Overview

MidCoast and Penobscot Bay House Rental Photos and Description

Lovely Newer Home With Exquisite Details, Well-appointed Living Spaces.

The best Maine has to offer! Ocean Falls sits on the edge of Penobscot Bay in the enclave of Ducktrap just north of Lincolnville Beach. Ocean Falls offers breathtaking 180 degree views. Lincolnville Beach is located 10 minutes north of Camden, and Belfast is 20 minutes further north. Lincolnville offers a selection of restaurants and shops, and is also home to the Cellardoor Winery. Lincolnville is part of the Camden Hills State Park area with easy access to numerous hiking and biking trails. Both Camden and Belfast offer a full range of nearby amenities including more restaurants, shops, and activities. Ocean Falls is located within the Ocean Falls community providing access to a tennis court, and basketball court. Ocean Falls community lends itself to remarkable peace and privacy. The front of the house is next to a waterfall and small pond while the back of the house faces the ocean and includes a private beach.

Ocean Falls is a custom-built new home completed in the spring of 2012. Crafted in the Dutch Colonial/Cape style, the house has a welcoming front porch, as well as a screened porch and deck on the ocean side of the house. The 180 degree views of the ocean and islands are not to be missed. The interior features large windows to bring the outside in. The dark wood floors, soothing colors, and comfortable furnishings make you feel right at home.

Enter through the front door into a spacious hallway. Straight ahead are stairs to the second floor, to the left is a small private study/office, to the right is a combination mudroom/pantry with access to the attached garage. There is also a powder room off the front hall. On either side of the stairs there are doorways leading into the open living/dining/kitchen area. From this space there are 180 degree views of the ocean and french doors which open to both the deck and screened porch. The kitchen, which sits between the living and dining areas, is equipped with state-of-the-art appliances. The work space faces the spectacular ocean views. The living area has a stone fireplace (gas) and comfortable seating with flat screen TV. The dining area is located at the other end of the room. Stairs between the front hall and dining/kitchen area lead to the lower level which has ocean views in the family/game room. Off the family room is a bedroom with a king bed. There is a full bath on the this level. The outdoors can be accessed through the family room.

At the top of the stairs to the left, overlooking the ocean is the fabulous master bedroom suite. The spacious master bedroom has a king bed. The en suite master bathroom, a relaxing oasis, has a double sink, glass-enclosed shower, and large Jacuzzi tub. Down the hall to the right there are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, between them is a full bath. Beyond the master bedroom on the left, there is a laundry room and another full bath. At the end of the hall is a large bedroom with two sets of XL twin size bunk beds. All of the bedrooms are appointed with lovely, high quality linens, and the bathrooms feature tiles and double sinks.

Stay Away! Rental Company is shady

  • 1 of 5

I regret having to give a poor review because I love Maine but my memories of this beautiful part of the country and of Maine have been severely tainted by my experience with the Camden Accommodations rental company. Specifically, the owner of this company, Barbara Heard has treated me like a common criminal after spending a lot of money in renting this house for a week. Me and my wife are professionals and often rent vacation homes for our trips and this is the first time we've been treated like this. Here are some details...The house does not have AC (understandable for Maine coast) and one evening the wind blew several bedroom doors closed. One of the doors locked after slamming and now Ms Heard is charging me for a locksmith. Next, a kitchen spray nozzle head was broken when we showed up and used it. It literally fell apart when I picked it up on the first day. Barbara is now charging me for a replacement faucet and the cost of a plumber. Next, there was a small model ship in a office which my 6 year old son unfortunately got his hands on one day and I think he broke a small piece off the deck. It was a small piece. Ms Heard said she took it to a professional repair shop and is now charging me hundreds in repairs. I don't even know how that is possible. Why on earth would someone put a delicate, expensive model out in a vacation home that allows children? This was a horrible experience and I recommend you don't business with these people unless you want to see your security deposit vanish based on fabrications once your back in your home city and unable to do anything about Ms Heard's ridiculous claims.

Other than my experience with the rental agent criminals, the house was overall not bad. I probably would have chosen a different place anyway based on the following details. No AC. Probably typical but this was not specified up front. No TVs in the bedrooms. No blinds on the windows of the Master bedroom facing East - yes, you get blasted with sunrise whether you want to or not. The house is situated several hundred yards from the water on a marsh. I would have picked a place with actual waterfront. It can get pretty buggy since it sits on a marsh.

Owner's Response: Although these guests have also trashed me on Facebook and we have ignored their ramblings, I find that I can no longer ignore this situation. Camden Accommodations has been in business since 1994; we have an excellent rating with the Better Business Bureau and approximately 38% of our guests are repeat renters with Camden Accommodations. These guests in question rented one of our premier properties and treated the property with blatant disregard. This house has been rented successfully for over 3 years and all of our other guests have treated the property with respect and care. Please feel free to call with any questions as to renting the lovely Ocean Falls.

We couldn't have chosen a more wonderful place to spend our vacation. Camden Accommodations was a professional and friendly company to work with, and Ocean Falls is a truly exceptional property. The views, location and home are breathtaking!
