About Owner/Property Manager
I'm a full time Adirondack and Icelandic photographer, and an Adirondack native. In this charming Adirondack log home I helped build, I incorporated as many logs and Adirondack rustic styled elements as I could, recalling with fondness my family's log house I grew up in. Enjoy your time here in the Adirondacks!

This property was the perfect place for a long weekend. Close enough to Whiteface and Lake Placid but far enough away to feel secluded. Great views of the river and mountains in the back. You can explore any outdoor activity minutes from the house. The kitchen had everything needed to cook and the house was clean and welcoming. Thanks for a great stay!
Beautiful, very clean home, peaceful stay
Johnathon’s log cabin home was the perfect balance for serenity and seclusion, but within close proximity to all that the Wilmington/Lake Placid area has to offer!
Highly recommend this house for all those looking to get away in the Adirondacks! The decorations within the house complement the house and area as well.
Thank you Johnathon for sharing your home with us!
Perfect Location and Great Place to Stay
My wife and I had a great time and this is right up there in the top 3 of places we've stayed using the HomeAway app. The location was perfect! It was far enough from the main road and town that the only sound we could hear was the river below the cabin. Everything was clean and the only thing I think we were missing were matches and I made sure to leave two boxes behind for the next guests that want to make a campfire. There was so much to do within 15 minutes that we never felt we had to travel far to entertain ourselves. There were plenty of restaurants open after Labor Day and a large grocery store just outside of Lake Placid. We had a great time hiking, driving to the top of Whiteface Mountain, and visiting the Wildlife Refuge. This is a great place to stay and my wife and I hope to come back some time soon.
My wife, 2 young daughters and I spent a few days at the cabin and absolutely loved it. The cabin itself is beautiful with a very warm, cozy feel. The location is very nice - tucked back from the road a bit and away from the neighboring homes. The back of the home overlooks a picturesque mountain view, which we enjoyed from the deck and balcony. We attended a wedding at Whiteface while we were here, which was just minutes from the cabin. Lake Placid was only a short, scenic drive away as well. Overall it was a great getaway and we're already brainstorming when we'll be able to come back next.
Beautiful property in perfect location! We started every morning with a hike and didn't even come close to experiencing the many, many wonderful trails in the area. Some of our other highlights were the trip up Whiteface Mountain, the Wildlife Refuge, High Gorge Falls, and the village of Lake Placid (Olympic Museum, shops, and restaurants). Highly recommend The Cottage for lunch on Mirror Lake and R.F. McDougal's for delicious food in an unbeatable setting. After a day spent outdoors, this charming log cabin welcomed us home. At night, we enjoyed turning out all the lights and marvelling at the stars we are not able to see in our section of suburbia. Absolutely stunning! Our puggle, Chloe, loved sitting under the outside tables at ADK Pizza and we appreciated how dog-friendly most of the establishments were. As a bonus, my husband caught a good sized trout on his first cast into the river at the bottom of the stairs! One of our best vacations ever!!
Awesome reviews like this make it all the more worthwhile, and I share them with my housekeeper too as she tries and works so hard. Thanks for detailing all your fun activities you did, which I'm sure other future guests will want to copy! And that's cool to hear you caught a fish in the section of Ausable River right in front of my house, on first cast, amazing! I'll sticky-thread this review to the top of the list, it's so wonderful :) Hope you make it back to the Adirondacks another time!
