About Two Casitas, Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, Wendy Kapp

Having been raised in Chicago, Il. I knew did not want to spend my life in the City. When traveling out west back in 1975 I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico incredible sky's and landscape. I found the people here especially back in '75 to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. My extensive knowledge from living here for 34 years makes me the perfect local hostess to give you local tips on making your stay most memorable.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Kiva Casita. It is in a quiet location yet walking distant to the plaza and farmer's market. We even walked to and from Canyon Blvd. We found the casita to be clean and well appointed. It even has an expresso machine. We also appreciated the fact that there was washing soap and dryer sheets for the washing machine and dryer....as well as other essential supplies in the kitchen...salt, sugar, dish soap. The two full baths are usual when traveling with a teenager. She was very comfortable sleeping on the day bed in the "hallway". Our reservation request was promptly answered (we received a telephone call), same when we called with a simple question on our arrival and again when I emailed regarding a left-behind item. One of our favorite meals was at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame. Enjoyed the opera and the tour of the state capital. However we were a little disappointed with the OKeefe Museum as it has a special exhibit and only a few OKeefe's on display. Loved the Spanish Market and Madrid.

Very nice

  • 4 of 5

Very nice place. Really close to downtown. Only thing we didn't like was the lack of window coverings. Most windows had no curtains or shades.

Beautiful Vacation in a Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed with Two Casitas in Santa Fe and it's always a delight. The "Piñon" home is gorgeous with lots of room, gated entry, and private parking with a garage! Normally a garage wouldn't matter to us but for the winter snow it was great. For this "couples retreat" my wife and our close friends had lots of space and the accommodations were great, there was even a Santa Fe style kiva fireplace that kept us toasty while it was snowing! Location is fantastic, you can walk to the downtown plaza area from here as well as all of the art galleries and restaurants, though if you're staying in the winter we would recommend driving as it can get quite brisk.

Owner's Response: Wow! What an awesome review. Thank you so much. Santa Fe's winter months can be fairly cold, but attract a lot of people to our awesome Ski Basin. It's extremely important to us to make sure our homes maintain that cozy, warm, Santa Fe style vibe so that our guests can feel at home no matter what conditions the weather brings outside. The home's proximity to downtown also means that you won't have to deal with TOO long of a walk in the cold. We are also very thrilled that you came to stay with us again. We LOVE our repeat guests! Make sure to mention that to us when you come stay again, as we might be able to give you a discount on your next stay :) We hope to see you in Santa Fe again some time soon.

Pinon Vista - Accomodating and Pictureseque

  • 5 of 5

Pinon Vista, with its 5bedrooms and 4baths is ideal for group of 10 adults,(although it can accomdodate up to 14). The location is wonderful, but I recommend a car for activitiies including daily excursions, sightseeing, shopping and dining. The home's picturesque setting is perfect for sunset dining (hire a chef if you don't want to cook.. we did and it was fabulous.. ask for Mark Oppenheimer's

contact info) Upon arrival the house was ready for us, stocked with groceries per our request. It was a pleasure working with the management team. When returning to Santa Fe, Pinon Vista will be our first choice!

Overall positive experience

  • 4 of 5

The house was beautiful - very well equipped and very good location. We were even received with a bottle of wine which was very thoughtful. The only complaint I have is that the house doesn't actually have two single beds as advertised - but rather one single bed with a pull out which was not very comfortable.

Owner's Response: Piñon is indeed a beautiful house, and we appreciate your comments! Yes, we provide all of our guests with a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival! I apologize that the pull-out bed was not to your liking. This is the second feedback that we've have received about the daybed with the trundle, we are discussing this issue with the homeowner. Thanks for the review, and we hope to see you in Santa Fe again soon.

We'll be back!

  • 5 of 5

This is our favorite place to stay in Santa Fe. It's just perfect for our family! We love the coziness and amenities. Sitting on the little patio with the fountain bubbling in the evening is so pleasant. The kitchen is very well equipped and really fun to cook in. Our son loves the trundle bed and coloring at the little desk or watching TV in the downstairs bedroom. The location is great - quiet and safe with a short walk to the Plaza. Highly recommend.

Great place for 6 ladies !

  • 4 of 5

Loved this property! Was perfect for our annual "girls" trip with 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. Kitchen was well equipped with all we needed to cook in 2 of the 5 nights we were there.. We did not arrive with a car and we're able to walk to the plaza, but did rent a car for 2 days so we could drive to Taos. Property management people were great to deal with. Property was very clean an comfortable. Only complaint was trundle beds were not too comfortable for adults but would be okay for kids. Great place!
