I recently retired after 35 years in the fire service as a Captain. I have traveled all over the world with my wife. I love going to the ocean, it seems to call me there.
Tony Balsa purchased this house in 2010
I have been diving in this area for 35 years and I always wanted to have a home here to stay extended periods. It is so dramatic and natural without too many people. There is wonderful fishing and diving within a short walk to the end of the driveway. It is so restful to go to sleep listening to the ocean waves in the distance and feeling cool ocean air surrounding you, waking up invigorated and ready to meet the day excited to explore the areas nearby.
The home spacious, clean, very comfortable and next to the ocean. There are many nearby sites to see like historic Fort Ross, two hundred years old next year, numerous parks, beaches, wineries and excellent restaurants. Very relaxing!
House was as advertised - spacious, clean, well-stocked. This house would be perfect for 2 couples or families, as there are 2 separate sections of the house. The views from the deck and end of the driveway are amazing. The owner was very responsive and contacted us before check in and after arrival to make sure all of our needs were met.
We visited the Timber Cove house for 3 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The flanked house layout worked well for our two families, letting us each take a side. It also made it easy to have a "kids" side and "adults" side later in the evening, when they wanted to watch movies while we were cooking dinner.
The kitchen was well stocked with cooking gear and dishes--even a salad spinner and a crock pot. Each side had a small 4 person table and chairs, so we moved one set up to the main kitchen side so that we could eat all together; very easy. The house felt clean and cared for.
Proximity to Salt Point and the ocean was wonderful. Kids and adults alike enjoyed the sauna and hot tub; both were easy to operate with clear instructions. Tony the owner was great and easy to work with. At three days stay, we we'rent able to use the dryer which would have been nice for the wet towels. Fortunately, it wasn't raining during our visit!
My only "complaint" would be that we had to stand in the entryway to get a good WiFi signal; perhaps the router could be moved to a more central location to provide good service throughout the house. On the other hand, we didn't go for a coastal vacation to be parked on the internet so it wasn't really an issue!
We will definitely go back and probably stay even longer next time. Thanks, Tony!
It's work to get to, the road is good but curvy, but once your there, yes! Nice piece of coastline to follow, very scenic. Make sure you bring all your needs if cooking in, food that is. It's 40 min to a full size grocery store. There is great places to eat though near by. The hot tub was just like mine at home, very nice. We didn't use th sauna. Kitchen is full staffed so you can cook anything. We have a full 5 course thanksgiving dinner there. Plenty of hiking to be had but beware of ticks. Overall it was a great family vacation spot, thanks Tony!
Awesome rental house! This place had everything you could ask for and then some! Really enjoyed both the hot tub and the sauna. We will be coming back again. And also appreciated the call from the owner on our arrival to confirm all was good and there were no hiccups. Thanks for a great time!
Three couples spent three delightful nights at this beautiful home on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific. The home is perfectly set up for a relaxing stay. The hot tub and deck were sensational. The kitchens and living areas (there are two of each!) are well equipped. The entire home is very clean and has a wonderful ambiance. The owner was responsive to questions before we arrived and actually called after we arrived to make sure that everything was fine. Everything was fine!
The fishing and ab diving were spectacular- as was the weather.
We will return!
This home was conveniently situated for its nearness to an event we had to attend at a beach/campground just north of Fort Ross. It turned out to be ideal for us 5 adults and a 1 year old. Roomy, very clean, well equipped and decorated, and had good sound insulation. Owner Tony Balsa had sent us good detailed driving and access instructions, and called later to the house phone (no cell service in this area) to make sure we had arrived and if we had any questions. We were very pleased with his attention to good service.
As this is a rather remote area, nearby amenities are limited to a rather expensive restaurant/inn a mile away and a small mini-market/deli within walking distance.
This is a beautiful sparsely populated area with dramatic natural landscapes and crisp clean air to breath. The area is world reknown for the Abalone caught there and mushroom hunting in the fall. Fort Ross is a must-see as it was the only Russian settlement within the future United Staes/California boundary established in 1812. There are many festivals there throughout the year.
