About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-12)

Relax in our large 3700 sq ft, beautifully decorated Eagle Crest Home with a view! Let the kids play in the upstairs game room, while you sit outside on the deck enjoying the blue skies and gorgeous Smith Rock view! If it's chilly out, turn on the stone fireplace and cozy up in the vaulted great room with a 60' flat screen TV, where you are still able to appreciate the stunning view!

We have spent a lot of time exploring local antique shops to decorate the house with a warm, rustic, vintage feel. Our house has 3 bedrooms- the master suite has a king bed, 42' flat screen TV, fireplace, and a private bathroom which includes a soaking tub. A downstairs bedroom has a queen bed with private full bathroom. The other downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, with a full bath just outside the room. There is a small TV room nestled between these two downstairs bedrooms. Upstairs, there is a den with a sofa bed and doors to shut to make private. We also have 2 twin mats (with bedding) to use anywhere. The huge upstairs game room has another sofa bed, as well as a blow up queen mattress. The game room also has a poker table, foosball table, karaoke machine, 52' TV, X-box/games, as well as children/adult board games. On the main floor, we have a kitchen table that seats 6, bar stools, a dining table that seats 7, and a great room with a soaring ceiling! Our kitchen is fully stocked; it even has double ovens! We have an i-pod docking system and wifi. In our garage, there are 3 adult bikes, as well as one child's bike.

Eagle Crest Resort has bike rentals, a golf course, bike and walking trails, nearby fishing at the Deschutes, 3 pools, a water spray park for the kids, and a fitness center. Nearby attractions: Sisters, exploring Bend, hiking Smith Rock, Deschutes River, High Desert Museum, Tumalo State Park, antiquing in downtown Redmond, kayaking, rafting and horseback riding. And of course in the winter, there's skiing, sledding, snow shoeing etc all within an approximate 30-45 minute drive.

About The Owner

We are two families with 5 kids between us. We love the outdoors and the ability to get away from the stress of the work week and relax.

The Owner purchased this house in 2011

Why The Owner chose Central Oregon

Eagle Crest offers a central location to numerous different activities that includes something to do for everybody. Whether it be hiking, fishing, swimming, antiquing and biking in the summer or sledding, skiing, snowshoeing or simply relaxing in the winter, Eagle Crest is central to it all. We love the privacy of the house we bought while at the same time having the ability to conveniently pursue any of these activities. Please check out the eagle crest website for on- site activities, as well as many other activities in the area!

What makes this house unique

We love to sit on the adirondack chairs on the deck outside the master suite in the morning, sipping coffee, listening to the birds chirp, enjoying the mountain views- perfect way to start the day!!! While staying at our house, you will have access to the 3 pools (6 complimentary passes per day provided). Additional pool passes can be purchased for $7 per person, per day. There is a beautiful golf course on the resort, as well as ample bike/walking trails. We have 3 adult bikes and 1 child's bike in our garage for you to use. There are also bike rentals within the resort. Our house has a long, private driveway, very safe for the kids! Ours love to ride bikes, play chase, and draw with chalk here! We enjoy walking around Sisters (our favorite place for dinner is Three Creeks Brewery), shop historic downtown Redmond, explore downtown Bend, or walk the trails along the Deschutes River at Tumalo State Park. *Wanderlust tours is a great on-line site to explore if you want to to book a group outing such as kayaking, canoeing, exploring caves etc....

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have been coming to this house for three years in a row now and we don't intend to stop. We are three families with nine children between us ages 3-10. The kids have a blast being in their "own area" above the garage where they sleep, watch movies, and have fun etc. and the grown ups enjoy the beautiful house and it's surroundings. The separation between is both peaceful and appropriate since 9 kids can be somewhat boisterous! The bedrooms below are somewhat small, but do have there own bathrooms. There is a large master on the top level which is obviously the most grand with the largest bathroom and walk in shower and soaking tub. The house has always been clean and in excellent condition. The owners are wonderful to deal with and we've been so thankful to have such a great vacation to look forward to each year. We have made many memories in this house and look forward to many more. If you are a family, or a family with extended family, this house is for you. The kitchen is large with a sitting island and two tables near by which gives plenty of seating. There are large windows everywhere allowing plenty of sunlight and enjoyment of the views. There are plentiful bike trails as part of Eagle Crest and a wonderful pool for the kids less than a mile up the road. There is also a fully stocked laundry room to keep up with all the dirty laundry and linens. Overall a great house!!

This is our second stay at the Bitterbrush Lodge. What a lovely place. The views are lovely. The kitchen is nicely stocked and equipped. The master bedroom is lovely with a very comfortable bed. There is plenty to do at Eagle Crest. And Redmond, Bend and Sisters aren't that far away either.

We live on a small farm with lots to do. This trip was about just slowing down, enjoying eachother, watching a few movies, going to the rodeo that was in town that weekend, and visiting with friends and family in centeral Oregon. This property lended itself to all of that so well.

Can't recommend it any higher to anyone .

I want to move in!

  • 5 of 5

This is a gorgeous home in a great location from which to explore central Oregon.

I always rent vacation homes due to having a large-ish family and NO desire to bunk up in groups. Some people figure the accommodations don't really matter during vacation if you are busy all the time, but for me, they certainly do. I want better than my current home! My vacation past-time is figuring out if I can "live" at the destination or at least desire a second home there.

Bitterbrush Lodge more than fills the ticket--A truly lovely, large home, well appointed in beds, linens, entertainment, and amenities. Not only are the home and Eaglecrest lovely, but the regional area has something for everyone. There is the white water rafting, hiking and climbing for the energetic, as well as the floating downriver, walking, and sightseeing for the relaxed. The perfect family vacation where the members pursue their favorite activities and then meet at Bitterbrush to relax and chat about their days.

Thank you for making this home available for temporary stays. We are coming back in October!!

Bitterbrush Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We loved our visit at Eagle Crest, especially our stay at Bitterbrush Lodge. The owner was responsive, and the property was modern and immaculate. The view from their home is wide open - spectacular sunrises and sunsets. We were especially fond of the trails available within the neighborhood and along the Deschutes. We also appreciated that it was close to Sisters. Our Garmin got us around the first day, but we didn't need it after that. When we got home, we commented that, if we could turn around and go back, we would.

The Jackson Group

  • 5 of 5

Bitterbrush Lodge is more than's elegant, comfortable and the flow for entertaining and personal space is wonderful.

We had a large group of people gathered for Thanksgiving along with day visitors. There were football watchers in the great room, teenagers in the game room, cribbage and 10,000 players on both dining tables and cooks in the kitchen. There are many games provided including U-No, Apples to Apples, Pictionary and several others.

The views and wildlife are amazing...deer visiting us daily off the back decks...even a 4 point buck! The sunrises were incredibly colorful and the assortment of local birds kept the birdwatchers enthralled.

The kitchen was fairly well equipped although I did have to have a few extra items brought for the holiday meal preparation. There is only one small sauce pot, 2 large pots and I believe 3 skillets. There is a crockpot, 2 electric griddles, a coffee grinder, and lots of large spatulas, spoons etc.. There is plenty of dinnerware and silverware except small teaspoons.

My communication with the owners of Bitterbrush was always professional and friendly. They were responsive when there was an issue, due to no fault of theirs I might add. I would stay here again and am in fact already planning our next trip.

All in all I would highly recommend Bitterbrush Lodge for a carefree and enjoyable time in the Bend/Redmond area.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

The home was beautiful and comfortable. We had a great time with 11 of our family members there. We never felt crowded. It is also close to one of the sports complexes, so getting to the pool was fast. We will rent again if we have a group this large coming.
