This oceanfront unit is located on the 2nd floor of building #3; see pictures for location in complex.
Our lushly landscaped, gated, 17-acre, oceanfront complex sits between Kona Country Club with two 18-hole golf courses and Kahalu'u Beach Park with exceptional reef life for snorkelers... considered one of the best snorkeling areas. Amenities include three lighted tennis courts (no charge), tennis pro available for lessions and clinics (fee), large swimming pool, pavilions, and propane barbecues for residents.
Our second home is a one-level, second-floor unit with a wrap-around lanai featuring a spectacular ocean view (50 feet to ocean) and partial golf course view. Secured wireless internet allows you access thru out the condo and lanai. Outdoor furniture includes two dining tables and a chaise. Wonderful evening views of lights of Kailua-Kona, five miles away. Our second bedroom/sitting room has a serene, golf course view.

Our condominium has been completely remodeled with built-ins, new carpeting, and slate/tile. Master bedroom, on the ocean, has a king-size bed. Second bedroom, with a golf course view, has a queen-size bed.

Keauhou is the best weather location of the island of Hawaii....least wind, least rain, most sunny days.....it provides a sense of old Hawaii charm/calm with the amenties enjoyed for daily living.
We return annually to find some changes, but the Aloha spirit remains.
Our home provides a sense of closeness to the sea, watching the seasonal whales, spinner dolphins, sunsets, kayakers from our lanai, frontroom or master bedroom, while at the same time allowing us a large variety of activities just outside our front door...including walking, tennis, pool, golf, shopping, tours.
We feel fortunate to be in such a great location.
We are just about to leave the condo and head out to Maui. Just wanted to let you know we absolutely LOVED it here on the Big Island. There was so much to see and do and the weather was perfect! The condo was lovely, the location for us was great, and it had everything we could possibly need! We would definitely stay in this particular unit again and do plan on coming back.

Nice property. We will be staying again. The property is close to anything you might need. Beach , snorkeling ,shopping,restaurants and all other visitor attractions are close as well
The listing description for the condo is accurate and the property is well-maintained. It could be a bit cleaner. The area under my bed had clearly not been vacuumed since I found coasters under there. There are instructions on the switches to tell you what they do and other detailed instructions that I found very useful. The manager is responsive and helpful.
The condo itself was lovely but there were times when our enjoyment was marred by the noise from the ground floor condo of Building 4. Building 4 is not attached to Building 3 but something strange about the acoustics meant we were disturbed by the television at 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. from the ground floor condo in the next building. I slept with ear plugs in for 2 nights. This happened about 4 times. On one occasion we were having breakfast outside on the lanai and the noise was really annoying. I don't know if those residents are permanently there or if this was just bad luck. The other source of annoyance happened when people moved in to the condo above us. We knew where they were by the heavy footsteps. There is nothing the owner of this condo can do about noise from other condos. It all depends on who is in the other units. There may be no problem at all at times.
This property is well appointed and the beds are comfortable. The lanai does have fantastic views. We watched spinner dolphins in the bay one morning. The kitchen has everything you need. There are fans in the living room, kitchen and over both beds. There is no a/c. There are also 3 flights of stairs to get up to the condo. Neither of these things were a problem for me. However, anyone with mobility issues should not rent here.
The location is close to Keauhou Shopping Centre where there is a KTA store and a couple of restaurants. It is also walking distance to Kahalu'u Beach Park - a great snorkelling spot with toilets, showers and picnic tables.
The only reason I would not rent this condo again is because of the noise from the other units.
Stop your rental search now. Click the "Request to Rent" button. You will not be disappointed. This condo is in a quiet gated complex and is located right on the water. It's so close I can throw ice cubes into the ocean from the lanai (I threw one to see if I could reach). I live on this island so I know summers can get a little hot sometimes. Even though this unit doesn't have AC, I never felt hot. It was always breezy and comfortable. Yes, the unit is a little dated. But the view and spaciousness of the unit easily makes up for it. I'm giving my experience 4 stars instead of 5 only because of some minor ant problems. If you are idle near the dining room/kitchen, one or two tiny ants may eventually find their way onto you. This itself is not a big deal to me but sometimes they'd bite to see if you're food or not. Not painful or anything. Just a little annoying. All-in-all, I would absolutely stay here again and would not hesitate recommending this condo to a friend.
While the unit had everything that we needed, and a wonderful view, in many respects to was shopworn/shoddy. For example: the furniture is the second bedroom look like it an outdated motel six, The can open had what appeared to be rust like spots that could not be removed. The base of the paper towel holder was in a similar condition. It is a shame that the owner does not wish to invest in the unit.
Located within a quiet gated resort, this gem of a condo was on the ocean - so close ocean spray would condense on the lanai screen at night. We were surprised that the place was actually larger than anticipated making our stay that much more enjoyable. The lack of AC wasn't an issue as we left the lanai doors and windows open during the night with fans pulling in the cool night air (80's during the day, 70's during the night). The kitchen was fully stocked with fun cookware and dishes, this foodie was very pleased. A view of the ocean while cooking was spectacular and eating on the lanai was a regular event so we could enjoy watching the birds and ocean waves...even saw spinner dolphins! The beds were comfortable, linens nice quality. Over-sized artwork adorns the walls, making the condo very homey with a lived in feel. We would fall asleep with the ocean waves and awake with the chirping of birds (Nature lovers delight). The master bedroom opens to the living space via three large oriental papery sliding doors - we thought this was great, but might not be for some folks that require more privacy. The TV and electronics are a little dated but realized after we left that we didn't use any of them - the lanai was where we spent the majority of our evenings and all our breakfasts. The condo, since it is on the ocean and near the salty air, has some rust marks on a couple light fixtures and a couple oddly locking doors, but this just added to the overall character. This location is less than 5 minutes from the Kahaluu beach park which is an excellent snorkeling and surfing area. 5 min the other direction is KTA market where you will find Poke and other fresh local ingredients for your favorite recipes. We loved this condo, the location, and look forward to returning someday. My only hope upon our return is so see replacement artwork in the master bedroom - it's become very faded.
If you love to be lulled to sleep by the ocean, cook some great meals, and stretch out and relax - this is your oasis. Mahalo!

CANCELLATION POLICY and INTERNATIONAL TAX FEES
Credit Card - International Tax Fees
International Travelers will have international tax fees withheld from security deposit. For example: credit card processing for VRBO users in United States is 2.9%; international tax fees are an additional 2% totaling 4.9%. Guests using international card will have 2% of total credit card amount charged with-held from security deposit. No charge on domestic (US cards) regular 2.9%; charge on international tax fee only.
Our formal cancellation policy is strict - there are NO refunds. Reservations cancelled 60 or more days prior to arrival can have deposit applied to another stay within one year of original arrival date. Cancellations less than 60 days have NO REFUND.
On an informal note, we understand that the unexpected can happen and would do our best to rebook any cancelled nights/days and try to offer a corresponding refund.
Guests agree to honor all details in RENTAL AGREEMENT upon payment for this rental.
Security Deposit Refunds are set to automatically refund within 7-14 days of check-out. Housekeeper will supply information of damage and corresponding receipts if and when necessary. We're lucky that this rarely occurs!
Cleaning & Guest Supply Fee - this covers departure out-cleaning & tax fee for housekeeper AND it also covers one time stocking for paper towels, toilet paper, soaps (laundry, dishwasher, dish, hand, bath), plastic wrap, garbage bags, baggies, glass cleaner, dryer sheets, etc. so that guests do not need to purchase these items independently.
