E komo mai [Welcome]!
Our guests tell us these views are even more surreal than the photos can capture, and we have to say we agree! At sunset, step onto the extra-large lanai (balcony), sink into the bubbling hot tub, and wait for a stunning show as the sun sinks, the sky darkens, and the city lights of Honolulu start to sparkle.
This home is on the upper level of a two-floor building, and has its own separate entrance. For larger groups, we offer the option of renting both the top and bottom floor to sleep up to 18 guests - Ocean View Honolulu (upper level, this listing) sleeps 8 and Ocean View Kahala (lower level) sleeps 10. In addition, our Ocean View Diamond Head (sleeps 8) and Ocean View Waikiki (sleeps 10) estate homes are located less than ½ mile away for supplementary accommodations, allowing a total capacity of 36 people for weddings or reunions.
The goal with our vacation rentals has always been to show our guests the true “aloha spirit” we fell in love with years ago when we decided to make Hawaii our permanent home.
When you arrive, you will be greeted with a welcome basket of Island goodies like chocolate macadamia nuts, Kona coffee, and fresh, local pineapple. Your sparkling clean home is stocked with all the comforts of home so you can spend more time relaxing. The 6 person hot tub will be warm and ready to enjoy. We live in the neighborhood and are happy to help with whatever you need to make your stay comfortable and to share the insider tips we’ve gathered over the years.
This stylish home is located in a safe, upscale residential neighborhood where you can fully discover the beauty and culture of the island. You’ll feel a million miles away from it all, but you’re just 2 miles from the heart of Waikiki and the beach. Because we are so close to everything Oahu has to offer, we recommend driving to immerse yourself in the full island experience.
We also took care to make our homes sustainable, to help preserve the natural beauty in place we love so much. We take advantage of Hawaii’s plentiful sun and use solar-heated water and solar panels to power the home.
Inside, you will find an open common area that blends living room, kitchen and dining area into one big, relaxing space for spending time together and taking in the views through panoramic insulated windows. A modern, stainless steel kitchen stocked with all the essentials means you can prepare meals in a chef-ready kitchen, in full view of the mountains, valley, city and ocean.
When it’s time to eat, an adjacent dining table for 8 is the perfect spot, surrounded on two sides by panes of glass so that everyone has a view while they eat. Or, enjoy your food outside on the lanai’s dining table in the warm breeze. There’s a top-of-the-line stainless steel Weber grill on the lanai to impress any grill master in your group!
The luxurious bedrooms feature plush bedding, and the spa-like bathrooms are stocked with all the toiletries you could need, including shampoos, lotions and soaps.
Four large flatscreen LCDs (in the living room and each of the bedrooms) are great for movie nights in. We supply the DVD players and on-demand movies. There’s also free WiFi and broadband.
When it’s time to hit the beach or the golf course, we provide all of the gear you need, like golf clubs, beach chairs, beach towels and snorkeling equipment. For a great snorkeling spot, check out Huanama Bay, just 9 miles away. We’re also just 9 miles from the airport and 20 miles from Pearl Harbor.
We hope to host you here in beautiful Honolulu! Please email or call with any questions or to book your stay. We are reserving dates on a first come basis, and our calendar is filling fast!
Mahalo nui loa A hui hou kakou [Thank you very much, and until we meet again]!
To make your trip a little easier and more cost efficient, we’d like to offer one of our own cars—via a car-sharing service—as an easy alternative. We love renting homes to our guests, and figured, why not our cars, too?
We have our own Robinson-family fleet of three vehicles, which includes a 2015 Honda Odyssey minivan and a 2002 Lexus RX300 SUV. Through a car-sharing service, called Relay Rides, you can rent one of our vehicles.
Take a taxi from the airport (they’re plentiful!) to the rental house and the minivan or SUV will be waiting for you. No need to stand in yet another line at the rental car kiosk after a long day of travel.
All three of our vehicles are sleek, family-friendly, spacious for loading with beach gear, and equipped with Garmin Nuvi 52LM 5” navigation systems for island excursions. (For inspiration, here is Lonely Planet’s list of the best scenic drives on Oahu.)
The Honda Odysseys are particularly family-friendly, with 8 seats and A-grades for car seat safety and security. Plus, we provide car seats/boosters for you at no extra charge.
What about insurance coverage?
Booking through Relay Rides ensures we’re all covered in the event of an accident. As a driver, you can get the same level of coverage you get with a rental car company. Choose your level of coverage, from the no-protection state minimum, to premium protection with $300,000 in liability.
We hope having a vehicle waiting for you makes planning for and enjoying your vacation in Oahu a little easier!
Hello! We both were born and raised in California, fell in love with the aloha spirit of the islands and moved to Hawaii to raise our two precious children. We are so happy to open our vacation home to visitors and share our little slice of paradise!
We chose to buy a vacation rental in St. Louis Heights on Oahu because the views are the best on the island, the tradewinds keep the home comfortably cool and the proximity to town makes the location ideal.
We fell in love with the gorgeous ocean and Diamond Head views from the grand lanai (balcony), living room, kitchen and bedrooms.
Perched on a ridge high above Waikiki’s Gold Coast, our 3-bedroom home presents stunning observatory views of Diamond Head, tropical hills & valleys, the rainforest, Honolulu’s dramatic skyline, and the never-ending coastline.
My wife and I decided to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in Hawaii. Since I spend most of my time when I travel staying in hotel’s we decided to look for a house instead. We found this lovely house and were not disappointed. First and foremost the view was a million dollar view. Nothing better than waking up in the morning with a cup of coffee or finishing the evening with an adult beverage sitting on the Lanai taking in Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach and the Ocean. The house had all the comforts of home which we were looking for. What we liked about it was we were were only 2 miles from Waikiki Beach around the corner from grocery stores, restaurants and the Ala Moana Mall. The hospitality extended to us was second to none.
This was the first time we ever rented a home on a vacation, and boy, it did not disappoint! The view of Diamond Head, Honolulu and the ocean was breathtaking! Day or night, the view was spectacular. Glen and Lara were so easy to work with, always available to answer any questions, very accommodating and most of all just all around genuinely nice people. Sat in the hot tub almost every night enjoying the city lights. The home had everything we needed and more. The home is also conveniently located, close to everything. We also rented one of Glen's cars through TURO and it was super easy, great price and we drove it all around the island exploring!
Would rent this property again in a heart beat!
Thanks to Glen and Lara for making our dream trip even more special!
This by far has been the best vacation rental we've stayed at these past 15 years. The owners are very accommodating, this house has it all, view, jacuzzi, BBQ grill, large balcony, full equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, huge living room with everything you need for a big family from big screen TV to Xbox, computer & printer. My family and I came out for 8 days and enjoyed our trip very much, we loved staying here and we will be coming back for the next 15 years.

The first thing to say is the view from OVH is spectacular! After a week in a 3BR apartment close to Waikiki Beach, this house on a hill not far away was everything we expected and hoped for and a fabulous retreat after the hustle of Kalakaua Ave. The awesome nature of the views from the main room, kitchen 2 bedrooms and lanai really cannot be captured by the photos. We also rented Glen and Lara's Honda Odyssey through RelayRides which was much more convenient and cheaper than a normal renting as the car was ready for us at the house and we could leave it there when we departed. You definitely need a car as the walk to shops while short is quite difficult because of the steep hill. Of course that is the price you pay for the views. The cooking facilities and kitchen were first class and the X-Box Kinect provided some fun and entertainment at night with the Waikiki skyline as a backdrop. Lara had left a wonderful welcome package which was really thoughtful and useful! The highlight of our stay was on the 4th July while watching the fireworks from Ala Moana, our son proposed to his girlfriend and she said "yes". This was the perfect way to begin our stay at OVH and ensuring we will always remember it fondly.
Gorgeous place, well-lit, upgraded interior. Property was very nice and clean with a beautiful view & nice breeze from the wraparound lanai. Hot tub was amazing. Glen and Lara were exceptional hosts - they provided a generous welcome basket, were very accommodating to our needs, and even gave us a parting gift. Convenient location. Highly recommend staying here.
We rented this house for our family to stay in while our daughter had a Hawaiian wedding.
The view was beautiful, house very well set up, and comfortable. We were able to contact the owners and got a good response when the shower curtain rod fell down the first day.
Mr. Robertson came right over and repaired it. I am from a small rural area, so I admit, the Honolulu traffic was scary to me, but we successfully navigated the area! We enjoyed the hot tub and view is terrific!
We highly recommend OVH after staying with our family, which consists of 6 adults. The wall of windows and huge lanai, with hot tub, is such a treat as it overlooks the city and ocean. The house is very well equipped and the amenities make living easy and comfortable. The location of the house is marvelous, minutes away from the freeway and downtown Honolulu. Shopping and restaurants are very close.
Lara and Glen are gracious hosts/owners and accommodating.
P.S They are thoughtful enough to have beach chairs and boards available for your use.
