About Letty J. Lalu

Owners: Jerry and Letty Lalu.

We purchased this home in 2006 while living in Fredericksburg, VA with the hope of one day retiring to this area. We fell in love with all that this area has to offer while making multiple visits to our daughter when she was a student at JMU. We both hail from Ohio (Go Buckeyes!) and have lots of family still there. We immediately opened the home up to family and friends as a retreat or vacation spot. Over the years, we've had hundreds of visitors who all seem to love the area and this home as much as we do. We recently relocated to NC and its a little more difficult for us to spend as much time as we'd like here so decided it was time to allow others to enjoy it.

We still spend as much time as we can here and really enjoy the fall when we try to pack the house each JMU home game weekend with alumni, friends and family to root on the Duke Dogs!

Letty J. Lalu purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Letty J. Lalu chose Shenandoah Valley

While there are many activities available at the resort, there are just as many activities available for a multitude of interests within just minutes of your front door including wonderful antiquing, shopping, wineries, civil war history, college athletics, flea markets, caverns, hiking, museums or driving beautiful Skyline Drive. Take the time to experience life 'in the valley' and you'll find yourself planning your next visit before you've ever left.

What makes this cabin unique

Over the years with the help of family and friends, we've renovated nearly every room and attempted to furnish it with pieces that make it feel cozy and comfortable. We love the open concept that encourages family time and easy conversations. The spacious kitchen and open island make food prep (even for a large group) easy and a group effort. With lots of windows and a peaceful back deck, you can experience the sites and sounds of nature from either inside with the pellet stove warming you or outside listening to the birds sing.

We purposely have stayed away from making our home feel 'hotel' like and feel confident that it's the right choice for families and friends looking for a clean, comfortable vacation spot that encourages conversations, good times and provides long lasting memories.

It is our sincere hope that you'll love our home as much as we do and we want to do all we can to make your stay a great one.

Great stay in Massanutten!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at our stay in Massanutten. The home was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well stocked - everything we needed was right there! The beds were very comfortable and the shower was great. It truly was a home away from home. I look forward to staying there again in the future.

relaxing home in the woods

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and I decided to take a relaxing, do nothing weekend trip to the mountains. We had a 4 day weekend in this beautiful home. Very spacious home, with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and gorgeous scenery! We sat on the back deck every day and watched the deer play in the woods! It was so relaxing! Love, love this house! Had a wonderful time! The owners are super nice people. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Will definitely come back!

Great little home with many upgrades and a short drive to the Slopes and all the activities.

  • 5 of 5

This home is located within the Massanutten Resort core area with easy access to all the Resort has to offer. We were in town for our SARA Ski Race Championships that had gotten moved to Massanutten from Timberline because of the Lift failure the weekend before. Several our our racers were involved in the incident and very shaken. We had to act fast to secure a place at Massanutten and the owners were very accommodating with our short notice request. Everything was handled swiftly and professionally. We had 3 families consisting of 5 adults and 4 children and the house was perfect for us. The adults each got a bedroom x3 and the kids stayed in the 4th bedroom. The upstairs bedrooms are accessible from the outside which makes loading and unloading a breeze. The inside of the home is very inviting with many upgrades and new renovations. Although it wasn't a very cold weekend, the house quickly warmed up with the pellet stove which was very simple to operate. The kitchen was bright and had all the items we needed to get thru the weekend. We look forward to visiting Massanutten again next year and would definitely stay here again.

All the Best,

The SARA Race Families.
