Relax, enjoy the gentle breeze, take a deep breath and enjoy the birds, flowers and scents of Maui that surround you. Our quiet location is surrounded by the Wailea Old Blue Golf Course & adjacent to the Wailea Tennis Club & Wailea Town Center; minutes away from the most beautiful beaches, luxurious shopping and fine restaurants of South Maui.

Our spacious studio room is furnished with a king-size bed with new (January, 2016) Tempurpedic mattress and comfortable sitting area for relaxing after snorkeling or visiting Haleakala. A 40' flat panel TV is provided for those rare rainy days in Wailea. The kitchenette is equipped with sink, refrigerator, microwave, two burner portable cooktop, coffee maker, toaster and blender for a quick breakfast or lunch. Beautiful white carpeting sets off the Hawaiian themed furnishings, and we have lots of beach equipment available for fun in the sun.

A remodel completed in July, 2014 included all new tile, cabinets, granite countertops, etc.

Lush flowering tropical foliage surrounds us. One of Grand Champions' two pools is across the parking area where there is a hot tub and gas grills & tables for your cooking pleasure. Dine on our spacious lanai and enjoy the wind whistling through the bamboo woods. Or enjoy the beauty of Maui's sunsets and our partial ocean view from the front lanai.

We have tried to keep our cost lower by primarily receiving payment by check. We can take credit cards, but will add the credit card cost to the payment, 2.9% for U.S. guests, 4.9% for others. This is applied to the rent, taxes and cleaning fee. About The Owner

Ralph is a retired pastor who is now Director of Development for a humanitarian aid organization. Janice formerly worked in nursing and insurance; she now cares for their home and their Cavalier King Charles puppy named Cromwell. We both enjoy golf and dancing in our leisure time, Janice also is active in yoga and is a passionate knitter.

We have visited most of the major islands and feel Maui offers everything we want in a vacation home. We always enjoy the road to Hana, drives around the north and south sides of the island and people-watching in Lahaina. Most mornings we take the shore walk behind the Wailea resorts and look for whales. On our first trip to Maui we discovered Big Beach and that is still our favorite.

Why The Owner chose Maui

We had been looking at units in the Kihei area around the Kameole beaches where we had stayed many times in the past. When our real estate agent convinced us to look at this condo, we were sold immediately! We knew the beautiful Wailea development was worth the extra expense. The ability to manage our own rentals via the internet, and a great price brought it within our reach, so we mortgaged our rental properties on the mainland and jumped. We haven't regretted it!! Now when we come to Maui, we feel we are coming home.

What makes this condo unique

Although our ocean view is small, we can still view whale activity from our front lanai and the studio window. The grills & one of the pools are right across the parking lot from our unit, so our food is still hot when we get back to the condo. We love sitting out on the lanai listening to the breeze rustle the bamboo leaves, and sleeping with the doorwall open to the lanai at night. The cathedral ceiling makes the room light and seem bigger than it actually is.

Great Studio in Wailea

My husband and I stayed here March 2016. I'm not sure why the previous renter was so disappointed. The listing clearly states (with photos) that the unit is a studio with a kitchenette. Not too noisy, it is a condo, not a private residence. It was great to be able to have breakfast daily and a few simple meals. BBQ is close. Bathroom is large and the new bed was really comfortable! Great to have access to laundry. Air conditioner is a bonus-we didn't use. Well kept property, close to everything in Wailea, can walk from condo to shops, beach and restaurants, although it's nice to have a car to explore Maui.

If you want full 5 star, book a room without kitchenette at the Four Seasons for $600/night. This condo is, as described and the best deal for anywhere in Wailea. With the money we saved, we were able to go out for a few very nice meals!

way too small

Owner described these nice new granite counters, that needed special care so as not to damage any of them. You could not even see a counter. A microwave and a coffee pot filled the counter on one side of the hall that was to be the kitchen area, and a bar size sink filled the counter on the other side of the hall. No place to stack dishes before or after they were washed. No place to prepare food if the hot plate is on the counter. Just try to make coffee, toast and eggs at the same time, I dare you!!

Describes this studio as above the office on a corner so it is quiet. Fails to tell you that the corner is the main drive into the complex and if you want the windows open, you must listen to the gate guard talk with every car that comes through between the hours of 9pm and midnight!

Husband had a cold, and an open bag of wrapped cough drops was full of bugs in the morning. Had to keep all food in fridge for fear of attracting more of the pests, and garbage had to be removed daily as it was full of the same bugs each morning.

I would not recommend this studio to anyone who wanted peace and quiet or anyone who thinks they want to cook their own meals.

Owner's Response: This is a studio with a kitchenette, not a one bedroom condo with a full kitchen. It is advertised as such. The pictures clearly show a compact kitchenette. That is what a kitchenette is. Apparently this guest did not see the pictures or read the description. But yes, you can cook eggs, make coffee and toast at the same time. And yes, you certainly can see the counters as is plainly visible in the pictures. Here's what the guest failed to say: All studios in Grand Champions are the same size. Only one other studio that we are aware of has a full size refrigerator like ours. Most have an under the counter model. Only two that we know of even have a sink in the kitchenette. These are upgrades not found in most. Though most guests in a studio aren't looking to cook a full meal, we nevertheless have supplied a full set of pots and pans. The studio was completely remodeled in July, 2014 with all new tile, new cabinets, new granite counters. This guest had a new king size Tempurpedic mattress ($3,200) that was a month old. Bath and bed linens were all less than a month old. The studio was freshly painted a month before her arrival. Except for a few small items, all the furnishings are less than two years old. Grand Champions sprays all condos in the complex on a regular basis, every single one. But this is Hawaii; it is in the tropics, and insects are part of the tropics and sometimes appear before the next spraying. When that happens, we tell the management and a special spraying is done within 24 hours. If this guest had told us she saw insects, we would have done so immediately, as we did when we read her review. We also checked with the next guest, and were told that the only "bugs" they saw were very tiny ants, which locals call "ghost ants" because they are so small that they are barely visible. Food should always be kept in sealed containers. Otherwise it does attract ants. We try very hard to give our guests the best place possible to stay. All guests have our email address and both home and cell phone numbers (Turned on 24/7.) We respond as quickly as possible to any reasonable request. But we can't take care of things we aren't told about. We have had over 350 guests during the past seven years. This is the first complaint we have had about the guards talking too loud. But again, we have asked the office staff to ask the guards to keep their voices down. We would have done so immediately if the guest had told us this was disturbing her.

A Fantastic Studio Condo

I stayed here January 2016, It was a fantastic experience! I loved it so much I am planning to stay here again this coming year! The condo was great- was everything I needed and was a great location and a well-kept property. The pool was close, as well as the grills. It was an easy walk to the shops of Wailea and to any of the hotels. I especially liked being able to do the beach walk every day, though it was nice to have a car too. I have stayed in other studios but none as nice as this one. It has a super nice kitchenette with a sink and full size refrigerator. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Disapointed

I chose this studio based on the reviews and being very familiar with Grand Champs resort - so was very disappointed with the miscommunication, being locked out twice, and being ask to deal with the porch umbrella that flew off the balcony..that in itself took away my morning ritual of coffee on the balcony as there was no umbrella to provide shade. Mostly disappointed with arriving to find a filthy shower curtain laden with mold...the excuse for the dirty shower curtain - was due to the previous renters leaving late and cleaner not having time to clean....I would think the owners would make certain the apt is entirely cleaned and well stocked with cleaning supplies before allowing the next guest to check in. The owner explained to me that since he gave me a discount off the price that would suffice....I did get a free day but that was due to my $70+ worth of organic groceries and wine being thrown out by the cleaner. Regarding the discount - there are several other studios of the same class listed for $30+ less per night - which are cute, clean and cozy. If an owner agrees to a discount it should not be at the price comfort, cleanliness and safety!

Owner's Response: This review is filled with inaccuracies. Price-I gave the guest a discount, trying to fill an open spot at the last minute. I just now checked all Grand Champions studios. One, without the numerous upgrades our studio has, is running a short term special $20 less than the price she received. Next week its price increases by $24. All others are higher than she paid. Groceries-. The guest asked to bring groceries for the refrigerator 5 hours before check-in, and I accommodated her. When she arrived the previous guests were still there. They refused to leave at checkout time and would not let the cleaner begin, so he waited two hours in the parking lot. When he entered he thought the groceries were from the previous guest and discarded them, as he is supposed to. The guest asked for a free night, which I gave her, saving her about $40 more than the cost of the groceries. Locked out-The guest was not locked out twice. After she arrived she decided to stay two more days. Both she and I forgot her keyless entry code would expire and need to be reset. She called when she couldn’t get in and I reset the code immediately. She did not call any other time. Had she been locked out a second time she could not have entered without calling me. Shower curtain-The cleaner started washing the linens before noticing the shower curtain, which was fairly new. Because the previous guest did not leave until two hours after check-out, there was not time to do another load. No previous guest had mentioned mold, which can grow quickly in the tropics. The guest did not tell me there was any mold on the curtain until after her stay or we could have replaced it immediately, as we have since done. Umbrella-The wind managed to dislodge the umbrella from the table on our lanai. A staff member brought it up to the condo and I told the guest I would have our agent come and put it back into the table. She told me it could wait until after her stay as she wasn’t using it anyways. Most lanais do not have umbrellas. Our practice is to correct any problems as soon as they occur as we did with the groceries and lock, were willing to do with the umbrella and would have done with the shower curtain had we known. When I returned the deposit, the guest responded that besides the discount and the free day, she wanted another free day. When I declined, she posted this review with its inaccuracies despite having told me in an email after she left, "The studio is charming..."

Nice studio; wonderful location

Well appointed studio in the heart of Wailea. The condo is as described and was a great find given the price and location. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the beach and a stone's throw from The Grand Champion's pool. The owner was extremely pleasant to work with and we would definitely return.
