|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Make a romantic Tuscan getaway at Villa Di Montesoli. Though the spacious nine-bedroom property offers accommodations in both a main villa and guest house, its interiors feel traditional and intimate, and amenities like a spa area, jetted tub and billiards room are hotel-worthy perks. If you can tear yourself away from the comforts of this renovated farmhouse, the surrounding Val dOrcia landscape is worth exploring, and the city of Siena is a short drive away.
Start your stay by soaking the cares away in the large pool or whirlpool spa, or sweat them out in the sauna. Take a stroll around the grounds, see whats growing in the kitchen garden, prepare the produce on the outdoor grill and enjoy meals or a glass of wine at the al-fresco dining area. In the evening, challenge friends and family to a game of billiards or ping-pong, or relax with TV or Wi-Fi access.
The villas living spaces combine rustic architecture and formal furnishings. In one living room, stone floors and vaulted brick ceilings showcase a remodeled fireplace, traditional roll-arm sofas, carved-wood chairs and Persian-style rugs; in another, striped sofas are pulled around a large farmhouse-style fireplace. Likewise, the dining room mixes beamed ceilings and tile floors with a crystal chandelier, while red upholstered chairs provide a pop of color. The well-equipped kitchen displays country charm in wood cabinets and a cheery pottery collection.
There are eight bedrooms in the main house and one bedroom in the guest house; all nine have en-suite bathrooms and either air conditioning or ceiling fans. In the main house, there are three bedrooms with king beds, two of which have air conditioning and one of which has a ceiling fan. There are also five bedrooms with queen beds, all of which have ceiling fans. In the guest house, the bedroom has a queen bed and air conditioning.
Villa Di Montesoli is about 2 miles outside the town of Buonconvento, where youll find restaurants, a grocery store, a church and train station. Play a match at the tennis court, 3 miles away, or a round at the Borgo la Bagnaia golf course, 19 miles away. Take a day trip to Siena, about 17 miles away, or make the longer drive to Florence, about 59 miles away. Its 87 miles to Pisa, and Rome is 143 miles away.

A group of 16 adults stayed at Montesoli in summer 2016. The property was fantastic. Newly remodeled Tuscan farmhouse, situated on a vineyard and olive growing estate. Has all the comforts of home with en-suite bathrooms; new firm beds; modern kitchen appliances (and 2 kitchens!), a wonderful pool, and plenty of indoor and outdoor places to entertain. It is 5 KM from Buonconvento, which has the largest grocery store (Coop) in the region and plenty of other stores and restaurants. Pietro, the property owner, speaks perfect English and checks in on you every day. Giovanna and Catia, the housekeepers, are wonderful. We had them cook us a lasagna dinner and also had a pizza dinner - fantastic! The villa is stocked with extensive cutlery and cookery, and has modern, large appliances. It is located centrally in Tuscany. We did breakfasts and dinners there and went sightseeing during the day. I have rented numerous properties in the broad area and this was by far the best in 5 years
All the planning into this trip involving 18 family, friends and two young grandchildren paid off: the Villa di Montesoli was great, Tuscany fantastic, and when problems arose due to an airline strike the Luxury Retreat 24/7 emergency line was incredible in helping us with an alternate method of getting to the Villa on time.
The Villa was spacious, the owner and staff very attentive to making our trip glorious, and Pizza night, the celebratory dinner, the deer/wild boar/pheasants on the property enjoyable to look at, and picking fresh eggs from the hens and fresh vegetables from the garden to eat was a delight.
I could not have asked for a more special place and experience than this trip provided.
We had a marvelous time at the Villa. We used it as a base to explore the Tuscan countryside-- San Gimignano, Sienna, Maltecino, Montepulciano and the Chianti region. The Villa was lovely and we enjoyed the pizza dinner and especially the dinner prepared by Joanna the last night we were there. Staff were exceptionally helpful-- Pietro was extremely helpful and interesting-- he was in our opinion engaged and ensuring. We had a very pleasant stay.
