it was still extremely close so we had no trouble getting to Cranmore on Saturday and the shopping areas on Sunday, but still secluded enough that you get the true feeling of being in NH. The house is extremely cozy, with the one main common area on the main level, right by the kitchen and living room, where we spent the majority of our time playing card games at the dining room table which sat everyone very comfortably. Paul, the owner was always accessible and quick to respond to all inquiries. We will definitely be going back to this house in the future.
Very nice property, very good condition and super clean. Everything you need to enjoy your stay is there. 2 minutes walk from the private beach and 2 minutes drive in car from all other beaches. We was big group of person (17) and everyone having a space to sleep.
