The property is just fantastic - nestled on a hilltop with incredible views of the valley and ocean. Wonderful porch to enjoy the sunset. The house is lovely - bright and clean with a large open common area to hang out, cook, and enjoy the views. Maya is fantastic - very accessible, provided clear directions to the property as well as a list of pantry items we were welcome to use. Highly recommended.
Nice clean and organized property. We really enjoyed our stay.
Took a last minute family getaway for MLK weekend. What a treat! The drive through the enchanting forest and steep incline was an adventure. The house was fabulous. Stunning vast views that shifted constantly with the clouds and fog. Great kitchen. Super layout for our three generation family to enjoy games, movies, reading, fire gazing. The beds were heavenly. Nearby hikes were fabulous - coastal bluffs to strenuous climb at Garrapata State Park.
The name is accurate; the views from the house are spectacular.
The kitchen is well-stocked and easy to work in. The WiFi worked fine.
The house is about 3 miles up a twisting, partially dirt road from
the Pacific Coast Highway, about 12 miles south of Carmel-by-the-Sea.
This is a great central location. We had good weather, and we were able
to do extensive hikes at Point Lobos State Park, Andrew Molera State
Park, Garrapatta State Park, and Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park----all great!
This was a fantastic post-Christmas family vacation for my wife and me
and our three adult children.
We loved our stay at Bella Vista. It was clean, cozy, and there was plenty of room. The view from the outdoor deck is absolutely stunning at sunset, definitely something that you shouldn't miss. Loved the wood burning fireplace. Loved little touches like the makeup remover wipes provided and nice soap/ shampoo in the bathrooms. The beds are really comfortable...wish they were a bit bigger but nothing that would deter me from staying here again. We found the utter quiet of the area really magical and rejuvenating. Our favorite thing to do was sitting outside and looking at the stars. If youre looking to party and be rowdy late at night, this is not the place for you. If i was forced to find one thing to critique it's that the location is a bit farther north than I'd prefer...about 20 minutes from the main parts. It makes getting to places like Esalen Hot Springs for a late night soak or going home to clean up before going back out to dinner unlikely. All in all, a lovely stay and I would go back!
I agree with fellow guests; the home is spacious in a great location and in excellent condition. I especially appreciated the Spanish adobe home design and the design, materials and use of natural light in the bathrooms. The drive to property is a slightly winding road through a beautiful redwood forrest. Good facilities for cooking and meal preparation. However, as the stove light is "beyond repair" this should be mentioned in the orientation. The WiFi reception is erratic and don't expect to watch your network TV shows.
