Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 3

Beautiful free-standing cottage in the heart of Provincetown. This cottage was completely renovated in 2005 with the utmost care and craftsmanship. In 2014, living/dining room, kitchen and bedroom were newly painted.

Outside, you will find a large, private fenced in yard with beautiful mature plants and landscaping, grill station, and gorgeous lawn and 400 square foot deck. All new outdoor furniture as of May 2016 (see photos). It's an ideal place for you to relax with 8+ friends and family.

Inside, you’ll be welcomed by a meticulously maintained home full of personality. The half cathedral ceiling with two skylights floods the living/dining space with natural light. Two sets of french doors and many windows allow for an open air feel during those inspiring Ptown days and cool fresh evenings, or privacy when it’s time to settle down. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, 5 burner gas stove, and a washer/dryer.

Commercial St. is the main gathering for visitors and offers a wide variety of excellent restaurants and stores. All of which is only 0.4 miles away (easy 10 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride). Parking available for one car.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Even More Wonderful Than Expected and Location is Fabulous

"This little cottage was cleverly designed, making use of every bit of space. The kitchen is small, but capable of producing gourmet meals... a gas stove is a rare find in P.town rentals. Cooking equipment and appliances are good quality, attractive and serviceable. The open floor plan and many windows (plus skylights) makes for an open, airy space in which to cook. The bedroom is a cozy retreat, with a remarkable amount of storage space for your clothes.

The outdoor setting is flat out amazing: a fully enclosed, private, landscaped yard, with a second living room on the deck! We spent many hours, at all times of the day, enjoying the insanely comfortable lounging furniture and huge, awesome umbrella for shade (or to hide from raindrops). The neighborhood birds were an additional pleasure.

As advertised, the location near the heart of Provincetown is fantastic... so easy to walk to the center for shopping, eating and entertainment. It is also a delight to wander the small streets nearby, admiring gardens and unique little houses. But there's another stellar bonus about the location: just a short walk down the street and across Route 6 (at the traffic light) and you are in the woods! Take a walk or ride a bike along the path toward (or all the way to) Race Point. Right there, minutes away, is this forested haven. Fantastic. The location also made it easy to pop back and forth to Herring Cove Beach, depending on weather.

Best of all worlds: town, woods and beach just outside the gate of this peaceful little oasis.

Thank you Keith! "

Notes:
Provincetown Bay is a 10 minute walk or a 5 minute bike ride down off Commercial Street. Herring Cove Beach is a 5 minute drive or a 10 minute bike ride to the parking lot. Herring Cove Beach is the most popular beach in Provincetown, this bayside beach has placid waters ideal for a relaxing swimming experience--no undertow and water that is always warmer than at Race Point. Traditionally the right hand side of the beach is considered more family oriented, while the left is more gay-friendly. If you want to avoid the crowds walk north towards Hatches Harbor. You may even see whales breaching or seals basking in the sun. Stay until sunset- this is the place to be for a spectacular view. The sunsets at Herring Cove are unparalleled on the entire Cape, since the sun actually seems to set into the ocean, unusual for the east coast.

Perfect cozy location!

  • 5 of 5

Great location, walkable to everything in town, but nice and private/quiet. Pretty fenced in yard with large deck for outdoor hanging. Clean and bright, the house was good for the two of us, might be snug for 4 adults. Would definitely return!

Charming quiet pet friendly cottage

  • 5 of 5

Wild Blue Yonder provided a warm, cozy, clean setting to enjoy the weekend with our dogs. The cottage is well kept and welcoming with a wonderfully private quaint fenced in yard. We loved how close it is to town, yet set off the beaten path enough to be able to step away from the noise when we wanted to... Keith is organized and makes himself available if there are any questions, etc .We definitively look forward to future stays here!

Keith was very responsive and everything was real nice. Good location, close walk to town, great deck, and a fenced-in yard so the dog had fun too!

Not as Described

  • 1 of 5

I was very disappointed with the cottage. It needs updating and a thorough cleaning. Even though we paid for 6 nights, we stayed for one night and left in the morning. We found a much nicer place to stay. The property is not that convenient to the center of town. Do not count on VRBO to facilitate a resolution.

Owner's Response: Elaine, I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy Wild Blue Yonder. Provincetown is much too magical not to have a wonderful stay. I only wish you had reached out to me directly at the time so we could have worked together to resolve any issues. I would like the opportunity to speak to the concerns you sent HomeAway/VRBO: "It was not convenient to town. It was quite a distance and the road had no sidewalks or bike path." - Wild Blue Yonder is 0.4 miles from Commercial St. which is the main gathering place in Provincetown. Whether this is quite a distance or not I suppose is subjective, but the distance is clearly communicated through Homeaway.com. It's also important to note that there is a rarely traveled and quiet side street which cuts through a cemetery and brings you directly into town. "The bed was against the bedroom room wall and window with an air conditioning unit right next to you. We didn't dare turn it on." - The bedroom has 2 windows - one at the head of the bed and the other on the side of the bed. The AC is brand new as of Summer 2017 and only fits in the window to the side of the bed. Personally, I think this would be preferable to most rather than at the head of the bed. "There was an overpowering odor of some type of air freshener or spray." - As a rule I don't use air fresheners, but for the health and safety of my tenants I do use bleach-based products in the bathroom and all purpose cleaner elsewhere. As a result, odors may linger particularly on cleaning day (you checked in the same day the cleaning staff was there). In the end, I'm glad your Ptown vacation ended on the right foot. You're correct, the John Randall House is a lovely place. I'm good friends with the owner and happy to hear he was able to take care of you. -Keith

Made an already special place MORE special!

Keith's place is a one of kind cottage in the eclectic, energetic and historical place of Provincetown. If you and your partner, parent, friend, or just your furry wingman want an escape to this amazing location, Wild Blue Yonder is the perfect place for your getway! The cottage is cozy but spacious with all the amenities you could possibly need! I think the best asset to the cottage is the outdoor space, furnished with plenty of outdoor seating. It's the perfect spot for enjoying your morning coffee, reading a great book, tanning, conversing with your guests or enjoying a evening cocktail before dinner! All around, it has been a great experience staying at Wild Blue Yonder and I CANNOT wait to come back and stay longer. Keith- you're an amazing host!

We had such a wonderful stay! It was way too short but next time we will book for longer! Just enough space, wonderful backyard. We loved lounging in the sun soaking in the last few days of summer. Would highly recommend!
