This Charming vacation home in Cape Vincent, Thousand Island area of New York is one block from the St. Lawrence River, a public boat launch and a wonderful park area where the sunsets are extraordinary. This area is great for fishing, swimming and touring. Bring your bicycles and kayaks. Enjoy barbecuing on our back deck or cooking in our newly renovated kitchen.
Drive 30 minutes west to find shopping malls, movies, and all types of restaurants. Go east to Clayton and find a gorgeous State Park with a fantastic beach. Walk into town and hop on a ferry to Kingston Canada. All types of watercraft rentals are available from nearby marinas. Enjoy a night out at Sackets Harbor and Alexandria Bay or stay home and enjoy our quaint little town.
I am a simple person who has worked hard and raised two children. I look forward to slowing down a bit eventually, but for now I am still performing as a DJ and maintaining my home and this rental property.
Theresa Koch purchased this house in 1982
This vacation area has been associated with our family for generations as a retreat from the city to an area where you could swim and fish and walk along the streets in peace. The friendly nature and calm surroundings seems to (till this day) be good for the soul.
I love the location of our home. It's great to be able to walk into town or to the park area and just sit and watch the sun set. Within five minutes we can rent any type of boat or go to Willson's Bay and just swim. With no hills in town I find I can still manage a bike hike out to the Light house at Tibbits Point and yes I've always been a kind of health nut. There is nothing like exhaustion followed by a barbecue on the deck.
This was our second year renting this house and we have already booked for next year. my friends and I find Theresa a pleasure to rent from. The house is clean and we especially love the large eat in kitchen. The house is in a nice location in the town close enough to walk to all the restaurants and shops in town and also is located on the side of town where you can launch your boat or hang out at the beach area. Looking forward to our stay there next summer!
If you're looking for a place to vacation on the St. Lawrence River this home in Cape Vincent is one you should consider. It has all the comforts of home and is within a block of a very convenient boat launch. Cape Vincent is a quiet little town that really allows you to relax. The house is within easy walking distance to the town's amenities. Would definitely rent this house again.
We had a fantastic time in the very spacious house. The kids had their own place to play while the adults could cook or just relax.
We were very disappointed with the quality of this property. The musty/moldy odor made it impossible for us to stay more than 2 nights even though we booked for 2 weeks. There were air fresheners in every room to try and conceal the smell, but they did not mask the odor. The house is in need of repair and some new furniture. The profile needs some more pictures to show the outside of the house and the bedrooms, etc.
We stayed in this house for two weeks. It was the perfect location for a fishing vacation - so close to many boat ramps. It was also an easy walk into town, which was charming. The house had all of the amenities we needed, including wi-fi! A great find and Theresa was wonderful to deal with. We will definitely stay here again.
