We had an excellent stay in Melbourne!! The house was well equipped and Joe was very accommodating!! The view from the home was beautiful. Beach was fabulous and my family really enjoyed fishing on the beach. If you would read a previous review about this rental it is such a false
statement and she's making accusations that are so untrue. OMG she needs to go stay at a elaborate resort not a family oriented friendly beach rental. Thanks for a great week and we will surely be back. The location was great to see my mom but also to do some adventures from beach to Disney to zoo Highly recommend visiting the sabastian inlet we saw the whales when we were there . New England pub and tavern is a great place to eat at .
As our first experience with a 6 week Florida winter rental and as new retirees, this apartment provided much of what we were seeking. Its a clean, cozy and comfortable 2 bed/ 2 bath space; more than adequate for 2 people and accommodates 2 guests nicely with both bedrooms having their own baths. The open concept kitchen-living area is perfect for vacation living. As rental places go the appliances were relatively new and quite usable. The location is steps away from a beautiful, nearly private and walkable beach. The property also has a great gazebo overlooking the ocean, a sunlit pool and patio area, and your own private deck space. All great spaces for outdoor living. We spent much time walking and biking throughout the local neighborhood. The property provides a quiet place to relax but venturing off to markets, restaurants, sightseeing and attractions are all within a very short drive. We were able to visit Kennedy Space Cntr, attend a Kings Cntr concert, a Nationals baseball game, play golf and visit many fine restaurants without driving much more than an hour for any one of them. Joe the manager was always attentive to what few needs we had. We had a wonderful time here and we're looking forward to coming back next winter.
Lets start with the good.On the beach, beds are comfortable. That's about all this "Garage Apartment"has going for it. This is advertised as a condo. It's not that.
When we arrived I instantly smelled a strong odor, almost lethal. The couch in the living/kitchen is cloth, smelled like heavy sweat&greasy. The living room is also the kitchen, very small. The table in the kitchen is way too big for the small room. The utensils/pots/pans/are old and gross. There are only 3 tall water glasses. So be prepared to wash your glasses everyday. The silverware is all thrown into a heap in one draw. The TV is a 12"flat screen. The place is dirty. There is outdoor lawn furniture/chairs supplied as seating throughout the place.NOT COZY! The bathrm towels are stored under the sink in the bathrms, weird. There are no blinds on the bedrm windows. We used 3 sheets to block the sunlight from coming in at the crack of dawn. That really didn't matter anyway, because the owners daughter kept her car in the garage which is right under the bedrooms. So every morning the whole"Apartment shook"when door opened/closed.I couldn't take the smell in this place it was overwhelming. I thought maybe if I stripped the beds and washed everything in site, that might help, NO. After taking one day of MY VACA cleaning this place, l lit candles, put fans on, etc. Nothing helped. As time went on my husband and I got sicker and sicker. We had diarrhea, nausea, headaches and vomiting. We thought we had the flu. After doing some investigating down in the garage; there it was a huge oil/gas pile, that had wood shavings on top of it.The smell was so overwhelming when I opened that door, it nearly knocked me over.It was the smell we had smelled since we got there. So that explains what we thought was the flu. There is also the pool pump and pool equipment below the"Apartment"and there was major flooding of that area as well, which caused the mold.I texted the"caretaker"Joe. He came over and said he was sorry and couldn't smell anything. After that I videoed the oil/gas spill&took pics. The garage was immediately locked by joe. We got a partial return of our money, not what we should have got.Joe admitted there was an old truck spill that was never cleaned up. Something like that has to be cleanedASAP. It cannot be left on a porous floor for a year. We moved to a Hotel & we got better in a day.Our clothes still smelled of gas/oil.DEC&Code Enforce called. We are seasoned travelers.STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. LIARS & NOT HEALTHY
My mom and I stayed at the property in November 2014. The property suited us perfectly with 2 bedrooms and 2 FULL bathrooms. It was close to the beach (no long walk down the boardwalk), pet friendly with a beautiful, private fenced in pool available for our use. There was no one on the beach due to the time of year, so my dog was able to play in the sand and water. Restaurants were close by and there were a couple that delivered. The owners were there during our stay and were in the main house. They were very nice and gave us shopping recommendations and directions. The property manager, Joe, was wonderful. He was very helpful and gave us plenty of restaurant recommendations. He was very responsive to my many questions throughout the entire booking process. I would definitely rent this property again. It was a wonderful experience. Joe and the owners were very easy going, very easy to rent from.
My family and I LOVED our vacation at this house. Our kids are 6 and 4 and they were entertained the entire week. The beach was so private and beautiful. The waves were perfect for boogie boarding. The pool was clean and broke up the time at the beach so our kids were never bored. There were plenty of boogie boards, sand toys, floats and fishing gear in the garage to keep us busy for the week. The house was clean, cozy and adorable. It was equipped with everything we needed including things like toilet paper, laundry detergent and dish soap...things I usually run out and buy whenever renting a vacation house. It was a nice surprise. The manager Joe was very helpful and gave us great dinner recommendations. We will definitely be planning another vacation here in the future.
This property was very clean and well-maintained, Joe was very helpful in giving us suggestions for restaurants and fishing charters. We traveled with our two dogs and the yard is fenced in making it easy to let them out. Beach views are beautiful we hope to return in the future.
Melbourne Beach is the new hot spot for paddle boarding and kayaking where you can launch from the beach at your front door or at Honest Johns Fish Camp on the Indian River Lagoon. Winter weather has been great with temps in the middle 70's!
