Beautifully crafted custom home situated on a small rise and just 45 yards from the water’s edge with superb westerly views of Lake Waukewan and a wrap-around veranda for enjoying them. We recently renovated our lower level to include a lovely recreation room with ping pong table, TV and mini bar. Swim, kayak or hike from our doorstep. 180 feet of private waterfront with crystal clear water. We have a U-dock for your boat, and there's a small table and chairs for you to relax by the water and enjoy the sunset. Our swim-float is about 20 yards from the U-dock. The U-dock and swim-float are visible from the house. Follow another short trail to our kayak racks and floating dock. The floating dock has a shallow, sandy bottom swimming area for young children. Launch the tandem kayak or the two single kayaks from here. Quiet two acre setting is only a ten minute walk to the charming and historic town of Meredith with restaurants, antique stores, markets, shopping, a marina and a movie theater. Sit back on the veranda and enjoy the breeze off the lake while listening to the call of loons. Enjoy a beautiful sunset with your favorite beverage and then slip into the Jacuzzi and relax. Located in the center of the Lakes Region and just a short drive to many children’s activities (miniature golf, ropes course, water slide, drive-in movie theater), golf, tennis, hiking, biking, summer theater, outlet shopping all the vacation activities that has made this region a famous summer get-away. Great spot for relaxing and a memorable vacation at the lake. No smoking. No pets.
Photo is our boys trying stand up paddle boards. Our oldest is an adult and we have two teens.
We love our house. We plan to retire here in a few more years. We have wonderful neighbors and friends. We share our driveway with one of our neighbors. We spend 5 or 6 weeks here throughout the year. We keep the house in pristine condition and put our own personal care into the decor and the garden. Other than family and friends, we only rent the house for about 6 weeks during the summer. We look to share this uniquely charming place with those who will appreciate it, enjoy it, and care for it.
There are at least 8 loons that live on the lake. They often come into our cove. We hear them more often in the morning than the evening. We've seen mink in the winter, right by the rocks at the lake's edge.
If you are looking to get away from it all and relax in a lovely, quiet setting, this may be the place for you. The house, with a great view of Lake Waukewan, is beautiful inside and out, with a large porch perfect for your morning cup of coffee and/or your afternoon drink. Everything is updated, super clean, beautifully decorated, and you can tell the owners care about their property. The dock is perfect for sunbathing and, obviously, the swim float is great for swimming. If you should run into a spell of damp weather, there is a ping pong table on the lower level and a special game table with an assortment of board games nearby. It is just a short walk to town for necessities or something less “necessary” like ice cream. If you are looking for activities, there are many options, both for the grown-ups (my favorite was Castle in the Clouds) and the younger set (paint ball). This is the perfect place for a family or small group of friends looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
This home is so beautiful and is in immaculate condition. The lake is so clear and lovely. My husband, daughter, and I stayed with another family and there was ample room for all of us. We all enjoyed kayaking, relaxing on the dock, walking into town, and spending time on the veranda. I highly recommend this beautiful location. Donna was also extremely helpful and accommodating. Her knowledge about the area and suggestions of things to do was invaluable.
Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful week-long vacation at this property. The home is very clean, well furnished, and comfortable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The wrap-around porch is the perfect place for reading, napping, enjoying a cup of coffee or cocktail, or simply enjoying the waterfront views.
It's just a short walk across the road to the beautiful waterfront. There's a large dock, perfect for sunbathing, fishing, and enjoying the lake. There's also a floating swim dock (which the children loved!), and a dock (with sandy bottom) for launching the kayaks.
The town of Meridith is a short walk from this property----and boasts delightful shops, delicious restaurants and cafes, and a beautiful waterfront.
The owners were very responsive to our requests and suggestions...and we hope to return next summer!
Rented this wonderful house for a week. What a wonderful relaxing time. The lake is steps away with a private dock. I spent lazy times on the wrap around porch enjoying the changing patterns of the lake. The house has all the amenities you want and need. It is well cared for and very comfortable. Wonderful for a family or group of friends. The nearby town is a short walk away. Has nice shops and great inexpensive places to eat. Check out the ice cream on the town lake. People are friendly and helpful. The owners were also helpful and very reasonable. I highly recommend renting this property. I'm looking forward to going back next season.
Our family of 4 with 2 teenage sons spent a week at this house and LOVED it! The lake was spectacular to swim, kayak and just relax and float around with the gorgeous scenery. We loved having our own private dock where we'd enjoy lunch and also sat around the table playing cards watching the sun set- which were so beautiful. We'd walk into town most evenings to eat at one of the many fun restaurants and enjoyed tasting the different home made ice cream stores. Bicycling and running was great there too and we took day trips to hike in the White Mountains. We loved the feel of the town and just overall had a wonderful time and will definitely return as the house was so terrific to relax in and was a perfect vacation home!
We stayed for one week at this gorgeous home (it is immaculate both inside and out), and wished we could have stayed for 3! The owners have thought of just about everything for the relaxation and comfort of their guests. With the kayaks, swimming, biking, and hiking (not to mention the mini golf, ropes course, shopping and antiquing) there was something to keep everyone busy every day. The fact that we could easily walk or bike to the town of Meredith allowed us to thoroughly enjoy its small town ambiance both day and night. Our kids loved walking along the boardwalk to get amazing ice cream. We saw our first movie in an old time drive-in movie theater which was only 15 minutes away. A nearby-library had events for the children, perfect for rainy days. Every morning we ate breakfast on the wrap-around deck overlooking the sparkling lake. At night, we went down to the dock to play cards and watch the sunset. What a perfect way to start and end each day! We loved every single moment of our vacation here, and are planning to return in the very near future.
Our lake, Waukewan, is in the heart of the lakes region. Meredith Bay, Lake Winnipesaukee, is only a mile away and Big Squam Lake is 5 miles away. Swim and kayak in the lakes. Hiking near the lakes and in the Belknap range offers unsurpassed views. The White Mountains are less than an hour drive away. The lakes region is an old and famous summer resort area and has all the amenities for families.
