|Minimum Stay||3 - 4 nights|
Recently renovated, private one bedroom apartment which sits on the border of the great Boston neighborhoods of Roslindale and West Roxbury. Has everything you need to make your short or medium term stay comfortable, convenient, and affordable! Rents by the day, week, and month. Approximately 600 sqft of fully furnished top floor living space including a spacious bedroom, large living room, new bathroom, efficiency kitchen (no oven) and eating area. Private entrance. Access to shared back porch, grilling area and backyard/patio. WiFi and internet cable included.
7 minute walk to the Needham Line commuter rail (note: does not run on Sundays) and a short bus ride to the Forest Hills T station (orange line). Takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the heart of Boston via train. 10-15 minutes by car depending on where you are going and, of course, traffic. Bus stop right outside the apartment.
Shops, market and restaurants all within a mile. Harvard Arboretum right up the road! Plenty of on-street parking which does not require a permit (only town in Boston where this is the case). Close to Newton and Brookline.
Owner usually on site to help with anything you may need. This is a great way to spend some time in Boston for a fraction of the cost. You're still in the city but in a more comfortable and quiet 'suburban' environment. Very affordable week and month long rates for people who are here for temporary work, school, or just visiting.
Also can be combined with 3 bedroom apartment rental (Homeaway #3655641) as available for larger groups.
Please note that this is a third floor apartment. There is an inclined driveway which you will need to walk to access the back door of the house. From there, you will walk up two flights of stairs.
Please note that it is only an efficiency kitchen (no stove/oven) with some small cooking appliances provided. However, due to the installed electrical system, only one appliance between the kitchen and bathroom may be in use at one time. For most people who stay for a short period, and don't prepare a lot of meals, this is not an issue.
Hi, I am a thirty something, happy-go-lucky kind of guy with an entrepreneurial spirit and adventurous soul. I've spent a good portion of my life traveling with the military, for jobs and school, and of course for fun! I'm a little more settled these days considering my best buddy is my 4 year old daughter so I figured I'd have to get my 'traveler' fix by giving others a comfortable place to stay in the great area of Boston! Look forward to hosting you!
Damon Darienzo purchased this apartment in 2011
Great piece of property in the city limits of Boston. City center accessible but the comfort and feel of more suburban living. You won't find a better value deal in Boston!
My property is one of only a few in the neighborhood/city (Boston areas of West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, and Roslindale) which is completely private. It is the only area of Boston where on street parking is free, AND available. There are limited hotels in the vicinity so space like this is very hard to find.
I travel to Boston once a year or so to visit family but it has been hard to find the perfect place that's close to where they all live. With this one, I think I have finally found it. It is a dear little flat, private, self-contained, well-appointed, comfortable and surprisingly spacious. (Plus the bed is deliciously comfortable!) And it is within walking distance of my loved ones, so for me it is a perfect fit. But I think it would be equally suitable for tourists, as getting into the city from there is easy and fast. And this is a nice area to live, with Roslindale Village and the Arboretum just a short walk away. Recommended.
Great property to stay for visiting Boston. Damon explained all info and quick to respond.
My son and I recently stayed in this nice upstairs suite and it was exactly as advertised in a quiet area west of downtown Boston. It was one of the cleanest, well kept rentals I have stayed at, just right for two persons. The air conditioning worked well and the shower was good. We didn't use the kitchen, except for the fridge, but it looks fine, probably good for small meals. There is a bus stop across the street (take the #38) that takes you to the metro station. From there you can go anywhere in Boston. We thought at first it might be too far away, but the transit is quick and cheap. We bought a 7 day pass for $21 that even got us to the airport. We took the commuter rail from Logan when we arrived, because we had luggage, but realized the metro was almost better. I can't think of another major US or Canadian city that has cheaper transit. Boston is fun, full of history, Fenway was great, and loved the harbour cruise. Damon was on top of all the particulars, it was hassle free. Good value for two people, I would stay again.
The one bedroom apartment was just as advertised on the website -- fine small kitchen, very clean, updated family room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, free parking on the street in front of the building, public transportation right across the street to get into Boston. Damon was easy to deal with -- from signing the contract to getting helpful suggestions with respect to both the apartment as well as access to transportation The first night we walked into the center of Roslindale to have a nice dinner at Sophia's Grotto and to do some food shopping for breakfast at the local market. It was very hot the time we were in Boston, but, the air conditioning worked well and we were quite comfortable after returning each evening from busy days sightseeing in Boston. Would definitely recommend it!
The listing description was accurate; the property was clean and well-maintained. The owner provided very good customer service, and made us feel very welcome. We would gladly recommend this property to our friends and relatives. There is a good grocery store nearby (Roche Bros.), the Arnold Arboretum, restaurants, etc.
Overall our stay was very enjoyable. The owner provided abundant TV, DVD, etc. material, and helpful material about attractions in Boston. Street parking was available, which was very helpful to us.
Two points that prospective guests should be aware of:
1) Getting to the property involves climbing two flights of narrow, twisting stairs.
2) Different parts of Boston duplicate street names, so a GPS can easily send you to the wrong place.
We were quite comfortable here, although needing to watch for steeply slanting ceilings!
A great apartment to come back to after spending your days out in the city. Convenient location for public transit or driving. Tasteful decor and very clean. Would recommend and stay again.
