The View is spectacular. The house is spacious and comfortable. Newly remodeled bathrooms. The kitchen is a cooks delight. It features a 6 burner gas stove, stainless steel appliances, double ovens, wine refrigerator, prep sink in the center island and granite counter tops. BBQ on the gas grill on the deck just outside of the kitchen while enjoying outdoor seating with a view. Both bedrooms have Cal King size beds and flat screen TVs. There is a small room off of the living room that has a day bed with a trundle, just big enough for a couple of kids or pushed together can make another King size bed. The Hot Tub is located on a private deck just outside the Master bedroom and is great for late night star gazing, early morning sunrise soaking and daytime relaxing. The living room is cozy with a wood fireplace and a large flat screen TV that is connected to Directv Satellite programing, and there is a wide variety of movies on Blueray & DVD. But who has time to watch TV when there is so much to do? Stay in or go explore the area, either way you'll love it.

About Elaine (aka Nikki) Scoggan
We have lived most of our lives in Northern California. Bodega Bay is our 'Happy Place'. We work full time and plan to retire one day to Bodega Bay.
Elaine (aka Nikki) Scoggan purchased this House in 1997
Why Elaine (aka Nikki) Scoggan chose Bodega Bay
We spent our Honeymoon at a home up the hill and around the corner from Southern Exposure. We've rented vacation homes in Bodega Bay and vacationed with our family for many years until we were able to buy Southern Exposure.
What makes this House unique
The house is spread out, it's nice to separate from family or other guests if you choose. I love being able to hear the ocean when the windows are open. The beep from the fog horn on Bodega Head is comforting. I love walking on the beach and looking for shells. Every season has special events that are fun to do, for instance in April the Fisherman's festival is always fun with a boat building contest and race along with craft booths and the blessing of the fleet. In October Art Trails is fun to explore different local artists studios. Local farms and wine tasting are always fun to visit. I love to take a drive along the coast. And after doing all or none of that I can come back to the house and relax! The house is a Home!

The perfect R&R
We absolutely loved Southern Exposure! Besides having a mesmorizing view, convenient location, privacy and room to chill, it has the most well equipped kitchen of any vacation rental I have rented ( and I have rented a lot!) It has been well maintained with many upgrades. The beds are very comfortable ( important) and having a hot tub was a bonus. We would definitely stay here again.
I am so glad you enjoyed your stay! I strive to make Southern Exposure comfortable and homey. I have to give credit for the view to a higher power. Please come back again.
Beautiful home great place to reconnect!
My sisters and I had a wonderful time in Bodega Bay- the home was perfect for enjoying the view, wine and the company. Great kitchen- we all had kitchen envy! I would definitely recommend this home to anyone visiting Bodega Bay.
My Happy Place Too!
Southern Exposure is my dream come true. This was the third stay to celebrate my birthday and each stay is better than the last. I love the new rockers in the sunroom, perfect for reading a book and looking at the amazing view. Kitchen has everything you could ever need, beds are very comfortable and a soak in the hot tub each night is perfect for a peaceful slumber. Mother Nature puts on a show each day with the view of Bodega Head, the bay and the ocean, many sights are easily accessible, although just relaxing is my favorite activity. Nikki has added many little touches to make it even more welcoming. She is wonderful to work with and stays on top of every detail. My only suggestion is to put a lighted magnifying mirror in the master bath for some of us over 50!
As I drive away each year I dream of my next stay at this little slice of heaven. Thank you Nikki and Jim for sharing this special place.
We couldn't have found a more beautiful home to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with our family. We arrived in time to enjoy a glass of wine on the deck as we watched the sunset. The state of the art kitchen, clean and comfortable hot tub and a home perfectly stocked with an incredible view created the best VRBO experience we've had. I hope to return in the future.
Thank you Mary. I’m so glad you and your loved ones had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Southern Exposure and I look forward to having you return.
Wonderful and restful weekend
We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. Beautiful and well-stocked kitchen, recently remodeled with all new appliances. As great as the house is, even more amazing is the fantastic view. Many thanks for a fantastic weekend.
Great place! The place was so accommodating. I don’t think there is anything missing that a person would need. Needed shucking tool for the oysters and there was one. Thank you Nicki we will be back.
Bodega Bay is a small fishing village north of San Francisco by about an hour. The bay itself is a sheltered cove. There is plenty to do fishing, canoeing, diving, surfing up the coast a little ways, and playing on the beach. There is horseback riding, golfing at the Bodega Harbour Golf Links, and wine tasting in nearby Sonoma Valley. In April, the Fisherman's festival brings out many arts and craft booths, they host a boat building contest and have live music. In July, they have a fireworks show that can be seen from our deck. In August, the food, and wine festival features many local restaurants, beer and wine makers. In October, Art trails offers open artist studios to the public featuring local artists in Sonoma county. Twice a year there is whale watching on Bodega Head, park rangers are there to answer questions and give information. Year round enjoy the beaches, fly kites, explore the many little shops in Bodega Bay and eat crab and clam chowder! Other Activities: Art Galleries, Wine tasting, Nature hikes
