Why Julie Schulz chose Florida

This unspoiled area of the Gulf coast has been unchanged for many years. Small towns along Highway 98 reflect the relaxed atmosphere of the south. Charter a fishing boat, eat the freshest oysters you ever had, and explore unique shops in Apalachicola.

What makes this house unique

You can really get away from the rat race here. It area has been left 'natural' and is home to many birds, deer, even the occasional black bear or the little gator that lives in the pond across the road. Even in the warmest weather, the screened porch is comfortable for dining. And the beach is nearly private, and has gentle waves and the beautiful soft white sand that this area is famous for.

Love this place!

  • 5 of 5

It's our third year staying here during the summer, and we will continue coming back each year. The house is very accommodating for families with children of all ages. The pool was perfect for the toddler, while the tweens fished, kayaked, and explored the beaches. We have found our traditional spot for many years to come!

Beautiful home and very peaceful setting.

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay. Only wish you could get to the pool from within the development. Lots of wildlife to view at the ocean. If you are looking for peace and quiet then this is definitely a great choice.

Owner's Response: Hi Michelle; Thank you for your great review of our Summer Breeze vacation rental. Yes, we too wish that the pool was closer. I will check our listing to make sure that it is clear that you must drive to the pool. Other than that, I hope you enjoyed the nearly deserted beach and the fresh seafood from the area. We'd love to have you back at any time!

Spacious and plenty of room.

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED our stay! Very relaxing and on rainy days we put puzzles together as a family. Small game room with puzzles, board games and books which we really enjoyed! The only down fall for us was mosquitoes were terrible! Not sure if it was just the time of year but just in case bring bug spray! The beach was beautiful... and although the pool is a few miles away we took full advantage of it and loved the pool area! My family used Kayak's at least 3 or 4 times and they loved it. This trip was much needed for my family and it was the perfect spot!!! Thank you Julie for making everything so easy!!! SummerCamp was great choice!

Owner's Response: Thank you Becky for your great review of our Summer Breeze vacation rental. I do try to have books, puzzles, etc., available for those rainy days or just for some indoor down time. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes can be bad at times; it depends on how much rain we've had. But they are rarely at the beach area. I'll get some spray stocked for our guests,,, just in case. We hope you will be back for another stay with us and you can again enjoy the pool and the kayaks, and maybe some great day trips to local places of interest, as there is a lot to do in the area. Come back soon!

Beautiful home in a secret spot

  • 5 of 5

We were so excited to stay in this home! Beautiful inside and out, stocked with everything you could think of, and when we had an issue on arrival the owner was quick to respond and resolve. The kids stayed in the two bedrooms on the second floor (each with their own bathroom, and the trundle has been replaced with two twins that could be pushed together for couples) and we all really enjoyed the porch swing. The shining star of this home is the master suite, which my husband and I called the Tree House - it's the entire third floor, even with the tops of the trees, and amazing to wake up to in the morning - not to mention the walk in rain shower that's as big as our bathroom at home. The beach is a 5 minute walk down the street, where saw 2 people while we were there, and got to play with whelks and crabs in the gentle waters.

Owner's Response: Hi Heather and thank you for your informative review of our "Summer Breeze" house. Even though it sounds like you spent some time on the great, almost private, beach, there are some nice places nearby for day trips like the Florida Caverns in Marianna and Wakulla Springs State Park. We hope you will come back again soon!

I recently stayed at this property. It was a quite, peacefully neighborhood. The house had everything I needed. My dogs loved the beach. We were usually the only ones on the beach. The only downside is that it was a little further walk to the beach than I thought it would be. We decided to drive to Turkey Point to get to the beach. This made it easier for us to take all of our beach stuff. A great place to stay.

Owner's Response: Hi Julie; We are so glad that you enjoyed the house, the area, and the always nearly private beach! It's great to have a house and beach that are dog friendly and we'd love a picture of your dog (or family!) enjoying the beach for our Facebook page. There are a lot of places nearby that make for great day trips too, so we'd love to have you back again any time! Hope to see you soon!

Beach and woods hidaway

  • 4 of 5

Close to the beach and a lovely boardwalk. Lovely home away from home. Grill was not working, and very far from kayacs and pool, but very private and quiet.

Owner's Response: Hi Gretchen; That you for your input and we are glad you enjoyed the house and the area. We do try to note that the pool and the kayak areas are on the other end of the SummerCamp subdivision and that it is a short drive over to that area. We will look at our listing to be sure our information is clear on this point. Additionally, we had asked maintenance to replace both propane tanks and we do apologize for the grill (brand new grill!) not working. We are looking into the matter but wish you had called at the time you were staying at the house to give us a chance to correct the problem. In any case, we hope to have you stay with us again for a relaxing get away and we will make sure the grill is in good working order!
