Our family booked this cabin at the last minute with ease! Searching for an affordable space was monotonous. Hidden fees & long response times from other owners made for exhausting searches. But, as soon as we messaged the Blevins they responded in such an accomodating manner that it felt like exactly what we were looking for. The site pics do not do this property justice, it is beautiful! The drive through town is quaint. Arriving up the hill to see the cabin on the mountainside sent exciting screams throughout our vehicle from our kids. Our goal was to bring our Florida kids to see snow. We arrived in the early morning hours & were in awe as the sun rose through the treetops. This is a beautiful space that you do not want to miss. The Blevins have gone above & beyond to consider every detail when welcoming visitors. We loved morning coffee on the porch rockers, then walking the trails throughout the property so much so that we opted out of leaving the area for more snow so that we could explore the beautiful Blevins Mtn more. We slept comfortably, enjoyed the cabin's games & comforts of home when we stayed longer that day. We hope to make it back one day. This place was PERFECT! We are so grateful to the Blevins for their hospitality ♡
Wonderful place to stay! Beautiful cabin with everything your family needs for a lovely getaway. The owners are extremely kind and helpful and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Our family of 7 thoroughly enjoy our weekend in Lansing!
Our family was headed to Jefferson for a family wedding and thought it would be more fun to stay together in a cabin instead of separate hotel rooms. We definitely found the perfect place to be together! We were so thankful to have found it!! We had never used VRBO before, but Barry and Connie made everything so easy. Communication was great. The location was so peaceful and beautiful that we hated to leave. We hope to visit again soon.
MY wife and I have been going to the NC mountains at least 3 times a year for the last 4 years to enjoy their beauty. We were amazed at this cabin and how comfortable and beautiful it is. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities you would expect and more! The location is perfect for quiet and relaxing times ion the porch listening to the birds and if you are lucky getting a chance to see the deer and other fauna walking by the cabin. Barry and Connie were in constant contact with us making sure we knew how to get to the property and when we would arrive to ensure all was in place. Their courtesy made us feel like we had known them for a lifetime. We loved this cabin so much that we are returning in two weeks with my mother so she can enjoy the same peace and beauty we did. We are looking forward to our next stay and future stay on this beautiful cabin!
Wonderful place to spend a quite vacation in the mountains. Feels more like your own cabin than a vacation rental.
Barry and Connie were wonderful in their ability to make you feel at home and relaxed in their cabin. We hope to go back soon and take the family.
My husband and I spent Labor Day weekend at the "Ore Banks" and loved every minute of it. The house is homey, exceptionally neat and clean, and is extremely private. Only forest surrounds you, and the sounds of insects at night and birds in the morning , along with the nearby stream, are almost the only sounds you hear. There are trails up the mountain, with wildflowers and birds, and we had a great morning hike up to the top of the mountain where there is a picnic shelter, horseshoe pit, and campfire area. The house has very comfortable furniture, a well-equipped kitchen, and a nice wrap-around porch and deck on two sides. I loved sitting on the porch with coffee in the morning and hot tea at night. We had perfect weather, a great relief from the heat back home in Virginia. Hosts Barry and Connie are wonderful. They live down the road so they are near if you need them, but they basically give you the run of the place. Communications prior to our trip were prompt and informative, with good directions to the house.(Don't trust GPS in the mountains!) We drove into West Jefferson one night for hamburgers at Black Jack's, which were very good. Most of the shops were closed by the time we got there, but the little town looks like a fun place to shop and sight-see. But the house and property were so relaxing, we wanted to spend most of the time there. We are already planning a second trip so we can enjoy Ore Banks for a longer time.
