This great vacation home is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with a great in town location, within walking distances to Vons market and many restaurants/businesses and right on the shuttle route.

This big unit feels like a house on the inside and is a duplex on the outside, in a well maintained complex with nicely separated duplex units. The common area is great for entertaining, with indoor heated swimming pool/Jacuzzi/sauna, and tennis courts. There is an onsite manager. It has two parking spaces in back of the unit. There is also an overflow lot on Chateau Rd for additional vehicles. It's important that guests don't bring too many vehicles because the town doesn't allow for street parking in winter.

Shuttle stop #5 (red line) is located right outside of the complex, which provides a free service every 15 minutes during winter to the Main Lodge and many stores and The Village on the way. Our guests can easily walk to several restaurants & shops on Old Mammoth Road, including The Stove, Skaadi, Shogun. Von's Market shopping center is also within walking distance with a multi-cinema movie theater & many other shops & eateries.

The interior floor plan is very nicely set up with the living room/dining room, kitchen, master bedroom and one of the bathrooms, upstairs. The master bedroom has a king size bed and custom mountain log furnitures. Living room has a comfortable sofa which does not convert into a bed, but could easily sleep one in a pinch. There are recliners & lunge chairs to make your stay super comfy. All upstairs rooms have high vaulted ceilings, wood beams and baseboard heating with separate controls. The living room has a free standing wood stove fireplace, with firewood supplied by us on the balcony. There is also a charcoal barbecue grill on the deck.

We have taken the pain and the extra expenses to install a high speed broadband internet with WIFI router thru-out the unit, NOT the sloooooow local cable internet access commonly found in many of the rentals.

There are three more good size bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs. Washer and dryer is provided for guest use. All four of the bedrooms have LCD TVs/DVDs and there is also a large LED TV with Blu-Ray DVD player in the living room. The downstairs bedrooms and all three bathrooms have heaters with separate controls for each room. For downstairs, the front bedroom has a king bed and also custom log furnitures.

The middle bedroom is what we called 'Antique' room, with a queen size bed & and an antique non-functioning iron heater at the corner. The back bedroom has a bunk bed plus a convertible bed with a roll out bed below the oak framed bed should our guests need another bed. Lots of beds for flexibility, but at about 1750 square feet we like to limit the size of groups to about ten or eleven so everyone can have a bed to sleep on. The maid service supplies linens, towels and bathroom supplies, but larger groups should bring extra towels for the indoor pool/jacuzzi/sauna--very close to our unit (behind the unit and across the short driveway)--don't forget swimsuits.

We will provide entry instructions once the rental is fully paid for. Check-in is after 5 PM. If you want an earlier check-in, email us and we will try our best to accomodate you if there is no back-to-back guest checking out on your arrival date. Guests need to check out at 10 AM or get an OK from us in advance as we may be able to schedule the maid service for the following day. When leaving, guests are expected to load and start the dishwasher plus take out any excessive trash.

This stylishly furnished unit with many unique mountain furnishings is great for your High Sierras getaway.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything except food. Cook to your delight if you so desire.

What makes this condo unique

Our unit is located right on the shuttle route with shuttle stop right outside the complex. Walking distances to many of our favorite shops and restaurants. 1 min. walk to indoor pool/oversized jacuzzi.

Your Home worked out great. Thank you. The forest fire starting Saturday was unfortunate to all in the area. The lack of fresh air circulation in your home was a minor inconvenience. The one portable oscillating fan upstairs did help. We left your home in as good if not better condition than when we arrived. Please ask your cleaning crew to give you my California hunting and fishing licenses and mail it to me. We left them a generous tip.

Hope to see Mammoth next year and would recommend your home to others.

Would stay here again

The property was at a good location, Vons was just a short drive. The complex wasn't loud at all even it being Labor Day weekend. The unit was spacious and clean and it served it's purpose of just cooking, sleeping, and showering for us (we were out all day exploring). We went with a party of 6 adults and 4 children and the space was enough. Maybe not that great if you plan to stay in with kids because there isn't much of an area for kids to play even though the picture of the yard made us think there was. the pool area was just across they way but we didn't take advantage of it. We loved the queen sized beds in 3 of the rooms and the kids' room was just enough for the kids. Top bunk could have used a railing for safety to prevent falls. Living room was a good size, somethings were not in working order but they were things that we were able to be with out.

A very comfortable condo in a good location.

We stayed in the same unit five years ago and with 8 people (men) this year, we expected to be a little cramped, but found that the unit was in good shape and had enough beds. The unit has three bedrooms downstairs, with two bathrooms and one master bedroom and bath upstairs. It has been difficult to find a reasonably priced unit with enough beds for our group in the past. There were plenty of blankets and linens and the nice washer and dryer kept us cleanly attired. The only negative thing I could say is that the WIFI was really slow and unreliable. We were (per the great instructions from Doris) constantly having to reboot the router. Since there were 8 folks in the unit, this was most likely a contributing factor.

The complex is in a central, quiet location and is nicely maintained. There were several groups of high school aged cross country runners staying in the complex, but other than monopolizing the big/nice and clean Jacuzzi a few times, there were no problems. The swimming pool was always clean and refreshing.

Doris was very responsive to our questions and answered each email within a day. It is nice to deal with a "professional" owner. I would stay here again!!

Family Vacation.....

Fantastic vacation!! There were three families - five kids ages 5-13, with five adults. The condo was a great fit for all of us, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. There was more than enough room for all us to relax. The kitchen and laundry area was great the wives had no complaints, everything worked fine. The pool was right across from our unit and it was very well maintained the kids and adults used it almost every day after our daily outings. The location is really convenient with Von's two blocks away, restaurants were walking distance, and the local shuttle was very convenient a two minute walk to the pick up spot. I would definitely recommend this unit to my friends and this will be my first choice to stay again. I would like to thank Doris, she responded to emails and phone calls very quickly answering all of our questions and seemed to be always available if we had any problems(which we did not have). Staying at this condo made our vacation even more enjoyable.

Convenient

The condo was convenient to local shops, restaurants, lakes and other fun activities. The condo was well maintained and it had everything that you needed for the stay for both cooking and doing laundry. It was also very convenient next to the pool, spa and jacuzzi. We would definitely stay again in this condo next time we visit Mammoth.

Not very accomodating!!!

This was our second time renting from this woman. I will never rent here again! She was not very accomodating. I contacted her the day of arrival and asked if there was a possibility of us getting in a little early because we had an infant and a toddler with us. She didn't attempt to help at all. Then she told us that technically the cleaning crew had until check in time - which was stated as 4:00 pm on our rental agreement - to finish cleaning the place. We showed up at 4:00 prepared to start dinner and unpack and the cleaning crew had not even been there! When I contacted her she conveniently changed the check in time to 5:00 pm. Who pays X amount of money on the first day to literally only sleep there!! I have never heard of or had a 5:00 check in at any place I have ever stayed in Mammoth. I let her know it was unacceptable that we had to wait for the cleaning crew to leave at nearly 5:00 to do anything. Hungry, crying kids and all!! I asked for accomodation and she offered a late check out. Didn't accomodate us at all because we had to leave at the regular check out time in order to meet prior commitments at home. This trip was the most horrible trip I have ever had to mammoth and we will never rent from her again.

Owner's Response: Our normal check-in time is 4:00 pm which is stated clearly on our condo check-in information given to the guests usually 3 weeks prior to arrival if payments have been cleared. When guests have requested an early check-in, I will usually grant it if there is no back-to-back rental prior to their arrival date. However, for this arrival date, there is another set of guests checking out in the morning, and for that reason, an early check-in will not be available for the new guest. Reason being that the cleaning crew needs time to prepare the condo. When this guest called me and stated that they were at Mammoth and asked if they can check-in early, I called our management company numerous times to see whether they can put our condo in priority for cleaning so I can let them in early. Maybe 5-6 phone calls were made, to different staffs and departments of our management company, trying to get an earlier cleanign schedule to accomodate my new guests, however, due to the cleaning crew's schedule, our condo was not cleaned until 4 pm and was ready by 5 pm. The reason for the late clean-up on our condo, per our management company, was due to their lack of staff for that particular day due to unforseen circumstance. For the number of years we have used this management company, this late cleaning schedule to our condo was only a second time, the first being during the Christmas/New Year week when the town was fully booked and the staff was extra busy.
