Good location...but

Stayed at this rental for just over 3 weeks. Upon arrival we noticed a few issues right away. The listing showed really nice wicker patio set with table. We found two resin plastic chairs and no table, disappointing. The overall feel of the apartment was mostly clean, but the bathroom and kitchen really needed a good scrub. The elements on the stove barely worked as they had kinda fallen into the rotted out bowl liners below, that were filthy with food and rusted metal. I guess no one turned the lights on in the kitchen to see this? The cleaning people obviously didn’t care enough to report this to the manager. The manager Alejandra was quick to fix the problem with new elements. The kitchen really wasn’t “fully equipped” just the basics. A tea kettle, ovenware, tea towels would have been useful. The issue of the “roaring” A/C on the balcony as other reviewers pointed out was a problem, you literally would jump out of your chair when it started up, and couldn’t hear each other talk. Signage that says “do not turn OFF the AC”, which we really wanted to do. Basic cable with only 4 or 5 English channels was a let down. The beach chairs were great to have. The towels, were worn and no bath mat. We asked for basic cleaning items to maintain the rental during the long stay, and were told we’d have to buy them ourselves. The pots and pans had the black teflon scratched off, Alejandra replaced them immediately. She is a great manager, but I think the owner is happy to just to flip this rental, and not invest in a few upgrades, eg; maybe coffee tables and lamps in the livingroom, better utensils, replace the bathtub, as moldy rubber mat really felt scuzzy, trying to hide the tub bottom . On the positive, the master was great, lots of storage and comfortable bed. The second bedroom has no window, just a bed and 2 nite stands. The ceiling fans worked well. The wifi was fast and stable. The beachview from the balcony is in the distance....a few blocks, but definitely there over the abandoned buildings below. For the price, I think maybe you could do better. Alejandra tried hard on the issues, but her hands are tied on what she could do. ESJ - security from the beach gate to the bldg. doesn’t exist...propped open gate, anyone can get into the parking garage. And theres the brigade of sales people trying to get you to a “timeshare” presentation. Like you, I count on the honesty of reviews when making my rental decisions, hopefully you find mine helpful

Perfect place to bring in the new year

Very nice condo in the perfect location. It had everything we needed. Keep in mind that you are near the airport so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Also, keep the balcony doors closed and the AC on to keep the floor dry.

The sound of the airplanes from the airport is a tolerable sound, hotels and other apartments the same happens to us. We have the advantage of being so close to the airport just less than 5 minutes from Esj Tower. It is also a tourist area surrounded by restaurants, drug stores and others. Next to the air conditioned box says the instructions can not turn off the air and the floor is wet. Thank you for your comment. We thank you for choosing our apartment. It was fine...

...but, not great. The pictures of the inside of the condo are very accurate, but the view from the balcony is exaggerated a bit. There is no view of the pool or the beach right outside the condo. This condo has a view of a neighboring beach, along with parking lots and a deserted building below. There is no peace on the balcony because of the constant droning of the A/C unit and very loud jet planes at the nearby airport! The sliding glass doors are not completely sealed, so each morning the marble floors are wet and dangerous. We used our beach blanket as a rug. The bathroom does not have an exhaust fan, therefore that floor gets very wet also. It is very dark in the bathroom (no window and minimal lighting) and the kitchen. The second bedroom has a queen bed, two night stands and 2 lamps-nothing else. No dresser, no closet, no window. My children were going to use the TV cabinet in the living room for their clothes, but it appeared that there were termites working in there, as mysterious wood shavings kept appearing. We thought it was sand at first, but they reappeared after we cleaned it out. Things that need to be replaced: pillows, lighting, pots and pans. Things that need to be added: baking sheet, more silverware, mixing bowl, wash clothes, rugs. Positive thoughts: Margarita was very attentive and sweet., the building was very secure. We always felt safe. The neighborhood was also safe, with many restaurants, stores within walking distance. The beach was beautiful. You can rent a lounge chair for $4 and an umbrella for $10. Food cart at one end of the beach selling wonderful local food-"Sandra". No one bothers you on the beach trying to sell you things. Calm, small waves (that was important to us). By the way, the wifi code is on the bottom of the router! It was not listed anywhere in the unit-luckily, we figured it out.

Owner's Response: Hi Ginger, Aiport is close to Isla Verde Avenue, there is always a little aircraft noise. Also it happens in hotels and apartments in the area. The air conditioning compressor oil lacked for that reason had noise, and was repaired. The balcony doors are sealed, but must not leave them open when air conditioning is on, to prevent the marble floor is wet a little, by condensation. Our apartment has modern LED lights in the bathroom, kitchen and living room, change the damaged bulbs. The second bedroom has no closet, but the master bedroom has a large double-sized closet to store all the necessary things during your stay. Utensils and kitchen equipment of the apartment has, we consider to be enough for rent, whatever add some new ones and replace the oldest. Fumigate to eliminate the moth in the TV cabinet. We did a full inspecion and replace all necessary things. Now, you should have informed us of your dissatisfaction during your stay, when we maintained contact, and not wait to leave. We may have solved some of the issues that were within our reach. We regret that our apartment has not filled his expectations, but there are many guests who love it. Perfect property for us!

We were very satisfied overall. Loved the location of this unit, the free parking, access to the beach and a nice pool, and walking distance to great places to eat and some nightlife. We found the apt to be very quiet, too quiet, and we had to buy some box fans so we could sleep otherwise you could hear every noise happening outside the bedrooms. We left the fans there so hopefully others will find that useful when they stay. My only recommendation would be to make the apt more "complete", provide some other kitchen essentials (better cookware, saran wrap or foil, the dishwasher would have been nice) and we noticed there were many towels but no wash cloths. Also, the floor is all tile so when the breeze sneaks through the patio doors, it causes moisture on the tile. My toddler fell a few times because it was very slippery. Maybe add a rug by that door?? These are just minor things and we'd definitely stay again if we come again to Isla Verde. Thanks!

The dishwasher is not offered on our website. When the air conditioning is very cold, do not keep the doors open balcony, condensation could be created, and produce a little humidity on the floor.
