Stylish and recently redecorated, open-plan one large bed apartment. located on the ground floor of a private gated development in Colville Gardens, a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of Notting Hill, and just 100m distance from Portobello Road.

Contemporary one-bedroom apartment in the heart of Notting Hill, Zone 1. Completely refurbished to a high standard, professionally decorated and newly furnished. The apartment has plenty of natural light.

This apartment accommodates up to 5 people (4 adults and 1 child) 2 adults in the queen size bed, 2 adults in the sofa bed and we can provide a single airbed, very comfortable and with an electric pump or a baby cot for the child which will be assembled in the bedroom upon request.

Located in very safe and eco-friendly neighborhood, the apartment is walking distance from many restaurants, shops, and local supermarkets. Transport by metro/tube and bus, are just a short walking distance away, and if you like cycling, you can grab a 'Boris bike' from the All Saints church docking station conveniently located at your door step.

High quality furnishings, fully fitted contemporary kitchen with fridge and freezer, electric hob and oven.

Flat comes with a digital TV, DVD player, I-pod speakers and a espresso pod machine. There is fiber optic wireless broadband throughout the apartment (WIFI), and a courtesy UK mobile phone for your use during your stay.

The flat was fine, the circumstances were not.

The flat was well situated in Notting Hill and a block away from Portobello Road. There are many pubs; grocery stores; restaurants; and cafes near the premises. There is also a municipal bike rental kiosk next to the premises, which was very convenient. The premises was clean and well maintained.

As others have mentioned, the washroom is a very tight space due to the placement of the hot water heater. I am 6'3" and using the facilities was a significant challenge. I had full disclosure of this issue from the listing description, but I underestimated the challenge.

There was a significant negative aspect of our stay at the flat. The flat was adjacent to a flat that was being completely renovated. Construction/demolition noise started at 0730 every morning and was non-stop throughout the day. This was very frustrating after late nights at the theatre or long days of sight-seeing. We emailed our contact and while he was responsive, he was unable to affect any change.

It was a case of bad timing; however, we did not receive "quiet enjoyment" of the premises, which is unfortunate when the cost of the rental was significant.

The pull out sofa bed is absolutely horrible. It's so hard and uncomfortable. The flat is super tiny also. It should be advertised as a flat for two adults and one or two children. Way to small for four adults.

Great Introduction to London!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment in Notting Hill on our first visit to London. The convenient location made it easy to get around by Tube and on foot - there are 3 Tube stations within a 10 minute walk. Several buses also run through the neighborhood, and were a great way to see more of the surrounding area.

The first floor apartment was clean, welcoming and nicely appointed (although - as noted by other reviewers - the narrow bathroom might be snug for some larger guests). King size bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, although it was a bit awkward to reach the plates and cups which were in a cabinet above the corner sink. (I was also somewhat surprised that there was no real "teapot" provided among the dishes to brew a pot of tea - I improvised using a French press coffee pot, which worked but wasn't what I expected in London!)

We walked quite a lot in the neighborhood to the shops and pubs (Sainsbury's Local for groceries/wine, Granier for bread, Whittard's for tea, the Earl of Lonsdale and the Duke of Wellington for pub lunches) but also headed out to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park on foot. Lovely way to see and get a feel for the area! We also had a very enjoyable dinner at a restaurant called Hereford Road not far away - great food and wonderful service! The Portobello Road Market on the weekend was great fun.

This property is on a quiet residential street, but it is a multi-unit building so some noise from other tenants is to be expected. Unfortunately, during our stay apparently someone was doing late-night renovations in a flat on the floor above, starting several nights around 10:30 PM and running until the early hours of the morning.

John and his team were very helpful and accommodated our request to drop off our luggage early on the day we arrived; they also provided very clear and useful information both before our arrival and in the flat. Everything was well explained and easy to understand.

Perfect for a Business traveler

The team was extremely professional, responsive and patient as I arrived later than expected. The flat was clean and had everything I needed. Hopefully, now Mac users can easily connect to the wifi since that was a struggle for a couple of days (Note: This is not anything to do with the owners or the rental, and with their guidance I was able to implement a fix). The flat is reasonably close to Whole Foods. The proximity to the Portabello Market was fantastic. I loved strolling through the market. As advertised just a 10-minute stroll to a Tube station. Thanks for having me and being great hosts.

Review of apartment for my stay 10-15 December 2015

My adult daughter and I stayed in this lovely Notting Hill apartment 10-15 December 2015. This was our first time using a share service like VRBO/HomeAway and our first time to travel to England so we were a little bit nervous and new to the process.

The apartment was lovely, clean and is as shown with the photos online. I was very impressed with this apartment and the service from John and the ladies.

The apartment is very secure, there is a code to enter the gate, a key to get into the apartment block and two locks to get into the apartment. All windows lock.

The living areas are cosy and were adequate for us. The area for your legs when sitting on the toilet in the bathroom is very cosy, I am a tall largish middle aged woman and could manage to fit on the toilet - just. If you are over 6ft and on the cuddly side, you will find it a squeeze, but doable. The bathroom has a full sized bath which takes up the room in the bathroom. I was happy to have a bit of a squeeze for the toilet to have a bath a couple of nights to soak my sore feet. The bedroom is quite large with a big set of empty drawers and wardrobe and there is plenty of space for luggage.

Ladbroke Grove station is literally a 5 min walk and Notting Hill station took 7 mins. I found the scenic route from Ladbroke Grove the best, wandering up Portobello Road and picking up supplies for breakfast was really easy and pleasant.

The only issue we had was that the wifi was not working when we arrived. I sent an email to John and it was fixed the next day, problem solved.

I would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and family ... in fact I already have. Thank you John.
