This home is in an urban and eclectic neighborhood at the nexus of DC, Silver Spring and Takoma Park. Two Redline Metro stations are one-mile away--Takoma & Silver Spring. Our community is family oriented and quiet but with all the urban resources you need to easily shop, dine-out, see a film and more, many are within walking distance. We are also near a tranquil, woodsy park with a lovely hike/bike/jog trail along a creek.
We are one-mile from 2 Metro stations and one-half block from a bus that will take you to both stations. The Takoma Station is in DC and cheaper if you're coming from that direction. Silver Spring is the first station in MD from DC and convenient to shops and restaurants. Also the neighborhood is very bike/walkable.
We have hosted for over 5 years and are proud of our 100+ great reviews. Here are some clips from recent guest reviews about us and our properties: “Gail and Danny were absolutely GREAT! They were very helpful getting situated in the house. Gail was kind enough to pick me up from the metro station on the first day…The place is very conveniently located near the Silver Spring downtown, close to metro, restaurants, gyms, convenience stores….Danny and Gail were attentive while allowing us privacy and freedom to come and go as needed…We loved the casual and comfortable surroundings and the personalities of our hosts….My best [B&B] experience so far !!! This place is great, especially if you're an AIRP attendee ! :) ...This was truly a home away from home. If i ever go back to DC, I know where I'm heading. …The house was lovely and exactly as listed, and the neighborhood was safe, welcoming, and a short walk from anything you could possibly need …Their place was clean, cosy and comfortable. Plus, I had no trouble commuting into DC every day and I felt safe in the area around their house….The kitchen has a lot of room for cooking and it's always clean as well. It was actually a little sad to leave….This experience in [street name] avenue is one of those which we wont forget. The house is clean, cozy, and somehow unique and authentic….Better than expected: the house is big, cute, cosy, cleaned and you have everything you need. They are always trying to help you and are so respectful,….”

The home has 1800 sq ft with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All bedrooms can sleep 2 or more and have desks, bureaus and closets. The 3rd bedroom or lower-level suite is a large, 500sf private space with separate entrance, full bath and partial kitchen.
The 2-level layout with kitchen, bath and sleeping on both levels is uniquely suited for professional and academic groups. Shopping and lively entertainment options are within walking distance as well as tranquil, meandering walk/jog/bike trails.
The large and grassy back-yard garden is a rarity this close to the city. Nice for families, grilling and unwinding after work or sightseeing.
Elizabeth and I hit it off from the first conversation. She is warm, friendly and forthcoming with information about herself, which we appreciate. She has traveled extensively and stayed in many guest houses as well as hosted. She maintained our home during her holiday stay as if it was her own. We'd host her again anytime and hope to keep in touch.
Very clean property. The owner gave thorough instructions and was always reachable. This was a great place that served our needs immensely! Very thankful for the owner accommodating our crew. No questions asked - stay here when you are going to DC!
Our family stayed here 10 weeks and it was the perfect size for the 4-6 people we had in the house throughout our stay. The house is nicely equipped and has a very large yard, great for BBQ's in the backyard. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Silver Spring Metro stop and 10-15 minutes to any of the amenities in downtown Silver Spring. On the metro you can access most anything in DC conveniently. We enjoyed our stay, Gail and Danny were very helpful and accommodating, and would highly recommend.
This house is well-appointed, cozy & very clean. It was a perfect spot for my family to spend Christmas. Gail & Danny have set up the house very well & were very responsive to all our needs. It is conveniently located to all the attractions of the area but still on a quiet residential street. We will definitely be back!
A friend and I stayed at this house for a week during December. Gail was very accommodating, checking with me about any needs we may have had prior to arrival. The house was easy to locate and in a convenient area for travel in the DC area. We were very comfortable during our stay. Gail provided plenty of information regarding the house and area so that we knew where everything was. During our visit, Gail made sure to check in with us to make sure we were comfortable and let us know of events going on in the area. At the end of our visit she did a final walk through with us, checking to make sure everything had been acceptable during our visit. Overall I would recommend this rental to anyone visiting the DC area. There is plenty of room in the house and it is very easy to get into the Metro area for sightseeing. Gail was very accommodating as well.
The property and Silver Spring in general was a pleasant surprise. The owners were very helpful and available at all times. The house is very close to down town Silver Spring which is a 10 minute walk away. There is also enough off road parking space for two cars if you choose to drive to get around. The hosts were flexible and kind enough to accommodate every extra request we made and as a result, we spent a wonderful family holiday. It is a place you will miss after you leave! Thanks Gail and Danny!
My overall impression of the property was great. I’m glad I booked this instead of a hotel room. This made the experience more of a homey feeling. I didn’t stay in the house all that much due to us being on the move everyday & all day. We mostly just slept & showered at the house but it was very accommodating & the owners were very friendly & actually lived next door so if any issues popped up they’d be able to take care of them right away.
