All the pictures provide a great idea of what this property has to offer! There was a market and produce store right across the street and we walked to the Metro every day. St.Giovanni Basilica is very close too. We walked to the Colosseum from here - no need to do the Metro - it would have taken just as long as our walk.
Raffaella met us at the house (after arranging our ride from the airport and back) with her husband. We got the keys and that was it. There is a big book case with all sorts of travel books and Rome books as well as a map of Rome and lots of business cards of things close to the house.
We stayed with our 4 kids and there was plenty of space. The master bedroom is big, and therefore has a king size bed AND a single bed. We also had the crib (provided by the owners!) in the master with us. The other room has a bed that our 2 boys shared. We could have put all the kids in the bigger room if we wanted privacy but didn't.
Each room has a TV with kids movies as well as documentaries and movies - in English and Italian.
Be warned the bathrooms (all over Europe) have a smell. We ended up closing the doors and leaving the window cracked when we were gone for the day. NOT anything against this place - its something with how they do their plumbing or something. The showers were great, but know there are no tubs.
Kitchen is small on counter space but the table was plenty big for the 6 of us. There was only one knife (I could find) and it was serrated and not to great, but we only made dinner 1 night. The others we ate out or heated up leftovers. Fridge is big. There was a toaster and electric tea pot (for heating water). There was also olive oil and salt and pepper.
Raffaella also had a stroller and baby backpack 9along with the crib and some baby toys) there so we didn't have to pack and bring those things from home….a big help!
We have already passed this on to some friends who are planning a trip to Rome.
Had a great time and will always try to find a place like this before staying at a hotel again!
