Welcome to our Boat House

Come and experience living above the water in our Boat House on the Sakonnet River. Gourmet kitchen, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 6).

My husband and I have a love for Sustainably Renovating & Restoring forgotten homes around the world. Recently we have settled in our gorgeous little new find 'Tiverton Rhode Island'!

Words cannot describe our love for this "Boat House"

When we found this forgotten home - it was half in the water. Yes thats right, it had been left for dead and we couldn't have that. After a year and a half later of blood, sweat and tears this became the perfect meeting place for our family. With more than a handful of our most precious family memories made there.

Now our Boat House has been a special place for our guests and their families! Newly rennovated with the highest quality Chefs Appliances it is perfect to grab some fresh seafood just up the road and cook it either inside on your 36" Viking gas stove or out on the fire pit and or Gas Grill. Grab the kayaks provided and head out from your own small beach/waterfront access for a kayak and or a swim or grab some rods and bait from the shop up the road and catch some Striped Bass out the front of the cottage. Or walk to a few of our favorite restaurants right from the cottage. Spectacular views from almost every room.

Our Cottage includes all Luxury pressed bedding, linens and amenities as well as a fully stocked pantry. All you need to bring are some food and clothing :) **Also ask for our Moore House experience RI like a local list** we have a great list compiled of all of our favorite things Rhode Island has to offer and why our town of Tiverton RI the best and most convenient place to see everything Rhode Island has to offer.

By renting 'The Boathouse' you are helping to Restore forgotten homes & helping us save historic properties around Coastal Rhode Island.

Restful, relaxing, peaceful!!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful house! Truly a gem! The view and sound of the water is so tranquil. The Moore family are fabulous hosts with much attention to detail for a very welcoming feel. My family really enjoy the hospitality and what a great location. Close to Little Compton's South Shore Beach and to Newport's great dinning and entertainment!

The cottage is fabulous in every way. Beautiful and luxuriously appointed!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved out stay! The cottage is both exquisitely beautiful and relaxed and comfortable -- a hard balance to achieve. We were a little sorry we had to spend so much time away from it at the wedding we had come down for. We hope to come back to enjoy Tiverton, the water (Kayaks and water front) and all the options for family fun and enjoyment that this perfectly supplied and appointed cottage offers. A big thank you to the Moore family!!!

Beautifully restored home in a perfect location right ON the water.

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the boathouse was wonderful. From the warm welcome with fresh flowers, treats left by the Moore family and beautifully presented, and music playing, to the gorgeous views all around, it was easy to leave the stress behind. It was the perfect home base for all our wedding events in the area and a place to relax afterwards. Sharon and her family really thought out every possible need and comfort which was very much appreciated with our busy schedule. It was also a stunning location for photos of our daughter getting ready for her wedding! It was very quiet and the beds were very comfortable with high quality linens as well. It was hard to leave and we hope to return again soon!

Thank you Sharon and the Moore family!

Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

After a few days in Boston for a conference, we arrived at The Boat House ready to relax...and that is just what we did! We had planned to tour some mansions in Newport and hit the beach one day....but we did none of that! We enjoyed the sweetness of the cottage, kayaked on the river, ate very well, and rested in the sunshine...something my husband NEVER does!

Sharon and her family know how to pamper you with their special little touches, and the communication was the best that we have ever experienced. As I write this review in the midst of all the craziness in getting our house ready to sell, I'm really missing The Boat House and that wee window by the bed and the peaceful sound of the lapping water. Thank you, Sharon! It was just what we needed!

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and 2 teenagers stayed here for two days while visiting colleges in Rhode Island. The location was perfect for this, being close to all the majors schools in the area. We left a day in between visits to sightsee in Newport (20 minute drive to the beach, cliff walk and downtown).

The house itself was amazing. The rooms are every bit as nice as the pictures make them out to be. We were able to watch TV, kayak, read out on the patio and generally relax after a long day of visits. Having 3 bedrooms was just what we needed.

The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make dinner the first night, including all the little things like spices and cooking spray. The Moore's even provided everything needed to make smores (Including a fire pit on the patio with wood).

I could continue on from here, but by now you should get the idea. Terrific house...great location...super nice owners...priced right...we are definitely hoping our daughter decides to go to one of the Rhode Island schools so we can come back often!

Beautiful waterfront area Tiverton RI, The perfect undiscovered hub of Rhode island. Convenient to Newport & Little Compton and yet the heritage/ history is untouched.

Everything you need within the area from wineries, golfing, tennis, boating and water sports, farm tours, hiking & museums. Our favorite thing to do is get on the water as much as possible.
