Our best family reunion ever!

  • 5 of 5

With three families including five grandkids, it is hard to find the perfect place to gather, this home is it. We put the four older grandkids in the upstairs lakeview room with the adjoining bunk room, it worked perfect. The three couples each had their own bedroom, nice. We taught the grandkids how to play ping-pong and how to play billiards, including how to bank shots. The dock with the slide really was the highlight of our time together, that slide was so much fun. The dining room sat all ten of us after we moved the game table next to the dining table, plenty of room. The kitchen had everything that was needed. We will come back again.

Three Generation Vacation

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place for a family vacation! The three generations of our family all loved it! The owners were very nice and accommodating. The kids brought kayaks and this part of the lake was perfect for them to paddle around. We brought our boat and enough fish were caught the first two days for a fish fry! The slide was amazing for kids and adults, and the ping pong table was always in use. The house was clean and furnished very nicely and everyone wants to stay here again! I also want to add that we really enjoyed meeting the neighbors including Huey, Dewey and Ethel! Thanks to Jarrett and Glenn for having such a great place!

The best rental for kids that we have been to

  • 5 of 5

As a fellow VRBO owner, I know what customers look for in a rental and this fit the bill. It was very warm and comfortable and very homey, and the amenities and lake were better than expected. We had 8 adults and 7 kids and we brought 2 boats. The kids were constantly entertained and never bored. The TV's were not even turned on once. The neighbors were friendly and nice and everything was clean and neat when we arrived. The slide on the dock was the most popular amenity. The kids played on the slide and swam in the lake slew from about 10 to 5 each day. They could not get enough of it. They also enjoyed the ping pong and pool tables. If you like to fish, this was a great spot. We caught about 30 bream and bass each morning. We also enjoyed tubing and skiing out on the lake. I can't say enough nice things about this place. We will be coming back.

Enjoyed our stay but owners are unreasonable

  • 2 of 5

The property "sleeps 15" but beware that they are counting bunk beds in closets and crammed into other bedrooms. This could be a good set-up for families with little kids, but was somewhat odd for us with older and adult kids. Also, the upstairs Master shares a bathroom with another bedroom. Strangely enough, access to the bathroom is through a closet. Weird and a little awkward for our guests. There is a nice-sized deck off one of the upstairs bedrooms but there are no chairs on the deck so unless you want to rearrange the furniture, which we didn't think we should do in someone else's home, it's virtually unusable.

The house lacks a sitting area large enough to comfortably accommodate more than 6-7 people so we all ended up in separate rooms. That wasn't what we had in mind for a family vacation. The kitchen is poorly equipped without a bowl large enough for a salad, much less more than one salad!, and no platters for hamburgers, steaks, etc. There was only one piece of cookware and as it was used mostly to keep the kids in mac and cheese, we were without cookware for any other use. It was quite a feat preparing a meal for our family of 9. Although we enjoyed many things about our stay at this property including the water slide, fire pit and outdoor shower, the owners chose to not return our deposit without any explanation until three weeks later when we finally heard back from them. I would think that with the issues they said they had with the condition of the property that they would have contacted us immediately. Overall, I think the property is okay but could definitely use some upgrading and better management.

Owner's Response: Our main priority is creating a great environment for our renters. Our website clearly shows pictures of our home and its spaces. The bedroom layouts and beds are listed as well. There are two bathrooms. We do not list a master bedroom or master bathroom as we list 4 bedrooms and a bunkroom. The bunkroom is air conditioned and is for sleeping. We welcome the use of our many folding chairs on our screened porch to be used on the upper deck. It is a very enjoyable space. We have chosen not to store furniture there in the event of storms or high winds. The living spaces are open and spacious as mentioned in our previous reviews. There are two full size sofas and a club chair in the den. There is also a table with four chairs as well. Again, the folding chairs on the screened porch can be used throughout the house if extra seating is needed. The kitchen is well equipped with a full set of Wedgewood everyday china, glasses, wine glasses, martini glasses, coffee mugs, graduated plastic mixing bowls, metal mixing bowls, pyrex dishes, a griddle, serving bowls, pots, pans, silverware, wine openers, can openers, cutting boards, knives, salad tongs, kitchen scissors, etc. We cook and entertain large groups all of the time. We are continually adding to our collection for sure!! We always welcome any suggestions. We strive to please our renters and make certain they enjoy our property as much as we do. We do have a short checklist of things to be done upon checkout. They are very important as the maid does not always arrive upon checkout of the renters. These are as follows: turn off both thermostats, lock the doors and return the key, remove all trash to the receptacle at the street, strip the used beds and place sheets and towels in the laundry room and of course remove all personal items. We do provide a washer/ dryer and detergent in the event of any accidents during the stay. All accidents are to be dealt with by the renter. Accidents can cause the need for linens to be replaced if they are not dealt with by the renter. This can result in loss of deposit. In the event that the checklist is not followed, it can result in partial or full forfeiture of the deposit. Again, we strive to maintain a comfortable property and we continue to make improvements as necessary. We do ask that certain rules are followed and that property is not altered or damaged in any way. For example, gluing or taping items to walls, etc. We look forward to serving many more renters!!!

Wonderful Rental for Multiple Families

  • 5 of 5

We took FOUR families to this house and had 7 adults and 9 children running around. There was enough room for all those people without feeling squished into a house. The living areas were comfortable and the outside areas were great as well. The slide was a huge bonus for all the kids, all under 7 years of age. We look forward to renting it again next year.
