Idyllic

  • 5 of 5

What a great spot! And what a lovely home. This is literally a log cabin with a wonderfully rustic feel, but cozy and comfortable. The back porch is an incredible refuge. We sat out there, listening to the birds and taking in the stillness.... A fantastic find. Also, outstandingly attentive and responsive hosts!

Served our needs and then some

  • 5 of 5

We were extremely happy with this secluded cabin our two year old grandson was fascinated by the loft area where the crib was which worked out perfectly. We were able to take advantage of the deck area to relax and enjoy the solitude. The nights are as quiet as you can imagine with only the hoot of an owl to break the silence. We were able to see our grandson get his first taste of wild raspberries that grow on the property and also pick his first little green apple off a tree at the top of the hill in the pasture across the road from the cabin. Just want to say thank you for a great weekend in the Kingdom.

Peaceful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Such a beautiful place! The cabin is secluded in the woods for complete serenity, yet close to so many great locations. I have been visiting the NEK of Vermont for over 20 years and this is by far my favorite place to stay up there. The cabin has full amenities to make it feel just like home. I look forward to staying again soon!

Nice secluded cabin stay

  • 5 of 5

Stayed 1 night in December to be somewhat close to Hill Farmstead brewing. Excellent communications/responsiveness w/ host, who recommended some tasty/fun nearby restaurants with charming quirks. No issues w/ deposit refund. Heating worked well but it does take a few hours for the entire place to really warm up to t-shirt comfort-levels in the winter. Road to the house was plowed but on a somewhat steep hill, which we got up in a regular car with all season tires (could appear daunting at first for city drivers). We experienced some bathroom odors, but host indicated they were not previously present. All-in-all, a nice, secluded winter stay, and what must be a really nice summer stay location, with a very pleasant and responsive host.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for staying and writing a review. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay. Hill Farmstead is a great place to go! We had the bathroom checked out. Yes the road can seem daunting so we will mention that more to other renters. We hope you will come back again!

Perfect Remote Vermont Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin in the remote North East Kingdom. Went for 2 days, wish we had rented it for a week. Anna and Jeremy made us feel welcomed and wanting for nothing. Everything was extremely clean and the beds were comfy.

Relaxation In the Sap Lines

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful property. The cabin had everything we needed. Perfect space for two couples and a baby. Speaking of the baby this house was set up great for the baby. There were gates where they needed to be that were easy to retract, toys, movies for kids.

The kitchen was set up well with all we needed to cook some pretty serious meals. The grill worked well to cook some steaks. The bathroom was large and this place seemed to have a never ending hot water tank.

Both bedrooms are spacious and well set up. The queens beds served us well. We'll be back for sure.

Thank you to Young Family.

One Thing to note: The road to get to this cabin is intense. There's no way you could get any kind of sport sedan or sports car, really anything lowered to this location. My Acura sedan had no issue even in wet conditions, but I could see myself bottoming out in other cars I've driven.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your great review! We are so glad you all enjoyed yourselves. We know from having kids it is nice to have things there. Glad that all came in handy for you. We will add something about the road and let others know. We forget sometimes growing up there our whole life that the road can be tricky. :) We look forward to having you back in the future!
