About the property

3 Bedrooms, 3.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6

Beautifully crafted custom home situated on a small rise and just 45 yards from the water’s edge with superb westerly views of Lake Waukewan and a wrap-around veranda for enjoying them. We recently renovated our lower level to include a lovely recreation room with ping pong table, TV and mini bar. Swim, kayak or hike from our doorstep. 180 feet of private waterfront with crystal clear water. We have a U-dock for your boat, and there's a small table and chairs for you to relax by the water and enjoy the sunset. Our swim-float is about 20 yards from the U-dock. The U-dock and swim-float are visible from the house. Follow another short trail to our kayak racks and floating dock. The floating dock has a shallow, sandy bottom swimming area for young children. Launch the tandem kayak or the two single kayaks from here. Quiet two acre setting is only a ten minute walk to the charming and historic town of Meredith with restaurants, antique stores, markets, shopping, a marina and a movie theater. Sit back on the veranda and enjoy the breeze off the lake while listening to the call of loons. Enjoy a beautiful sunset with your favorite beverage and then slip into the Jacuzzi and relax. Located in the center of the Lakes Region and just a short drive to many children’s activities (miniature golf, ropes course, water slide, drive-in movie theater), golf, tennis, hiking, biking, summer theater, outlet shopping all the vacation activities that has made this region a famous summer get-away. Great spot for relaxing and a memorable vacation at the lake. No smoking. No pets.

About Donna Tasso

Photo is our boys trying stand up paddle boards. Our oldest is an adult and we have two teens.

Why Donna Tasso chose Meredith

We love our house. We plan to retire here in a few more years. We have wonderful neighbors and friends. We share our driveway with one of our neighbors. We spend 5 or 6 weeks here throughout the year. We keep the house in pristine condition and put our own personal care into the decor and the garden. Other than family and friends, we only rent the house for about 6 weeks during the summer. We look to share this uniquely charming place with those who will appreciate it, enjoy it, and care for it.

What makes this house unique

There are at least 8 loons that live on the lake. They often come into our cove. We hear them more often in the morning than the evening. We've seen mink in the winter, right by the rocks at the lake's edge.

This property is exceptional! We had a wonderful relaxing week. Would highly recommend. Easy walk into town and the lake. Owners were great to deal with and provided a ton of suggestions on places to visit and local restaurants to eat at . Can't wait for our return next year!!

Our Perfect Lakeside Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We sought a pretty lakeside retreat for a quiet family vacation, and this Lake Waukewan rental did not disappoint! Mark & Donna were enthusiastic hosts, and the sec. deposit was returned quickly after checkout.

With bedrooms and full bathrooms on each of its 3 floors, we were able to have both sets of in-laws visit for our 2-year-old's birthday, and each family had their own entire floor. Basement stayed wonderfully cool and was fun to hang out in, with ping pong, games, TV, and a little library. Master on main floor has beautiful jet tub, and the open concept kitchen / dining / living room is wall to wall windows, so lake views abound from every angle. Wraparound porch is phenomenal, and far less buggy than we'd have thought despite its woodsy surrounding. Elevated above the lake, sitting out there was definitely a highlight of the experience, sunrise to sunset (sun sets right in front of you, and the loons are about all that interrupts the silence), and there's even a separate private porch right above it off the third floor loft. It got a little warm upstairs during the day, but there were plenty of fans and a portable AC that worked quite quickly in the bedrooms, so we were kept comfortable.

For amenities, the owners have made available some brand new bicycles, various inflatable boats/tubes, multiple kayaks, lifejackets, two docks (the lake is so warm in July that you simply step in without hesitation, and one dock is all sandy bottom about waist-deep - our 2-year old loved swimming there with mom & dad!), a large Weber charcoal grill (just bring some charcoal and you're good to go), outdoor table and chairs, DVD player, and plenty of kitchen supplies. Kitchen was well stocked - enough to bake our own bday cake, make pizza, cook full dinners just like at home.

For activities, there's a free public beach that was beautiful about a mile from the house, we particularly enjoyed food from nearby Moulton Farm, Giuseppe's Pizzeria, Camp, and Lago, and if you like books don't miss the Innisfree Bookshop downtown. Also recommend Anchor Boat rentals in Paugus Bay if you want to get out on the big lake - they ran a fantastic operation, and cheaper than many others we looked at. Meredith is also only about an hour from both sides of the White mountains, so you can easily do side trips to N. Conway, Story Land, Franconia, Waterville Valley, Kanc, etc. from here. Great stay, much recommended!!

really enjoyed Lake Life!

  • 5 of 5

My wife summed it up best….”We enjoyed a weeks worth of laughter, sun, golfing, fishing, family dinners and game nights. I have always been a beach girl but I gotta say I really enjoyed Lake Life!”

Exceptional peace and tranquility on he lake. House is beautiful, very close to downtown if you want to take a nice walk but situated away from the hustle and bustle.

The family room in the basement was a huge benefit. Some of our party were night owls while other are early birds, was great to have a place to relax without worrying about waking everyone else up. We had many spirited ping pong games and had a 1000 piece puzzle slowly developing on the table all week.

Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone looking in the Meredith area.

Relaxing, beautiful spot on Lake Waukewan

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking to get away from it all and relax in a lovely, quiet setting, this may be the place for you. The house, with a great view of Lake Waukewan, is beautiful inside and out, with a large porch perfect for your morning cup of coffee and/or your afternoon drink. Everything is updated, super clean, beautifully decorated, and you can tell the owners care about their property. The dock is perfect for sunbathing and, obviously, the swim float is great for swimming. If you should run into a spell of damp weather, there is a ping pong table on the lower level and a special game table with an assortment of board games nearby. It is just a short walk to town for necessities or something less “necessary” like ice cream. If you are looking for activities, there are many options, both for the grown-ups (my favorite was Castle in the Clouds) and the younger set (paint ball). This is the perfect place for a family or small group of friends looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Perfectly maintained, beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

This home is so beautiful and is in immaculate condition. The lake is so clear and lovely. My husband, daughter, and I stayed with another family and there was ample room for all of us. We all enjoyed kayaking, relaxing on the dock, walking into town, and spending time on the veranda. I highly recommend this beautiful location. Donna was also extremely helpful and accommodating. Her knowledge about the area and suggestions of things to do was invaluable.
