Great house with plenty of room for 12. Lots of movies and games for entertainment!!
Great time and the house was very well stocked for the kitchen and baths. Swimming close by and the cave is only a short drive. Owner was very nice to do business with!!
It's hard to find rentals this nice, we loved it!
Our group of 6 adults & 2 kids stayed for the Mammoth Cave edition of our annual National Park Pilgrimage. It was an easy drive to the park which was our main event, but kept us from the touristy, crowded scene that we don't enjoy.
The beds and bed linens were comfortable, furniture was also comfy and the towels were nice. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, appliances and gadgets. The house in general we found to be among the best stocked rentals we've ever stayed in. We spent a lot of time enjoying the deck. The wifi is good, those of us with verizon didn't get much cell service (which was kind of a treat) - however, there is a landline if it became necessary to call out.
Greg isn't joking when he tells you about the steep driveway. Our rental SUV wasn't tough enough to go up forward, but we backed up it without a problem. The second vehicle in our party was all-wheel drive and it had no problem, even right after a heavy rain.
In closing, we highly recommend Greg's house!
This was more than what we expected even with all the great reviews.
My husband and I took our 2 daughters and son-in-laws and 2 grandsons (ages 2 1/2 and 1) on family vacation. Each family had one floor for sleeping quarters with bathroom which gave them privacy. The house was very clean and well kept. It was fully supplied with everything needed. We cooked evening meals at house and had more than enough pans, dishes, utensils,, gas in grill etc as well as lots of cleaning supplies. The porch off living room was great. It was completely safe for little ones to play and not worry about falling. We spent a lot of time out there enjoying the nature sounds and relaxing even when it rained a little bit. Plus that is where we ate since dining inside didn’t really accommodate seating for all of us at once which we didn’t mind because it was beautiful outside. The basement was roomy; and if our grandsons were older, would have been a great place for them to hangout. We used the hot tub every evening. We had problems figuring it out at first and left Greg a message and he called right back. The house had games, movies, corn hole etc. Each day we went somewhere such as Moutardier (close to house with fishing and great playground for kids), Mammonth Cave, Adventure Down Under, Dinasaur World, horseback riding, hiking, fishing and went to Nolin Lake Park Beach. All were within about 30-45 minute drive as well as a WalMart. The local Ralph’s Market was close to pick up extra grocery supplies as well as fishing bait and gear. We all had Sprint cell phones which had no service most of the time anywhere in the area but the house had excellent WiFi. We went first of May and those tiny ticks were really bad so bring repellent. Many reviews talked about the driveway but we all had 4-wheel or front wheel drive and didn’t have any problems. Overall, this house and area was an excellent choice for our family vacation. We loved it!
Beautiful, spacious home!
If you are looking for a house large enough to accommodate a large family (or in our case two large families), this is the house for you! This house is situated on a beautiful wooded lot overlooking Nolin Lake. We are from Northern Michigan so it felt like a home away from home. The beds were comfortable and the property owner has taken great care to ensure you will have everything you could need for your stay. Mammoth Caves, Kentucky Down Under, the Corvette Museum, and The Ark Encounter are a short drive from this peaceful house. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Beautiful home, what a view!
As a family of 11 with ages stretching from 3 to 72 years old, we look for room to stretch out, hot tub, a great view, and a place to relax and enjoy our family. We found it in this home. We had room to play games and laugh together, room to get away from each other, if needed, room for the young kids to play on one level and the adults to relax, nap, talk, on another level. We sat outside and watched a powerful storm move in on Wednesday afternoon into the evening and even enjoyed time when the power went out for several hours. The owner has provided lanterns and flashlights which we used with thanks. We even played a couple of games by lantern light. What a memory that will be to add to our family vacations. This house will have a place on our "Future list."
We were a group of eight teachers staying for two nights. Greg’s house was fantastic. It was one of the most well equipped places any of us had ever stayed in. The owner was quick to respond with answers to our questions and advice about area dining. His lake home was beautifully furnished and so comfortable. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to visit again!
