About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 9

Looking for a get-away-from-it-all spot in Northern Michigan? Well, you have found it at these two great cabins. "Laughing Duck Cottages" are located in Interlochen - rich in local history and surrounded by lakes and woods. Enjoy these two cabins with 60' of beautiful sandy frontage with dock, mooring, 2 kayaks and a canoe.

The first cabin is right on the lake with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, sleeps 5-6 guests with 1 Queen, 1 set of bunks, and a sofabed (the sofabed has an inflatable mattress which makes for comfortable sleeping). The living room features a big stone fireplace and an enclosed porch perfect for morning coffee, playing cards or just looking at the sunrise over the lake.

The second cabin includes 1 bedroom and 1 bath and is just across the quiet street. Sleeps 4 with a Queen bed and a Sofa-bed. Washer/Dryer. Both of these cabins come nicely appointed, each with a full kitchen.

Stretch out on the hammock after all that water fun or light up a fire in the firepit and enjoy sharing stories about your day. Just minutes to the Interlochen Center for the Arts. If you like live entertainment, make sure to check out the summer schedule. Traverse City is an easy 20 minute drive. The Michigan Fair is about 10 minutes away. Miles of hiking trails. The Cherry Bowl outdoor drive in theater is about 20 miles west. There is so much to do in this wonderful area.

Linens are included. Your well mannered pet is welcome. Ceiling fans for cooling the cabin plus the cool lake breezes. No smoking.

Reviewer Comments:

We had an awesome experience renting these TWO cabins for a fall weekend getaway! The property was described accurately the cabin on the lake is an original ;) and has a great real cabin feel! The Second cabin across the street was very updated and felt more like a hotel. Both properties were very clean the cabin on the lake could use an updated maybe slightly bigger shower but it did the job. The view is beautiful, the fire pit right on the water was adorable. There were a couple restaurants right in town that had great food and it was only 20 minutes or so from Traverse City were we spent a good majority of our time! We will definitely consider this in the future! This was a great cabin for a couples getaway but would also be great for a family! I would recommend this to anyone!

We had a wonderful time at the cottages and enjoyed pretty much all the amenities they offer: lake access, canoeing, kayaking, fire pit, etc. We booked with two days in advance and all the process went flawless. The location relative to other attractions is also great: Traverse City, Dunes.

Beautiful quiet lake. The cottage across the street was great for gathering/playing games, etc. The cabin by the lake was perfect for direct access to the lake/pier, bbq, hammock. So many toys! It exceed my expectations.

Reviewer Comments:

Very nice location, loved the beach area and dock! Great spot for two toddlers to swim, very shallow for a long time. Dock was perfect for our boat that we docked. Cabin on the beach front is old, but cute, perfect for a cabin feeling. Bathroom needs updates. The cabin across the street is immaculate, very new and modern, super nice. Location was great!

Reviewer Comments:

In the end we had a wonderful long weekend BUT the description of the 2 cabins is not correct and inadequate. Cabin #1: the older cabin is in terrible need of exterior paint. As you drive up to the property it is VERY disheartening. Once inside the cabin area charm is lovely. The bathroom however is in GREAT NEED of update. Just terrible condition. A Home Depot bathroom would go a long way. The view of the lake is fantastic. Really beautiful. Other amenities -specifically the kayaks, canoe, fire pit, movies were fantastic. The second cabin is across the street (not water front). This information was not communicated at all. My husband found that it had a different address other than the first cabin buried in the app. The office answered our call and walked us through finding the other cabin. This second cabin is a beautiful brand new one bedroom apt with great amenities. We put my elderly parents there despite the fact it was on the second floor. They could not have used the very old run down bathroom in the first cabin. It is difficult to answer the questions below because the second cabin was brand new while the first cabin is NOT. The property staff were very professional however I think they didn't have the facts when I called with questions when booking.

Reviewer Comments:

Great place on a great lake. The sunrises on Duck Lake were spectacular. The cabin is what you expect from an old, lake-side cabin; small, imperfect, but also cute, charming and cozy. My family loved the cabin. The interior was well done and clean. The pictures of the home across the road did not do it justice. The place is very well appointed and extremely comfortable and very clean and updated. Consider the long dock with mooring hoist, canoe, kayaks, lake-side fire-pit and everything you need for a great vacation, you'll love Laughing Ducks on Duck Lake.
