About Stephanie

My husband & I, along with our three children fell in love with The Cabin and the location the very first time we drove out to it. We enjoy the country life while being able to walk down to the beach in the summer, enjoy the sights of the autumn foliage, play in the winter snow and watch the forest unfold in the spring. We both have full time jobs and the children have extra curricular activities that keep us busy, so while we cannot always enjoy camping at The Cabin, we would love to share it's beauty and splendor with people who have similar interests as our family!

Stephanie purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Stephanie chose Thousand Islands

Location, location, location! An ol' dirt road runs alongside the property for family walks with the dog while the paved road along the front of the property allows easy accessibility. A walk to the beach or Big Bear store is less than 5 minutes! We love the Great Outdoors! The cabin is built like a fortress, it's private, somewhat secluded and has over 17 acres of property to venture out in and explore.

What makes this cabin unique

Come see for yourself! Hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, boating, skiing, swimming, sight seeing, Salmon River Water Falls, Winona State Forest, Salmon River, Salmon River Reservoir all surround you here! One of the Great Lakes, Lake Ontario is a within a 30 minute drive. The Adirondack mountains are within a one hour drive.

Absolutely everything we could have hoped for and more! It's truly a beautiful cabin. A feeling of off the grid, but not to much. Our time passed way to fast! We have been a couple for 8 years. I was in fact floored by a proposal. Thank you Stephanie for sharing this wonderful piece of paradise. *The memories made at Salmon River WILL last a lifetime!!! We hope to make this a annual stay!

Just the most perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful cabin provided a wonderful backdrop for our wedding. We knew we wanted to elope with a few family and friends but had a hard time finding a place that really stuck to our simple roots until we found the cabin! We booked a porta potty per suggestion from the owner and it worked out perfectly. Stephanie really went above and beyond in the details of the cabin to reflect the day. We had a unique need for the cabin however we look forward to booking again for a stay. It's a great place to get away from it all!!

The best vacation destination we could have hoped for

  • 5 of 5

Last year, my wife and I spent our honeymoon in this cabin, and we loved it so much that we decided we want to come back every year for our anniversary. So, needless to say, we had expectations that our experience would be just as good this time as it was last time. We were once again completely blown away. This cabin is beautiful, tranquil, and fun. There is also plenty to do in the area, so you can plan fun packed days out, or just stay in for a relaxing, lazy day. We do both when we come. My father passed away a couple of weeks ago following a tragic accident, and we almost didn't make the trip, but my wife and I agreed we both needed to be in the cabin, and I have to say I'm glad we did. It's so peaceful, and healing, and just what we needed to refocus ourselves after two weeks of grieving. I would recommend this cabin to ANYONE looking for a nice quiet time in the woods. The whole area is packed with natural beauty. All the locals we've encountered are so nice and welcoming. We will be back, again and again, and again, as long as Stephanie is willing to rent it out to us. Thank you so much Stephanie, my wife and I can't even begin to explain just how much your cabin means to us. We absolutely will be in touch again next year.

My wife doesn't want you to ever get rid of that amazing couch :)
