About the property

Sleeps: 4 Bedrooms: 1 Bathrooms: 1

This luxurious, one bedroom apartment is set apart from all others as it is the only one of its kind right on the world famous Santa Fe Plaza. Built in the late 1800's, this upstairs apartment is freshly remodeled and decorated and steeped in Santa Fe history. Walk out the door to the shops, restaurants and merchants on The Plaza…or even Indian Market or Spanish Market if you hit the date just right. The historic La Fonda Hotel is directly across the street and the renown St. Francis Cathedral is a few steps away from the front door.

You will find yourself immersed in the unique culture of Santa Fe as you reside in this treasured location. It offers approximately 800 square feet of classic New Mexico style. The bedroom has a King bed, closet, flat screen television, dresser and cozy reading chair. The kitchen is stocked with a stainless steel refrigerator and freezer with an ice maker, a stove, dishwasher and large toaster oven. It conveniently offers dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker and…don’t forget the blender, pitcher and glasses for Margaritas and Sangria!

The professional interior design of the home plays off of our magnificent turquoise blue skies here in New Mexico. You will be surrounded with precious artifacts of the area as well as award winning original pieces of art work, which serve to add to the ambience of your stay.

The living room with its large picture windows looks right out to The Plaza, La Fonda and St. Francis Cathedral! It is complete with a lovely leather sleeper sofa, reading chair, dining table and seating for guests. A gorgeous but decorative only (not wood burning) kiva fireplace adds to the ambience. The living room also provides a second flat screen television with multiple channels and Wi-Fi for your convenience.

The bathroom is equipped with a travertine stone shower, vessel sink, toilet and ample counter/storage space for a comfortable stay. This is a perfect location for any time of year…whether you plan to join the summer festivities of cultural markets and The Santa Fe Opera, or want to snow ski/board at the Santa Fe Ski Basin or Taos in the winter. The Fall and Spring are just as delightful to enjoy the fine dining, shopping, art galleries, multiple outdoor activities (mountain biking, hiking, fly fishing, etc) and special festivities such as the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.

Parking is available at the La Fonda Hotel right across the street for $15 a night.

About Wendy Kapp

A note from Wendy Kapp- Owner of Two Casitas Santa Fe Vacation Rentals

Having been raised in Chicago, my soul longed for the massive blue skies and mountains I first saw when my mother, well-known watercolor artist Phyllis Kapp of Waxlander Gallery, introduced me to this magnificent area when I was 6 years old.

While returning west in 1975, I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico once again. I found the people here, especially back in '75, to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. My extensive knowledge from living here for since 1975 makes me the perfect, local hostess to give you tips on making your stay memorable. I hope you come to love Santa Fe and, in-turn Two Casitas, as much as I do.

Why Wendy Kapp chose Santa Fe

Location, location, location is why I chose these homes for our visitors. We want our guests to have the convenience of walking everywhere.

What makes this house unique

When you stay with Two Casitas you stay like a local, not like a tourist, and experience Santa Fe like you live here. Who knows, maybe you will someday!

Fabulous Accommodations in heart of Santa Fe

  • 5 of 5

One can get all around Santa Fe using free shuttles or park your car free across the street. There are large rooms with real art everywhere you look. Full kitchen with all equipment if you want to eat in. Lovely living room overlooking La Fonda hotel where we used to stay. Comfortable king bed and pull out leather couch. Bottle of wine waiting for your arrival. Excellent staff. Love this place.

Truly home away from home!

First time staying here but won't be the last! Normally stay in hotels around the plaza but this hidden jewel is fabulous! Walking distance to everything, attentive owners and beautifully decorated. Would love to know where they got their bedding...lovely and so soft!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review! We're always glad when we convert people away from hotels, because vacation rentals always make you feel more immersed in the city. I'm not sure where they got the bedding, but I will try to find out. We hope Two Casitas can host your next trip to Santa Fe

we loved this charming casita

  • 4 of 5

The location could not be more perfect. We loved staying here. Very cute kitchen, nice bathroom with great shower, plenty of space in the bedroom and living/ dining area. The art pieces added to the charm and enhanced the feel of the southwest. We have stayed across the street at LaFonda many times so this property made access to all of the attractions of the plaza equally accessible. The only thing we really wished for was an outdoor balcony so that we could sit outside during our stay.

Wonderful!!

  • 5 of 5

Great staying right on the plaza! Walked to the "Shed" for lunch and later down to the ice cream shop. People watching on the plaza is always fun. Although there is a kitchen in the apartment we loved picking up sweets for breaksfast across the apartment at the Pastery Shop. Can not wait to stay at this apartment again.

Yes we would recommend this apartment to friends.
