Recently renovated cottage from top to bottom offering first availability summer of 2011. All new electric, plumbing, cabinets, appliances and electronics along with interior finishes, not the least of which is the newly refinished hardwood floors that were discovered under year's old carpeting. In addition to the complete renovation, we more recently made a significant investment in 2013, replacing the windows along with structural renovation and encapsulation of the crawlspace, eliminating humidity in the house, further mitigated by complete replacement of all HVAC ductwork.
You'll enjoy the peaceful setting from your picture window seat in the living room that affords a full view of the front yard (and the occasional black squirrels that pass through). The 40" HD LED Smart TV provides traditional television content as well as NetFlix movies and other entertainment options.
The master bedroom features its own bathroom along with Olympic Queen Sleep Number bed, 28" LED TV and closet. The second bedroom is likewise equipped with a 28" LED TV and two Twin Beds along with a small closet.
The full featured kitchen is equipped with gas range, microwave and refrigerator in the midst of ample counter space along with brand new cabinets. You'll also find a stacked washer and dryer quieted by its closet in the corner of the kitchen.
In the midst of the renovation we made an effort to retain a few relics from the original house such as the cased entry into the kitchen [retained the North trim piece with all its flaws!], the 2-panel doors [two were converted to pocket doors and the other two retained in their original state, complete with glass door knobs].
Location, optimized space along with all the conveniences and comforts to make your stay in Saugatuck one to be remembered!

We are Dave & Laurie Boller and are pleased that you're visiting our listing!
Originally from Florida [Dave grew up in Tampa - Laurie grew up in Key West], we moved to the Midwest in 1995, raising two children in the Chicago suburbs accompanied by our Labrador Retriever.
We enjoy the RV lifestyle, having traveled the country in a travel trailer and now a motorhome, which currently is our principal residence while we engage in seasonal employment at recreational venues around the country.
With that, it's easy to guess that we enjoy all things outdoors, be it hiking mountain trails or walks on the beach and everything in between.
Dave Boller purchased this cottage in 2010
Following a vacation along the Michigan shore July of 2010 we found ourselves making day trips back to the various communities, finally settling on Saugatuck for its small harbor town appeal along with the shopping, restaurants, beach and access to Lake Michigan. We picked this particular property because of its immediate proximity to town while leveraging the elevation of the hill to escape the congestion of the business district.
Access to town along with a quiet, peaceful neighborhood setting. Sipping morning coffee while sitting in the living room picture window will be a great way to start the day. Five minutes out the front door you can be making your choice where you'll be having breakfast in town after which you can enjoy a walk along the harbor or ride the chain ferry to the other side of the river.
This is an adorable house in a great town! Only a couple blocks away from downtown Saugatuck! My husband, dog, and I stayed here and it was plenty of space...had room for a couple extra people for sure. And everything you need is in the house including doggie poop bags if you bring your furry one along! We liked it so much we stayed an extra night!!
Again - we loved staying at this cottage. If we didn't like it so much, we would not have returned.
Very comfortable and clean, and updated. Dave and Laurie are very attentive owners.
Easy access to the busy town, park, and surrounding areas. Very nice neighborhood and dog friendly.
We look forward to next year.
08/09/16 We recently stayed in this cottage for a long weekend, and could not have been more pleased. Appealing neighborhood, outside is very well kept, inside is attractively decorated with nice comfortable furniture, extremely clean (which is very important to us), and the location is fantastic - downtown Saugatuck is just a stairway away, so you can walk to the restaurants, shopping, water, etc. One of the best rentals we have stayed in. Will definitely revisit and recommend to family and friends.
Loved our stay at this cottage! It's clean and bright and has all the amenities of home (well-appointed kitchen, laundry, cable, wifi). The yard was perfect for our dog, as well as for enjoying an alfresco meal or cocktail. You can't beat the location, very close to all that downtown Saugatuck has to offer, but set up on the hill in a quiet neighborhood. The owner was great to work with, very responsive before and during our stay. Already looking forward to coming back next year!
We absolutely loved this place. It was very well appointed with everything you would need. Such a well stocked kitchen with all the right things for making whatever meals we brought. We even forgot coffee and we're thankful you had some in a jar. Beds were comfy and the living space was perfect.
It was so close to downtown Saugatuck. Just a couple of blocks. Perfect location. We would definitely recommend this to friends and would love to stay here again.
We had an issue with the wifi but my daughter was able to restart the modem just fine. We contacted the owner and got a response the same day.
The only thing is that second bedroom can be a bit stuffy. The supply vent for the ac was under one of the twin beds. My husband is an HVAC guy and recommends not covering vents with furniture. We realize that the room is small and there isn't really a good way around its arrangement. Maybe consider a ceiling fan in this room?
I wanted to share with you how wonderful the stay was at on Mason Street. I am recovering from surgery and needed a place that would provide quiet time but not too far off the grid ~ so that my husband and young adult kids could enjoy themselves. Enjoy they did! I can't remember a better vacation. Dave's home is perfect. I'm sure by reading the other reviews you have the low down on the specifics, but search no more. You've found the best possible place in Saugatuck. It's perfect for all ages, couples, families with children, young & old & seniors. The home is super comfortable with a double recliner (DAVE- we loved that!) for TV watching and relaxing along with the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Great kitchen for cooking, shower heads are the bomb:) and a beautiful back yard to relax and enjoy time together. Each morning my husband and kids would go for a run and I would take my walk on the boardwalk in town. It's beautiful. After that, we headed off to a beautiful beach (Oval) to hang out. My husband is a bit of a night owl, so in the evening he would walk down into the town for a beer. That may sound strange for some but it was perfect for him ~ he relaxed, met some nice people and listened to some great music.
I'm not sure how many times we all said "this is the best".
And...almost forgot, Dave was great to work with and I feel like I've made a friend for life....because believe me when I say....we're going back! No doubt about it!
Beautifully situated in a quiet neighborhood, yet within steps of town and the waterfront. Incredible shopping and dining abound, complimented by local attractions such as Oval Beach, dunes, markets and seasonal activities.
