My now wife and I got engaged here in 2003 and have been looking for this place ever since but couldn't remember the exact place!! Now that we have found it 14 years later we are going to go back with our two children and enjoy it once again! Phenomenal location and price!
Amazing week relaxing!
We were so lucky to find this darling cabin for a last minute get away! It is truly only about 10' from the water, with a private pier for our boat, which we loved as we both have some walking problems. The Loon Cabin was very clean, cutely decorated, had fabulously comfortable recliner chairs and beds, new appliances and almost everything one would need in the kitchen, and lots of outside seating right near the water and on the lovely deck! If you don't have a boat, there is a row boat one can use as well as canoes and paddle boats for added fun. There are also kayaks available for a minimal daily fee. We enjoyed amazing fires in the large fire pit (wood is provided) right next to the cabin, facing the lake and grilled on a large grill, also right next to the cabin. (bring charcoal) The sunsets and sun rises were magnificent, with Eagles flying overhead daily, and the cute diving ducks were always entertaining us all day! If you fish, plenty can be found in this lake...we caught perch, Walleye and bass! The cabin setting is very private but one is only a few miles from town for grocery shopping, restaurants or services one might need! All you need to bring are your personal belongings!
Thank you so very much Jackie and Jack for sharing your cabin and beautiful surroundings with us, and for the delicious apple dessert you brought to our picnic! We had a fabulous time and will be coming again next year for 2 weeks. We would rent the cabin for a month if we could bring our kitties with us!! lol (cats are not allowed due to other peoples allergies, BUT the neighbors have a extremely friendly, darling kitty named Smokey, who would come to visit us, which we loved)
A special thank you also to Jackie and Jacks neighbors, Sandy and Wayne (Smokey's parents), who checked us in and helped us with a car battery problem before Jack and Jackie arrived home from a trip. Wayne also gave us lots of Crappie fillets and tomatoes, took Anne fishing with him one evening, allowed us the use of his boat launch for our boat, and shared laughs, conversation and his kitty with us!
We feel so blessed to have spent a relaxing week in the Loon Cabin and found new, wonderful friendships with Jackie, Jack, Wayne and Sandy. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything!!!
Best Getaway Ever
My husband and I took a little anniversary getaway and stayed in Loon Lodge. Everything written about the cabin and location were spot on and then some. Jack and Jackie are the most wonderful people ever. They have maintained these cabins and keep them up so well. Jack and Jackie gave us great ideas for places to go and things to do around the area. We have to admit that staying around the cabin is what we chose to do. The mornings were amazing having a cup of coffee on the porch. Then cooking out at the grill after a day boating, fishing and watching the eagles fly. The wildlife is astonishing. We intend to come back year after year and now consider Jack and Jackie good friends! Thank you both for an experience that will never be forgotten!!
We stayed at Eagles Nest which is set back a little from Lake Noquebay. The cabin was perfect. We brought our dog and she enjoyed the air conditioning and the yard surrounding the cabin. This cabin is located on a quiet end of the road. So walking the dog was peaceful. The dock was great for fishing. Now if only the fish would have showed up! We were able to rent their pontoon for a few days. Lake Noquebay is a big enough lake to enjoy but not too big. Plenty of nature to see. Fish were hiding! The owners were friendly and helpful. They gave us great suggestions on places to eat, sights to see and things going on. We were on vacation over the 4th of July and wasn't sure how busy the area was going to be. However, it wasn't super busy. So very enjoyable! The dining choices were plenty. We were pleasantly surprised on the prices. We are definitely coming back.
A stress free getaway!
Our family of 4 adults enjoyed a peaceful stay at the Eagle's Nest. The cabin was decorated cute in up-north fashion and very clean. Jackie was quick to provide what we couldn't find in the kitchen. Both Jack & Jackie were very friendly hosts and did a great job before, during and after our stay answering all our requests....even helping to return our lost wedding ring! The only thing that could have been better, was if we caught more fish! But...that was not Jack or Jackie's fault. Jack did give us lots of fishing advice. It could be that we're just not good at fishing! There were plenty of other things that we enjoyed during our stay. The Crivitz water ski show was great and we attended the weekly flea market. The ice cream sundaes at Soup to Nuts were scrumptious! We enjoyed an evening walk and bike ride. We also had our two little dogs with us and I'm sure they were happy to be with us instead of being at a kennel. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing, stress free vacation. Thank you Jack & Jackie!
Want to relax?
I was looking for a place to relax, on the water, where I could feel at home and just chill! And boy I sure found it! The cabin was everything I could hope for. Rustic, honey and clean! Great deck, great view, and peace and quiet. Thank you Jackie and Jack!
The Crivitz Ski Cats waterski show team performs on Lake Noquebay twice a week for most of the summer. Two supper clubs that are great for family dining are available by water.
