MOUNTAINSIDE hot tub! UPGRADED flat-screen televisions and Wifi! LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! Welcome back satisfied guests! Returning guests, ask about our loyalty discount! First time visiting us? Check out our reviews, map, video, and photos; all, on this website. Welcome!

The contemporary, comfortable, and convenient accommodations of the Rendezvous Hideaway are attached to the owner's main house, but privately locked-off with it's own parking and private entrance. It is located in the heart of Teton Village, at the base of the world-class Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Plot the address (3456 W McCollister) on any mapping website to see just how close you really are. This is the closest private residence to the Tram!

The property was featured in the Summer 2007 issue of Teton Home and Living magazine. Originally built in 1966, it was one of the first homes in Teton Village. A major renovation and large addition was completed in 2005, and included the private hideaway guest wing. All this is located just steps from the Winter and Summer activities offered in and around Jackson Hole's resort Village.

NOW ACCEPTING CREDIT CARDS, securely through VRBO's secure, online booking and payment processing service.

You will RENT DIRECTLY FROM THE OWNER (Mike Daus), who will personally respond to your inquiry, not an agent or representative; and, the rates are competitively priced. Please check the calendar for up-to-date availability. The owner has twenty years of experience with investing and managing rental property in Jackson Hole, and holds an active Wyoming Associate Broker real estate license. The owner is also a retired firefighter; and, PSIA certified ski instructor, available for private and group lessons of all ability levels.

The entrance to the Hideaway is from a private deck, complete with it's own hot tub. Enjoy views both up the mountain, and of the Jackson Hole valley below from the private front balcony. Plus, wildlife visits are common, so bring a camera! The large great room with vaulted ceilings is bright with natural light; and, the Hideaway is warmed by state-of-the-art hydronic floor heating with individual controls in each room.

The comfortable living space is enhanced with a large (cable) television; and, there's an iPod/iPhone dock for playing your favorite music (MP3 or IOS device not provided).

CHEF'S KITCHEN: The contemporary open kitchen is perfect for conversation while creating culinary masterpieces. Dining takes place on a raised elliptical, 5-6 seat dining bar surrounding the large cooking island. Upgraded range/oven in December 2013.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: Both bedrooms have large closets. Recently upgraded, the first bedroom has a king-sized bed and cable TV. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed. Overlooking the living space is a warm sleeping loft with a trio of twin beds accessed by a fixed ship's-style ladder--great for kids.

KEEPING ORGANIZED: In the hallway to the bedrooms is a full size Whirlpool washer and dryer; as well as, a linen closet, and a divided bath, where the toilet and tub (with shower) are separated by an interior door from the sink/vanity area.

The Hideaway is furnished with wireless internet, luxury linens, bath amenities, a boot dryer, and the kitchen is completely stocked with dishes, cookware, and coffee maker; as well as, coffee filters, napkins, paper towels, and garbage bags. No need to buy water bottles either--Teton Village's water supply is some of the best tasting water in the area! Appliances include a full size refrigerator, freezer with ice-maker, dishwasher, built-in microwave, electric oven and gas range.

Plus there's instant hot water at the sink and an in-sink disposer. Housekeeping is provided upon departure for stays up to one week, and additional services can be arranged (chef, groceries, catering, mid-stay cleaning, professional event planning, etc.).

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! All that Teton Village has to offer is only a few minutes away by foot including the Mangy Moose and Four Seasons Resort--it actually takes longer if you drive! In addition to the ski resort, you'll have easy access to nearby shopping, dining, nightlife, spas, sightseeing, and more. The entrance to Grand Teton National Park is one mile from the front door, Yellowstone is one hour away, and the town of Jackson is a beautiful 20 minute drive.

Many guests like the freedom of a rental car to visit other attractions in the valley, but others rely on the Jackson Hole START Bus ('transit with a view!') which accesses the Town of Jackson with its additional shopping, restaurants and bars. The Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) is serviced year round and seasonally by American, Delta, Frontier and United; and, is about 30-40 minutes away by car, shuttle, or taxi

At this time parking for one vehicle is provided; however, additional parking may be available upon request.

Keywords: The 'Rendezvous Hideaway,' is located a very short walking distance to the Village Commons with incredible mountain views and a PRIVATE HOT TUB! Offering a chalet-style, mountain-side home with modern lodge style architecture. Closest house to the Tram! Contemporary, comfortable, and convenient. As good as ski in/out can get!

About Mike Daus

This area has been my home for nearly forty years. In the early 70’s my parents brought my siblings and me out West and enrolled us in the local schools. We spent part of the year here, and part of the year in Ohio. In the late 80’s I moved back to the area permanently, working briefly in the travel industry before getting involved in real estate appraising, brokering, investing, managing and remodeling.

I purchased the “Rendezvous House” in September of 2001, and made some immediate changes to enhance the comfort of the accommodations. After renting it for a short time, I moved-in and began plans for an extensive remodel and addition. In addition to my family, my next favorite feature of this house is its location, so close to the center of Teton Village! The vision was realized in 2005 when the project was complete; along with the luxury bunkhouse accommodations known today as 'The Rendezvous Hideaway.' Welcome!

Mike Daus purchased this chalet in 2001

Why Mike Daus chose Jackson Hole area

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to own property so close to the heart of the ski village. While one of the oldest homes in the area (1966), and in need of attention, age could not steal it's bragging rights as being the closest single family residence to the Tram! And even while it sits so close to the heart of Teton Village, the views and the feel could be anywhere in the mature, wooded neighborhood of the original Teton Village residential area.

What makes this chalet unique

The house is located in a mature forest, with plenty of privacy. Most who rent homes and condominiums in the neighborhood have to walk past this one to get to or from the ski village. Walking or skiing to and from the lifts, hiking/biking trails, restaurants and shops, is more convenient than driving; however, you feel as though you're deep in the woods as you look up the hill at the new Tramway, lifts and ski runs.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Better than expected! Our first VRBO experience and did not disappoint! We felt very comfortable here with everything we needed. We would certainly stay again and would refer people here. Thanks so much! Here's a glimpse of what we enjoyed most.

Day 1: Climbed to Gondola (didn't want to pay exorbitant price to ride tram with tourists). Flower Trail from base. Amazing hike! Brought bear spray that the owner conveniently left for us in rental (didn't have to use it, haha). Free Gondola ride down!

Day 2: Shorter hike in Black Canyon. Great views! Dinner in town at "Local." Wonderful!

Day 3: Hiked History Trail. Awesome but bring bug spray. Went to Grand Teton Music Festival concert. Enjoyed Jackson Hole POP, popcorn (gift) from owner.

Day 4: Yellowstone! Pizza at Calico, just down the road. Comfortable evening in watching world cup.

Day 5: Mad River float trip. Lunch at Cafe Genevieve in Jackson. Jenny Lake hike in evening. Boat closed before dark. Be sure to find out time if you don't want 2hr walk around lake.

Day 6: Mill Iron Ranch horseback riding. Great views and guide. Free gondola ride for happy hour on deck. Rodeo in town that night.

Thanks to owner for great info on what to do/see, and where to eat!

Know how to use, and always carry bear spray hiking around here! Didn't see any, but a precaution worth having around. If none in the rental, ask Owner as he may be able to provide it (saves you $40-$60).

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

My two teens and I spent four nights here. It is a wonderful place to stay. You can walk anywhere in the village and it is close to the park and Jackson. Mike greeted us when we arrived (I know he can't always do that). Good timing. It is a beautiful location and the guest house itself is very well done and had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four had an incredible week at the Luxury Hideaway. The property is situated right next to the slopes and walking distance to everything. Every detail is covered in the home and Mike was always available if we had a question. Everything worked perfectly in the house to include the hot tub and was immaculate! We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Jackson Hole.

The house was great. I shared it with my two adult sons. Plenty of room. Clean. Extras like bathrobes, crocks for walking outside to the hot tub. Heat is floor convection so it does not feel as dry, Very convenient. Walked to the lifts, about 3-5 minutes. Only one bathroom but the shower and john are separated from the sink area with a door so it can accommodate 2 at a time. Owner is very helpful and lives next door.

Top notch lodging in Teton Village close to Tram

  • 5 of 5

My two adult children and I thoroughly enjoyed this quiet, lovely, two bedroom unit in Teton Village directly across the street from Teton Mountain Lodge and Hotel Terra (which has a great cafe and Italian restaurant). The owner was outstanding to let from, very helpful, and he's considered every detail in this unit, from heated wood floors, a two-room bathroom, a very clever loft with twin beds, to little things like a bean grinder for the coffee. Everything worked, the place was very clean, and the whole experience was absolutely top notch. Highly recommended.

Everything you need in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

As a UK ski/snowboard family of 5 Rendezvous Hideaway is a great place to stay just a few minutes from the base of the tram , all village amenities and ski back to within 50 yards. The hot tub on the deck provided welcome relaxation ,a fantastic view of the fireworks and of moose wandering through the trees and around the house.

The property is clean, comfortable and well equipped ,cosy but fun for 5 adults. The mezzanine worked well for us.

Mike the owner is charming, welcoming but unobtrusive unless required.Great popcorn too!

We would certainly recommend this property to anyone looking for a more individual family property, mindful of the steep mezzanine ladder. So much more fun than a bland condo!

The mountain is beautiful, with great skiing and snowboarding especially in the back-country, we loved snowshoeing and walking in Teton National Park with spectacular sunrise/set colours over the valley.

Elk Refuge worth a visit if you have a poor day for ski-ing although the surprise visit from the moose aced it.

All round - a superb holiday at the Hideaway ,we'll be back if we can.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

Everything was great. There is not much to say that hasn't already been mentioned by other reviewers. The condo is very comfortable - it has a great kitchen, view, and comfortable beds. Everything in Teton Village is within short walking distance. We would love to return some day.
