Just in case your fishing adventure doesn’t go the way you expected, you still have this fishing themed cabin to come home to. You will have the look of a fish camp without the smell. From the rusty ‘ole prop to the actual fishing pole and minnow basket, Fisherman's Folly is all about fish!
Comfortable, form to your shape after a long day fishing (or site seeing, visiting local family, or doing all that fun tourist stuff) couches are cozy and inviting. The pillow top mattresses have been reported to be so comfy that they practically ‘lure’ you to sleep.
Need a place to cook that fresh out of the river salmon or hunk of halibut? Why not use our charcoal grills and eat al Fresco at the picnic area?
If you have little ones or an extra hunting buddy that you have invited along, the twin bed is always a rock-paper-scissors moment for those that want their own personal log bed.
Don’t want to go home with clothes that still smell like you are in the ocean or river? Not to worry, there is a washer and dryer in the cabin for your convenience.
The driveway is shared with Alaska Dreams but there is private parking directly in front of each cabin, so you can easily book both cabins for a reunion or group travelling together. This way your family or friend can be close by but you can still have your own personal space.
You can choose your theme in one of four 'cabins' but the amenities are the same. Each has a full kitchen, full size refrigerator, dining area, living room, large bedroom area, full bathroom, washer & dryer, a picnic table, charcoal grill and private decking.
Other themed cabins available are:
Black Bear Bungalow

Great for vacations, honeymoons, family and class reunions, a long weekend retreat or simply as temporary housing.
Two children under the age of 12 are excluded from additional guest charges.

We decided long ago that it would be a natural choice to also share our local expertise and love of our great state with not just homes and properties but with vacations too.
There is so much to see and do here, and we have a very central location. Whether your stay is just a 'getaway' from your normal to relax or as a base camp to explore what Alaska has to offer, Fisherman's Folly is convenient and comfortable.
Professional, friendly and available service with local knowledge.
Jacque was born on Elmendorf AFB and is an Air Force brat. Her pop served 23 1/2 years and was stationed all over the US and Tripoli Libya. After his retirement in 1982, the family moved to Wasilla Alaska and has been here since. Jacque also has a background as a Palmer and Wasilla police officer so she knows the back roads and neighborhoods very well. She became licensed and joined her husband Larry in real estate in 2001.
Larry is a Montana transplant and fell in love with Alaska from the minute he arrived. He understands the draw to move to this amazing state. If you need any fishing tips, he is always willing to share that advice as well! He has been licensed in real estate since 1997.
Located just inside the heart of Wasilla, just a hop and skip away from mile 40 of the Parks Highway. Amenities very close by are restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, clothing stores, discount box stores, souvenirs, movie theaters, lakes, rivers, hiking, biking, trails, blueberry picking, skiing, swimming wildlife viewing, fishing, boating and all kinds of places to take photos of your Alaskan adventures!
Just in case your fishing adventure doesn’t go the way you expected, you still have this fishing themed cabin to come home to. Enjoy amenities from the large flat screen TV, wifi, pillowtop mattresses, a washer & dryer in Fisherman's Folly.
What can I say that others have not? We first stayed in the Black Bear cabin and even our teenage grandsons were impressed. It was everything that we wanted, needed and more. My oldest grandson said it was the first time he had ever gone home from a vacation with all his clothes clean, ha!
We were fortunate to stay in the Fishermans Folly after another rental later in the month was a disaster-not one of theirs-and we could not stay there. Jacque asked me to compare the two cabins and, really, it is very difficult. Other than the decor they both go above-and-beyond the usual vacation rental and if we could have brought either cabin home with us, we would have!
I could imagine us, a retired couple, living comfortably in either of them. Truly a home away from home!

Loved Fishermans Folly, highly recommend it!! However, was not impressed with vrbo svc/booking fee :( read fine lines and go directly to http://suitedreamsalaska.com/vacation-rentals/fishermans-folly/
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. I wasn't looking for a location deep in the woods, just something not in the middle of town. This little cabin fit the bill perfectly. It feels secluded yet is less than a mile from shopping/restaurants/grocery stores/etc. It had everything we needed and was quiet. If we are ever in Alaska again I will definitely be giving the owners a call. They emailed the day before we arrived and called during our stay to see if we needed anything, very attentive and responsive. There were games for the kids to play, satellite TV, tons of books on things to do in AK, and even a binder with menus for Wasilla and Anchorage eateries. THANKS JACQUE!!
My wife and I spent 3 weeks in the fantastic cabin. Our daughter and grandson live in Wasilla so it was so convenient for us. It was off the main road so our grandson could ride his bike. The cabin had everything you need and the pictures do not lie. Everything was almost new looking. You are 50 minute drive to Anchorage and 10 minutes from Palmer. Not to far is Talkeetna (which I highly recommend if you get the chance). Nice little town. Got a chance to me Jacque and she is a sweetheart. Very helpful and can answer any of your questions. We will be staying there again this year and years to come as long as my daughter lives there...Highly Recommend
We loved our stay. Cabins were very clean and loved the privacy of the location. Its in town but doesn't feel like it.
We sure enjoyed our stay at Fisherman's Folly Cabin. It was very close to town, but out of the city. Great base camp location! We had lots of space inside and it was very comfortable. I didn't expect it to be as roomy as it was - the pictures don't do it justice. Would definitely stay there again!
Great for a long weekend getaway, girls trip, vacation home away from home, spa weekend, retreat, family reunion, class reunion, honeymoon, anniversary getaway or simply a place to rest your head while you search for your permanent home.
