Bring your family and friends and come stay in our beautiful 3,600 sq ft. mountain retreat! Our home has 5 spacious bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and sleeps 13. The master suite is on the first floor and has a beautiful King bed with luxurious linens and a full bath. There is a half bath just off of the kitchen as well.

Upstairs there are two big bedrooms both with Queen beds that share a Jack and Jill bathroom with tub and shower. Downstairs there are two more bedrooms, one equipped with two sets of bunk beds plus a trundle (sleeping 5), a fun Foosball table for the kids plus another bedroom with two twin beds and loads of kids toys and games. Also downstairs is a sitting area with a T.V., VCR, DVD player and stereo system and another bathroom with a shower.

There is a nice deck off the main level with a brand new gas grill, six person Jazuzzi hot tub and space to sit and relax and watch the sun set over the mountains. In the kitchen you will find anything and everything that you could possibly need or want to cook fabulous meals at home with your family and friends. There is a wood burning fire place in the living room and a gas fireplace in the master suite. Please enjoy any of our many books from our book shelf and our small but nice collection of DVDs during your stay. There is also a nice, big two car garage for you to store all of your gear, complete with ski racks and a beer fridge.

Falcon Ridge sits up high on a hillside in the beautiful Woodmoor neighborhood with beautiful views of the slopes and quaint Breckenridge. It is just a quick 5-8 minute drive into town for shopping, eating, skiing, etc. and there are plenty of mountain bike and hiking trails right out of the door for you to choose from including the wild and wonderful Baldy Mountain. We have several trail maps in the house. The free shuttle bus into town stops a half mile from our house with access to town and the slopes. The roads up to Falcon Ridge are all paved and well plowed during the winter months and offer easy access to our property, however, a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended during the winter months due to the steep grades of the roads leading up to our house.

Falcon Ridge also comes equipped with Cable T.V., wireless internet access, two DVD players and a stereo system.

For your convenience, we also supply a pack-n-play, a highchair/booster seat and a dog gate that can be used to block off the deck so that your pups can hang out outside with you in the summer.

About Kelly Goodwin

We are a military family who are always on the go, moving from place to place serving this great nation! With no place to call 'home' for very long, we decided to buy a place in Colorado where we could come to ski, mountain bike, hike and just relax with family and friends. It's 'home' to us now. We love to share our home with like minded people who enjoy the great outdoors and being active as much as we do. We have two young daughters so it's never boring around here! We enjoy skiing with our friends, taking our kids on long walks through the woods and trails in Breck, boating on Lake Dillon in the summer and just hanging out at our house with family and friends. We also enjoy surfing, cooking, reading and riding bikes. We ride and race bikes a lot! It's kind of our thing. That's what makes Breckenridge so special to us - besides the amazing skiing during the winter, we love to ride the endless miles and miles of sweet, buttery single track that the area has to offer. There are lots of cool races in and around Breckenridge too if that's your thing. If not, don't worry, there are plenty of fun and exciting things to do here that don't involve bikes at all. We sincerely hope that you fall in love with all the different seasons in Breckenridge like we have!

Why Kelly Goodwin chose Breckenridge Area

Why Breckenridge? We feel that Breckenridge stands alone among mountain towns in all the activities that it has to offer during all the different seasons. Besides the #1 visited ski resort in the country during the winter, there are miles and miles of amazing trails to hike, bike and run here in Breck during the summer plus multiple lakes and streams for fishing, kayaking and boating. There is a Nordic center in town that offers classes in cross country and skate skiing, there is an ice skating rink, a recreation center with a fitness center, group fitness classes, two pools, a rock climbing wall, tennis courts and basketball courts. Add all of that to the down to earth, relaxed, friendly vibe of the town, the quaint shops on Main St., quick access to 5 area ski resorts and we were sold. We wanted a beautiful, fun, outdoorsy place that we could bring our kids to year after year. We have found all that and more in Breckenridge and at our home, Falcon Ridge. Hopefully you will agree and come back to stay with us many times over the years!

What makes this house unique

We looked for a house for a long time and we looked at many, many houses in the area. We wanted a house that was big enough to house both of our families during the holidays or a vacation without feeling cramped and we wanted a place that was close to the slopes with access to the great hiking and biking trails. We found all of that and more in this property. We also wanted a place that was comfortable, where we could relax and let go of our worries for awhile. There is great access to town but when you are in the house, it feels like you are miles away. Some of our favorite things to do at Falcon Ridge are to cook out on the grill and have big feasts inside with all of our loved ones. It's also nice that the downstairs caters to the kiddos and they can all be ushered down there to leave the adults upstairs for some 'grown-up' time. The big bay windows at the front and side of the house let in so much light during the day - it's absolutely beautiful! Sitting inside with a fire going, watching the snow fall while sipping a Bailey's and coffee is how we like to spend the chilly winter nights after a long day of skiing! Ahhhhhhh! I wish I was there right now!

Awesome place for a getaway! Gorgeous views, good amenities, PLENTY of room! We easily slept 11-12 adults (+ 1 dog!) in this place and did not feel cramped at all. Kelly was very responsive for the minor questions/issues we had, and the house has everything you need for the weekend. Would highly recommend this place to others!

A great Family Vacation

We had not had a family vacation for a number of years and decided to get away for Spring Break to the mountains. We had my wife and I, plus our 4 grown kids, plus one boyfriend and 3 grandkids ages 11, 9 and 7. So a good crowd.

The house was great for the whole group and there was plenty of room to cook, eat and relax and the way the house is structured with two rooms downstairs, with a game room my daughter and the grandkids could get away from the rest of the crowd.

The house is not right downtown, which actually worked out really great as being out a bit but close enough to go get food, go ice skating, etc. etc. The older ones had a great time skiing and snowboarding. The younger ones enjoyed the ice skating and tubing in Frisco. Also, the unique adventure was Dog Sledding, which the whole family did, not cheap, but a fantastic experience.

Kelly, the house was really nice an clean and had everything we needed for our stay. While we were there extra snow shovels were delivered :) plus someone came and replaced the Hot Tub cover for a ne lighter one. So it was great to see that you are really taking care of the place.

Again a great stay and thanks for everything.

Tricky Access

The Falcon Ridge home is spacious, comfortable, and has a spectacular view. However, the view comes with a price. At 10, 600 ft, the house is 1000 ft. higher than downtown Breckinridge and requires a 3.2 mile drive that includes a 10% grade which one of our vehicles could not negotiate on snowier days. The nearest bus stop is ½ mile away making it an impractical option when skiing.

I was irritated to read in the house’s instructional binder: “A 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended….don’t say we didn’t warn you.” Perhaps this was a poor attempt at humor, but I find it disingenuous, as the VBRO listing does not contain this caution. As 4x4 rentals in Denver are 3 times the cost of a conventional FWD car, it might have been a factor when evaluating the property,

Similarly, the driveway is steeply sloped and was to be plowed whenever snowfall exceeded 4 inches. During our stay we had snow days of 3, 2, 3, and 5 inches. No one ever plowed although the increasing accumulation made access more and more difficult. Importantly, the county snowplow left an ever-increasing windrow blocking the drive that eventual grew to a berm even our 4 x 4 vehicles could not penetrate. We were reduced o shoveling with a small garden spade as there was no snow shovel at the property.

So if your vision of a vacation includes shoveling snow, this is the place for you. Otherwise, wait for warmer weather.

Owner's Response: Falcon Ridge sits about 1,000 ft above downtown but only a quick 8 min drive into town allowing for quick and easy access to town yet it is far enough away to afford serenity and privacy. Most of our guests truly enjoy the scenic location. We always recommend a 4x4 when going anywhere in the mountains in the middle of winter and our house is no exception. In the house information that we send out at the time of booking there is also a strong recommendation for a 4x4 vehicle when accessing Falcon Ridge. We will certainly speak with our plow service about the promptness of the plowing and replace our snow shovels that have apparently been broken or gone missing since January. A large group of male friends stayed here for our ski week, and the house worked out perfectly for us. Lots of room to spread out, and beds for everyone! House was clean and very well appointed. We had a great time and the house was a big part of that.
