Rebecca Hintze has been a resident of Montana for over 14 years, however, she first fell in love with Montana over 30 years ago, and spent every minute of vacation time in Montana, until she could finally move here. In the early 90’s, she purchased property in the Bitterroot Valley, when ordinary folks could still buy land in Montana…and somehow ended up living in her dream log home just west of Livingston. In the late 1990's, Rebecca had Blue Moon Cabin built next to her home. She has been successfully renting the cabin to happy Montana vacationers since 2004.

Since I live next to Blue Moon Cabin, I am obviously biased as to why I love staying here. The calm, quiet atmosphere, natural surroundings and opportunity for wildlife viewing make my home extraordinary. I love being able to step right outside my door and head into the forest with my hiking boots or snowshoes on and go on a beautiful hike...no driving...no hassle. The views, especially night time sky on a clear night are amazing. Feels like you can just touch the stars...
Thank you so much for letting me and my fiance stay at your beautiful cabin. We had the best time relaxing and enjoying the amazing views. We cannot wait to come back!
My husband and I stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon. It was very clean with all needed kitchen supplies, bathroom towels, and clean bedding. The view from the balcony was breath taking and sitting in the hot tub while the sun went down was the perfect way to end both days. The drive up to the cabin is a gravel, up-mountain road, so I'd recommend having a small SUV at the least of a 4W drive vehicle. We couldn't find a whole lot to do in the downtown area of Livingston, but we did have dinner at "Montana Rib and Chop House." The fried green tomatoes were excellent! I'd recommend making a reservation as it was pretty crowded. Bozeman is also nearby, about a 20-25 minute drive. There was also a propane grill on the back porch, so you can fix your own meals any way you'd like. We would definitely recommend this cabin and are already planning on staying here when we return to beautiful Montana. It's a perfect get away for two or four people!
The blue moon cabin was everything we hoped for and more. Everything was very clean, Becca gave us so much privacy we didn't even see her all week. Hot tub was clean and just lovely to dip in after a long day at Yellowstone. We had one small mishap, called Becca and she was so understanding and put us at ease. We loved your little piece of heaven and hope to be back soon.
Loved this cabin. It was tucked up in the mountains and had an amazing view. It was cozy and we felt right at home! Everything was clean and the cabin was pretty spacious.
14 hour road trip to this cabin from Winnipeg, MB was well worth the drive. This was our first journey to Montana and it won't be our last, and we will definitely stay here again. Close to both Livingston and Bozeman for everything you need. The view off the back deck while sitting in the hot tub was breathtaking. Thank you very much.
My husband and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and we had a get away that was well worth it. The surroundings were so peaceful and just what we needed. Being up in the mountains made us forget reality for a few days and our motto was "life is good"!!! We got to see a hawk land on our front porch and a deer eat fresh raspberries no more than 15 feet from the back deck. The awe and beauty that surrounded us filled our spirit, the hot tub was a plus too :) We are talking about making it a yearly visit. We felt right at home and close enough to shops, white water rafting, zip lining and so much more....life is good!!!
The Blue Moon was the perfect place to go "home" to after our many day trips to Yellowstone. It was comfortable, quiet and the amenities were superb. We fully enjoyed the hot tub with the spectacular view. The only visitor we had during our one week stay was a white tail deer. We did however get a chance to meet Rebecca as we were leaving, we shared a hug and I thanked her for building such a beautiful cabin and sharing her piece of heaven with us.
