About Ruth Wall
We are two brothers and their lovely wives, who love keeping this house in as nice condition as it was when our parents lived here. We have grown children and grandchildren and we all live in Maine!
Ruth Wall purchased this House in 1974
Why Ruth Wall chose Rockport
Our parents purchased this house when it was in poor condition in the '70s, and rehabilitated it for their retirement home. It has new floors and a whole new floor plan, with a nod to historic details like the beautiful old paneling around the fireplace. It is on one level with only three stairs to come in from outdoors. We loved bringing our children here to visit their grandparents, and took many walks around the harbor. We have seen many others enjoy the location as much as we have, since we began vacation renting in 2014. Please read the many positive reviews we've earned, and consider enjoying Maine from our central location.

Amazing location literally in the center of the heart of Rockport Village. Walk across street to fine restaurants. 5 minute drive to downtown Camden. Home and it’s porch flaunts views of beautiful harbor. Comfortable accommodations. Needed and loved full kitchen. Brand new shower in master bedroom. Great place to stay.
It’s great to have guests who really take advantage of the kitchen. We’re glad you got to enjoy the view when home from the Craftsman school. Thanks for being a great guest!
This property is really a gem. It is cosy, well equipped and really very well situated. We enjoyed sitting on the porch looking at the harbour area. We would not hesitate to rent this property again.
It's a pleasure knowing that our house can be both comfortable and so handy for people in town for a wedding. We are so glad this worked out for you!
The house, location, views and community where all outstanding! It truly did feel like spending a few days in 'almost heaven'!
Great location! Wonderful front porch for morning coffee & happy hour!
We loved the house & location!! We will be back! Cost of house was worth every penny!!
Great place to relax
The property is in an excellent location with views over the bay, 2 highly rated restaurants within a short walking distance and many others in Camden which is only a short drive away. We really enjoyed relaxing on the front deck in the late afternoon after being out and about during the day. Internally the property is comfortable and decorated in an older, traditional style which may be intended to create an ambiance in keeping with the property and the town. Check in and out is very easy and the owners were readily contactable and keen to make our stay enjoyable. All in all we had a thoroughly good time.
Thank you for coming all the way across The Atlantic to spend some time relaxing in our house on the harbor. You were great guests!
Beautiful Rockport location
Lovely home, and a beautiful location. We enjoyed sitting on both her porch and the deck looking out over Rockport Harbor. Took many walks down to the harbor around the point. It situated to easily to get everywhere. Ruth was a lovely host and even left us fresh eggs from her chickens to enjoy for breakfast. She has a nice selection of books if you just want to sit and read. We have a very relaxing time at this lovely home
This is a beautiful spot for walking. One block in one direction is the working harbor, with windjammers and lobsterboats in action. Bring your kayaks! The memorial to Andre the seal is there, as well as the Rockport lime kiln exhibit. Graffam’s fish market and picnic area make a fun walk at lunch time. In another direction is the quiet road along Beauchamps point, leading past waterfront estates, Children's Chapel and the famous Belted Galloway cows at Aldermere farm.
Camden and all its lovely shops is a 5 minute drive, and will take the better part of the day to explore. The Atlantic climbing School is waiting to take you rock climbing on Mount Megunticook and environs. Or just hike Mount Battie, the muse for Edna St Vincent Millay, on your own. You can even drive up Mt Battie and climb the stone tower for a sweeping view of Penobscott Bay.
In August, it's blueberry time, and the Union Fair is in full swing with old fashioned ox pulling, pie eating contest, and prancing ponies. Autumn brings more lovely walks through the foliage, apple picking in Hope, or across Beech Hill, to see the low bush blueberry bushes all burnished red.
Attend one of the many Bay Chamber concerts right across the street.
