1,752 square foot Spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath, open floor plan with large bedrooms. Jacuzzi tub in master bath. Laminate flooring throughout. The home has a wood stove with a river rock mantle, 2 car attached garage and a large deck looking towards the river.
The house is really nice & well appointed. Great location easy driving to the coast, redwoods & out along branches of the Smith River. Had a wonderful time with games, television & fires in the fireplace each evening.
The place was great! Stayed here for a fishing trip. I liked the spacious living and having the 3 bedrooms for privacy. Everything was clean. I liked having the two car garage to park my driftboat in. There is a private road leading down to the Smith river. Had a nice warm fire...stocked with plenty of fire wood too! I would stay here anytime and recommend this property to friends and family. Close to Crescent city and Brookings. Owners provided great customer service.
We were in town for a family wedding and stayed here for 5 nights - 2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant. The owner was very responsive prior to our arrival and we did not need to contact him during our stay at all. The home is exactly what is advertised and shown in the photos with a couple very minor furniture variations (nothing significant). There were a few things I would put in the category of "if it were my own summer cabin, I wouldn't even notice them"... a toilet seat with a rusty hinge, a very loud washer/dryer, a gate that is difficult to latch correctly, and light switches not in the expected places. Again, these are minor things I wouldn't even bother with if this were my home but did give us pause as we lived there for 5 days. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen worked great for us, the common rooms were spacious, towels and bed linens were provided in abundance, the area was beautiful and the short walk to the river was nice. The drive into Crescent City was quick (10 minutes) and there were a number of places we frequented for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Try the strawberry shortcake at the Apple Peddler and be sure to stop and get the tour at the Ocean World Aquarium - it's a small operation but great for young kids!
We stayed here for three nights during a quick mini-vacation to see the redwoods. The location was perfect for us - near enough to Crescent City for supplies, far enough out to feel like country - plus close to Jedediah Smith Park, which has some wonderful tree walks. It is also close to a nice beach at Tolawa Dunes State Park.
The house is large and comfortable with a large living room with fireplace, kitchen/breakfast area, oversized deck with gas grill, and generous sized bedrooms. Having two bathrooms was also nice. The kitchen was fully equipped, so that I had no trouble preparing the meals I had planned.
Although we did not contact the owners during our stay, having had no problems, they were always prompt to respond during the booking and pre-trip phase of our trip. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental for friends.
We stayed here for three nights. We had a truly wonderful time. We enjoyed a fire by the river at night with the kids. The walk to the river took a minute and a half. We brought a 1 year old, 4 year old, and 13 year old and they all had a blast. The kitchen had enough utensils and pots and pans for us to cook on. There was a BBQ also that we were going to use but ran out of time. The porch is nice and big and would hold a good sized group of people. The beds were comfortable. The area is located perfectly in between two cities with beaches. Wen ran into a fair in Crescent City which was fun. The fireplace was stocked with lots of wood and heated the livingroom FAST. We ended up hving to open a window because it got pretty hot. We will come back for sure!
We love this quaint home.....its rustic, cozy, comfortable, and perfect for our Girls week!. Our 2nd visit here and we all felt right at home as we entered this beautiful get-a-way on the river that offers everything we needed. The home is clean and well laid out for 10 Ladies to gather for lots of laughter, cards/ dominoes, drinks and good food. The kitchen is fully stocked for all cooking needs. You can easily walk down to the river and have a fire in the fire pit or hang out on the beautiful covered deck they provide that has a table and chairs to sit and enjoy the surrounding redwood beauty. We have been there both in the the fall and spring and the weather was perfect both times....sunny, warm and no wind as it is so perfectly nestled in the beautiful redwoods. The fall colors were spectacular!!! Our group has been going to the coast for 9 years and this is the 3rd place we have stayed in.....and this is definitely our favorite! The owners were wonderful to work and we even got to spend an afternoon visiting with them on our spring trip...so fun! Thank you Rob and Glenna!! All 10 of us would highly recommend staying here and look forward to many more years of memories in this beautiful home.
Our family just spent a week here exploring the Redwoods and the Coast. The photo shown the back of the home which has woods and a small creek. You can also walk past the neighbor's home down to the Smith River. The large yard is great for kids to run around and there is a very nice BBQ grill and deck which we used while entertaining other family who passed through the area. The only drawback is the master bedroom faces Hwy 197(North Bank Road) which gets a lot of trucks going through. If road noise bothers you might want to pick another place or bring ear plugs to sleep. Other than that we found the home to be very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We bought floats at Big 5 Sporting Goods and kids had a blast on the River. Hike to Stout Grout in J.Smith State Park is not to be missed, Fern Canyon and Prairie State Park in Klamath also a must do. Saw seals and elk on the beach! The Coastal trail south of CC provides lots of great hiking and Harris Beach at Brookings Oregon even had a pod of grey whales going by on July 4th. A great week!
