Why Daniel den Ronden chose Amsterdam-Centrum
I lived in this neighbourhood after having lived in quite some areas in Amsterdam, this property to me is unique due to its location in the heart of the city center, in walking distance to everywhere. Whereas one of the main squares with all cafes and restaurants and theaters are just around the corner, this side street is quiet and provides me with the small quiet oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle. Maybe silly to mention, but there is a fantastic supermarket just 2 blocks away and is open every day from 8 in the morning (at least I have been told) until 10 in the evening and is almost always open! All these amenities in the neighbourhood give me the freedom to do things and experience things whenever I want. That option, whether or not used, gives me peace.
What makes this Apartment unique
Location of the property, all the modern amenities I want, the comfort of every detail, the historical building it is in, and definitely the option of evening walks along the canals (which is one of my favorite things I love doing).

Perfect little apartment for two!
The property was exactly as depicted and just what we were looking for! There is a separate bedroom and kitchen area so we could have a leisurely breakfast “in”. It was a super location—walking distance to canals, museums, the center, train station etc, Maybe the thing we appreciated most after our overnight flight was that the bed was so fabulously comfortable! The temperature was easy to adjust and we were very happy there. We stayed three nights and could have stayed longer but for our reservations in another city. Thank you!
Cozy apartment, small but functional.
This is a small apartment but very adequate. All is in order and communication with Daniel was attentive from our first communication throughout the whole process. The location is great as well.
Thanks Rosemary, glad that you enjoyed your stay with us!
A perfect location
Overall, great location and apartment in Amsterdam. Dan was very responsive and had great instructions once we arrived. Would recommend to anyone who’s in the city for a quick weekend.
Right off the Jordan area with tree lines streets and within a 2 minute walk from Tram 2 drop off. Very easy to get to. It is very small but worked for your two night stay in Amsterdam.
Great location but left disappointed.
While the location of this VRBO was walkable and very close to the city center, there were a few things that left us feeling the listing was not worth the price we paid. First, when we arrived after several hours of travel we were asked to wait outside while Dan finished getting our room ready. We arrived a few hours after our listed arrival time of 8am so I was very surprised the room wasn't ready and that he did not know what room we were staying in either. Second, there was a small dog in the building that was barking way too frequently (I also have small dogs and would NEVER have them bark this much). It would bark periodically for long stretches of time during the day, as early as 7am and as late as 11pm. It was very disruptive in an otherwise very peaceful and quiet area. Third, which we informed Dan of right away, there was a mouse that ran across the bedroom floor our first night there. It ended up crawling into one of the many cracks in the wall along the floor, so we do not know where it came from or where it went. While there is a slight chance it somehow came in the window, it did make us question the cleanliness of the apartment. Fourth, there was a few times we had to close our window because smoke from another apartment would blow into our room. Not sure what the rules are for other apartments in the building but our room was non smoking specifically, because I cannot stand the smell. While staying at a place with no air conditioning, it is not fun to have to close your window because of smoke from another room coming in. Fifth, the water heater in the kitchen was leaking, which I think Dan was aware of because there was a towel wrapped around a certain part of it. Lastly, the pictures from the posting were misleading in my opinion and definitely were taken to make the listing look larger than it actually is. It is also clear that the pictures are quite old because none of the windows in the pictures had cracks and breaks in them like they do now. While we had a wonderful time in Amsterdam and we choose to rent an apartment for the sake of having a kitchen, rather than renting a hotel room, I was disappointed by this apartment rental and would rather have gotten a hotel with similar pricing.
Thank you for your constructive feedback. First of all, I am sorry to see that everything did not go as it should with your stay and we take all your comments very seriously. Indeed on your day of arrival, we had to change the bedding at the last moment because we discovered the sheets had been miscolored (most likely due to someone using hair-color and then the washing not getting those color stains out). Our cleaning lady did not see this as a problem but Daniel wanted to change the sheets nonetheless so that your bed would look impeccable even if this meant we had to ask you to wait a few minutes, we are very sorry for the inconvenience this caused you. Having worked in the hospitality business in 20 years we do understand how important cleaning and hygiene are; that is why the apartments are cleaned every other day and before check-in, we have years of experience and positive reviews on our cleaning. What I will say is that if guests such as yourself are leaving chips, cookies, candy, fried lasagna in the microwave and then not expecting this might attract unwanted visitors then we feel this is not our responsibility. You did report seeing a mouse and we immediately hade the apartment sanitized and we actually spent 2 days doing a deep clean after your stay there due to all the food which was left everywhere. The crack in the window is very recent, the entire apartment and courtyard were repainted and looks new and pristine but one of the workers pushed his ladder into the glass so there is a tiny crack and we have ordered a special museum glass due to the historic building which takes a while to receive. Your other comments we do not recognize perhaps our neighbor had a party on his roof-terrace one evening but we have never experienced any smoke or barking, leak problems as we also live in the same building. For the pricing and experience, I will let the almost 80 reviews with a 4.7 rating speak for itself, for the amazing location and comfort we are very confident this is a very competitive offering. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify on your feedback and hopefully our response was helpful.
