About Suzanne Thompson

Clayton and Suzanne settled in the NC mountains after he retired from the Navy. She is a mystery author and he owns a book store. They enjoy traveling, especially to France.

Suzanne Thompson purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Suzanne Thompson chose West Jefferson

They fell in love with this lake cabin the minute they laid eyes on it and decided right then and there to create a little getaway for themselves that they could share with others. They have enjoyed redecorating and adding little touches that would make Petite Maison du Lac special for their guests.

What makes this cabin unique

A lot of people don't even know that Ashe Lake exists. It seems remote but it is actually close to a lot of amenities and plenty of activities. When you pull up and step out of your car you will smell the pine trees and maybe hear the splash of a jumping fish or a duck on the lake. Instantly, you feel relaxed.

Stayed here with my wife and little girl. We loved the cabin. Very quite and in a great location. Will definitely look into returning the next time we visit the mountains.

The cabin was very nice with many wonderful amenities

  • 5 of 5

Our trip just happened to be right when the storm came through on Monday October 23-but even though we could not go outdoors and enjoy the mountains the cabin was so cozy that the day turned out to be very nice. The cabin has everything you need for a wonderful stay... Such a nice get away.

Great Home

  • 5 of 5

We were up for the weekend and loved our little getaway spot. Great location and home was well appointed. Convenient to Boone and Blowing Rock and don't miss downtown West Jefferson. Boonedocks is a must as is Blowing Rock Brewery if over in BR! Brought my Love from Northern California for her first trip to NC mountains. Fairly sure she wants to come back! Home is great and highly recommend.
