Soldotna Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Relax on your deck only 50 feet from the world famous Kenai River after a phenomenal day of fishing. Our unique wilderness setting only minutes from all the amenities of Soldotna will amaze you as you listen to the sounds of nature and look out across the river at a pristine boreal forest. Moose, bear, caribou and more wander through the yard.

Our cabin all has unobstructed views of the Kenai River. Fall asleep to the sounds of the river as it flows right past your front door.

The Sockeye Cabin, with two bedrooms and a bath can sleep 6 (max) with 2 doubles and 2 twins.

The cabin has a full, well equipped kitchen and private deck. Wi-Fi and satellite TV are available in each cabin as well.

The centerpiece of the lodge is the stunning outdoor kitchen and gathering area. A covered deck sports a large gas grill and wrap around bar seating for 12, with a big screen TV. Grill your fresh caught salmon while watching a slide show of your pictures from your day of fishing.

Make use of our fishing cleaning area and vacuum sealer then toss your winter's fish supply into your cabin's designated freezer. Ask your hosts for grilling and smoking suggestions and recipes.

We offer guided fishing charters that cover the Peninsula. Depart from our riverbank on King, Sockeye, and Silver Salmon fishing charters. Halibut, Rockfish, and Lingcod charters are also available. Fish next to brown bear on your fly out charter. Catch your limit of Sockeye right here off the fishing platform. Trophy Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden are found in the Kenai River. Other drainages on the Kenai Peninsula contain Steelhead and Grayling.

Your hosts are longtime birders who love to talk birds! We own and operate Alaska Birding Tours and offer local birding and wildlife viewing and photography trips. Search for Marlows on the Kenai on the internet for more information.

About The Owner

Ken and Judy Marlow,

your hosts at the lodge, are year around residents of Alaska since 1965. Ken is originally from Minnesota, Judy from Michigan. Both are now retired school teachers having taught many years in Alaska. Judy is our chief cook, bookkeeper, organizer, assistant guide, and CEO. Ken's Masters degree in environmental education is still put to good use as he enjoys showing people some of our special places, and especially birds and animals of our area. Ken, a US Coast Guard licensed guide, has access to our son Neil's fleet of boats for occasional guided fishing trips, but mostly Ken concentrates his guiding on wildlife viewing trips and bird watching and photography. His favorite areas are on the more remote parts of the Kenai river. He is on the Board of Directors of the Kenai River Watershed Forum.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 1998

Why The Owner chose

The Kenai Peninsula is a spectacular area of the state that has a little bit of everything Alaska offers. Mountains, ocean, lakes, rivers; it's all here! The fishing is unmatched and yet we are on the road system with all of the urban amenities on could want.

What makes this cabin unique

We LOVE the Kenai River. The river corridor is teeming with life and brings birds, fish and animals right past our doorstep. The seasonal changes are magnificent and we can't think of any place we would rather be. Our stretch of the river is a peaceful stretch of the middle river and relatively underdeveloped. We look across the river to a large unused state parcel with no homes or people. It's like we are in the remote wilderness!
