I've lived in Dallas for 20 years. There is so much to see and do!
Julie A purchased this cottage in 2008
Perfect location if you want to experience the fun part of Dallas, and live like a local.
Only a few blocks to hundreds of restaurants, bars and shopping.
My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay
So much better than any hotel in that price range. The guest house was clean, comfortable, with warm blankets, and toiletries available in case you forget something...felt very much at home.. It is conveniently located right off of the highway in the coolest neighborhood, with great food choices two blocks away! Didn't get to meet Julie or her doggies but since we were pretty tired at the end of the day we were grateful for the privacy. Thank you Julie, hope we get to stay in your place again. It is perfect!
This homestay served our needs while we stopped over in Dallas while on holiday from New Zealand. Although we did not have any contact from the host while there, we had all that was required supplied. There was a good variety of visitor information, maps etc in the homestay which were helpful.
We enjoyed our brief stay and would definitely return, it's located in a quiet residential street, close to transport and an easy walk to shops and restaurants. It is also an easy walk to the train if you would like a nice walk. The unit has everything necessary to feel at home. The location is very quiet with no road noise.
This was a great location for getting around the downtown area of Dallas. The street it is on is grand and filled with lovely older homes and huge trees, very nice! The accommodations were adequate but dated. The place is due for a remodel and upgrade in furniture. For our purpose it was adequate but I wouldn't have wanted to stay there over a few days as it wasn't that fancy.
We had limited contact with owner but I didn't get the impression she was talkative. We did ask for more coffee and she did ground some up for us. As far as things in the bungalow, there was shampoo, body wash, some beer and odds and ends left from previous occupants which was nice. There wasn't a dishwasher or washer/dryer but we managed! We did struggle a bit on how to use the dehumidifier (like how to drain it) and it seemed like a bigger one would be better because without it it was hot in the place. There were a few lightbulbs out (we left her a note) but most other things seemed to be in working order.
I would recommend the place on price and location but if you like a fancier place, pass on this one.
Great little place. Very clean and comfy. Julie is sweet and accommodating.
Walking distance to fantastic restaurants, bars and shopping. This is the sweet spot of Dallas!
