Gorgeous views and sunsets. Near Boston and New Hampshire. Beaches, beaches, beaches
Clamming, swimming, biking, hiking, birdwatching, etc. Children enjoy the new playground a short walk from the house with state of the art equipment in fenced, safe park by the beach.
Summer guests were very pleased with the cleanliness and
views from this newly remodeled home. Most were familiar
with the North Shore and enjoyed the beaches in Ipswich.
House was very clean, bright & comfortable. Good view of the water & Plum Island w/ a neighborhood beach within walking distance. One of bedrooms is located in the finished portion of the basement. Very good washer & dryer & lots of towels & beach chairs available.
Crane Beach in Ipswich is wonderful & can be reached by car for a fee or boat if available. Russell Orchard on Argilla Rd. on the way to Crane Beach sells great doughnuts, cider & ice cream. Berry picking is also available there.
Ipswich has houses that date back to the 1600s. Good places to eat are Riverview Pizza & Choate Bridge Pub, which has great seafood.
The house is perfect. I stayed by myself, this was an exercise in solitude and possibly one of my top vacations and much of it was this house. The views are spectacular, endless and available from every single window. The home is well appointed, comfortably furnished, tastefully decorated and spacious. There is access to the wrap around deck from just about anywhere you are standing. Turn, see the view, step out and soak it in.
I found it very hard to leave and explore the surrounding beauty, but when I did it was well worth it. It's a few minutes drive to Crane Beach and the main street of Ipswich, which has nice shops and some restaurants. Lots of activities very nearby. I highly recommend Windswept.
This was truly a gem of a find! A large, beautiful home located at Great Neck in Ipswich, overlooking the gorgeous Plum Island Sound. Perfect for a group of six--five adults, one child. Two twin beds that convert to a king on the lower floor, a fold out couch on the main floor--with a view to die for!, and an upstairs master with adjoining twin room on the upper floor. Two full baths that were modern and clean. A big, spacious kitchen with all amenities and new granite countertops. A large dining table perfect for card and game playing. A roomy patio with nice furniture, and a terrace that wraps around the house. Spectacular! Plus, beach umbrellas, small coolers, beach chairs, passes to two local beaches - including the scenic Crane Beach that sits beneath the stunning Crane Estate. Only five minutes, but worlds away, from downtown, historic Ipswich, the birthplace of America's independence. Visit www.historicipswich.org to take in a slice of America's history. Forty minutes north of Boston, or just over an hour to enjoy a lobster roll in Maine. Take the Duck Tour in Boston, walk the two mile Freedom Trail (self-guided tour), visit Fanueil Hall, Salem, and the charming coastal towns of Newburyport and Rockport. For all your Ipswich attire, visit The Jungle Store on Main St. Great quality and excellent pices. Lastly, do not leave Ipswich without indulging in the highly acclaimed Clam Box, home of the most scrumptious Little Neck clams and other delicious seafood. Look it up on Yelp or TripAdvisor. All in all, VRBO #123484 is the ideal home away from home when visiting the North Shore/greater Boston Area. On behalf of our family of six: twelve thumbs, WAY up! We will absolutely be back! Thank you!
We spent a week at this beautiful, comfortable, well-maintained home at the shore. Wonderful location a short drive to Crane's Beach and half hour from Salisbury Beach. Numerous sliding doors provided cooling breezes. View from decks is spectacular. Very relaxing place to stay. Thoughtful, considerate owner called to make sure we were happy with the home.
We spent several weeks here and loved every minute of it. Thanks for all the special details the owners
took care to provide. Great for families and the beach is fantastic. We would recommend it to all ages.
This house was not toddler-friendly as advertised. There were no baby gates and there were two staircases (including a particularly dangerous spiral staircase). There are no doors on any of the bedrooms, so there is no privacy. The owner accused us of stealing her beer, and then backed down from the accusation without apologizing for making it in the first place. She also kept part of our security deposit for "excessive fingerprints" on the slide doors (she knew we had a toddler) and accused us of having excessive garbage in the garbage pails. There is a hot tub but its use is prohibited. The beach is not walking distance as advertised. The decor is not updated, and the furniture on the porch is in particularly bad condition. When we let the owner know of several small items that needed repairing, she accused us of causing the damage.
Whale watching, charter fishing, lobster boat trips, 40 minutes from Boston by train, 20 minutes by car to Newburyport, New Hampshire, Gloucester and Rockport.
